wow, glad i caught the end of that one. i don't know how vanderjagt missed by that much...he's usually money....

well, whats everyone's take on manning now? he's still gotta get rid of the "choker" before i will consider him a good qb. i don't care what you do in the regular season, if you can't win in the playoffs, then you just can't cut it.

Well Marino made it to at least ONE Super Bowl and considering they may lose Edge after this season I'm not sure Manning will be guaranteed that chance but it looks like he may be on the Marino path. He may put up all the numbers in the world during the regular season but the guy still can't get over the hump. And this was supposed to be THE YEAR to do it with home-field and the Pats getting knocked out yesterday. The last five minutes of that game were UN-FEAKING-REAL.

As far as taking the knee I believe Indy had all three timeouts so Pitt couldn't run out the clock that way.

what a strange game. why didn't pittsburg just take a knee? That would have saved all the drama after the bus fumbled.

And, i dont understand that interception call at all.. Incomplete?

Yeah that call was bogus

Manning has NO answer for a good blitz. He can't move in the pocket AT ALL! Many of his big plays come off of play action. Glad to see him exposed by a good D in the playoffs AGAIN!

i see sanctified's reading this. and no one's commented on big ben's play. i can't say much, since i didn't turn the game on until like 8 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. but thats a big win for only a second year guy.

fixed, because saying that is a jinx on pittsburgh. if i hear anyone play that damn 'here we go' song, i'm ending their life.

lol yeah, that song gets on my nerves.. it's all I hear anymore.

Anyways, great game.. not sure how well we stack with Denver but it should be a good one.

Ha ha, the Bears are going to lose.

Yeah, Carolina came out with much more than the Bears were expecting. We just couldn't cover Smith. He's an amazing athlete. Plus, the Bears kind of beat themselves when they changed their style of play when Grossman had only started 1 game... I think it was a good game all in all.

Okay, practice next year for the Colts needs to have the rest of the team chanting "CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE" as Vanderjagt practices kicking...

Just a thought.

I do think there were some bad calls in the game. And to have the offense for the Colts push so hard to get so close and then have special teams blow it... well... I'm just a little upset. :p

Maybe next year.

There's a very good chance Vanderjagt won't BE with the team next year. He's a free agent and is not exactly on the best terms with the team considering past idiotic comments. And apparently he's not all that clutch either anymore.

I know, I kinda figure as much. I believe this is the second time that the Colts have gotten to the playoffs in the last 5 years and Vanderjagt "screwed the pooch" on a field goal.

Why do I keep reading people asking why didn't Pittsburgh take a knee at the end?

Indy had 3 timeouts at that point. So that takes away running out the clock. The Steelers were only up 3 so even if they do kick a field goal, you are up 6 and giving the ball back. A TD and extra point by Indy wins the game. It was clearly the right call to go for the touchdown, no matter what the outcome was.

As far as Roethlisberger, that was one helluva first half he put on the board. Nobody expected the Steelers to come out throwing on the Colts defense and he laced them with 2 early TD passes. It's going to be a battle in Denver because, as we all know, Denver never loses at home. They have the best home field advantage in the NFL.

    • I think the car analogy is more this: Left hand drive, basic commands on the left side of the infotainment screen. Right hand drive, basic commands on the right side of the infotainment screen. Granted, you're not swapping between the two often so it's doesn't really work. But it's to do with the proximity of you (your mouse, or the driver) to the controls.
    • I mean, the old one was broken and so stupidly complex for many users, so I don't see that as a feasible option. A context menu needs to be simple to use, and for me the Windows 11 style actually worked really well for me, and many others. I used to have to scroll the damn context menu just to get to "file properties" in Windows 10. That was not a good experience, and I'm sure you'd agree. What they're trying to do is make it the best of both worlds, as clearly you'd prefer the Win10 style. I'm curious how they're going to do this.
    • The "Show more options" has its place, as does the simpler context menu, but it should perhaps be a separate fly-out rather than relaunching the entire, old context menu. The old context menu was getting absurd in Windows 10. Often I'd have to make the context menu scroll just to get to "File properties" on my old laptop. Even without much installed, the amount of items was just too much. It's a context menu, not a "do all" menu. Making it configurable is fraught with challenges too, so I'm interested to see how Microsoft tackles this one.
    • I don't hate the new menus, I am not a fan of the lack of features and how they went live when they clearly are not complete. The menu itself presents much better than the previous - but what's lacking (IMO) is: 1) Any kind of automated manipulation such as: "this goes on the new menu because you use this feature more often on this filetype" "this is rarely used and will fall back to the old menu" 2) Any kind of user manipulation such as: "a UI to add/remove/order items to the new menu"
