Trillian doesn't take up 10K? Are you kidding or just flat out lying?

Trillian is a HOG. You do realize 10K can't even begin to load up the images of the skin don't you? (this is just with 1 yahoo account, 1 msn accont and 1 aim account, no other plugins)

"Mem Usage" column is useless. It doesn't actually tell how much memory is allocated by that particular program. And thats what's important. Notice the how much memory is free after killing trillian.exe? Notice it freed up what was in VM Mem, not Mem Usage.

And just for the record, Google Talk(googletalk.exe) doens't take up all that much.

But I still prefer using trillian when I need to use 2 MSN accounts, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, and GTalk. rather then using each of those seperatly. One mouse click and you are away on ALL of the clients. It's less of a hassle. Plus when I use trillian I don't do much else other then surf the web anyway.

It's both a good start and a worthy attempt, but why did they even attempt this??? What originality and functionality are they going to bring to this IM product, that doesn't already exist in the market? How are they going to get users to switch from longer-running, feature-rich IM products such as MSN/AIM/Trillian etc?

I could imagine the board meeting:

Googlite: Let's make an IM program...

Googlexec: But there are loads of existing ones...

Googlite: So, that doesn't matter, we will craft a simple IM and everyone will just go nuts!

Googlexec: I still don't see this as a worthwh---

Googlite: We are google, we will succeed, resistance is futile!

They can't possible think they can fit a google product into every facet of the internet can they??

    • Honestly, i either don't care, mind, use, or had any problem with those. 11 is really good for me, has a lot of little refinements, looks great, if i wanted to tweak/fix it's behavior i would with a range of tools, and wouldn't come back to the 2010's looking Win 10 even at gunpoint.
    • You dont want a expensive hp laptop either managed to get 3 new zbooks and they all died on me.
    • Nothing inherently wrong, but why buy 2021 tech in 2025? Assuming you were aiming for 6-10 years of usage, better to buy something current.
    • I have begun using Windows 11 native passkey feature. i have four passkeys set up so far. Three work fine, One has never worked. I have removed it and recreated it several times, still no luck. Anyway, on the websites in which it works, it works geat. No more two 2FA.
