Nintendo Revolution Controller Revealed

Recommended Posts

GT - yeah lots of possibilities. Like 3rd party companies telling Nintendo to screw off because they don't wanna remake Splinter Cell/Half-Life 2/you name the franchise to use those possibilites. Like what Nintendo thought would be cool by using the GBA as a GC controller. Like Nintendo making more remakes of their old games with new names.

Sorry, I don't see it. I haven't enjoyed one of Nintendo's ideas since SNES - N64 games were too expensive (and most of em sucked), the DS touch screen is awful except for niche games, and I regret wasting money on my Game Cube except for Animal Crossing. Nintendo's just not in the position (aka 3rd/last place) to be getting way radical ideas off the ground.

ya, maybe before you post, you should read the whole article. the controller is wireless, the wire your thinking about is for the 2nd hand controller, which plugs into the bottom of the first.

im not sure what to think of this though. after all the hype, it is a let down, but in general, its a very interesting and new idea of play.

does this have the touted controller moving technology, when we sway the controller left right front back, there is feedback inside the game?

Also does this mean Nintendo will get lesser third party games because of this controller

i do agree that that totally looks retarted... i hope thats just a dvd remote or something.. cause that looks like it sucks.

DVD remote with an analog stick? come on man  think

IT will have Titlt sensor technology, some sort of laser point technology, and some other stuff. So it may look simple and stupid but it does look promising so god, stop being such pessimists.

Looks like fancy names for IR; cheap technology.

wait i dont understand.

Is this going to be like the ONLY controller, or is it going to have a normal controller and then this 'remote controller'?

I mean it looks like a very lovely remote, but I like to use both hands when playing.

does this mean lesser third party multiplatform games for revolution like this generation? doesnt have enough buttons like ps3 or xbox 360

Once again: THERE ARE PORTS ON THE SIDE OF THE REVOLUTION FOR THE GAMECUBE CONTROLLERS

"Nintendo also mentioned that the controller stick could be slipped inside other, more conventional controller shells, dance mats, bongos, or other peripherals." (From EGM)

Interesting concept. Being able to slip the "remote" into more conventional-looking controls and even more peripherals, while still remaining wireless...very cool.

To be honest, I was mildly shocked when I first saw the photo, but the more I read about it and look at it, the more I want one. Which is more than I can say about the PS3 and 360 setups. Kudos to Nintendo for having the extra-large nuts to bet their future on straying from the pack on conformity.

    • The memory and nvme can be swapped and upgraded with standard parts. But the GPU cannot, which is the weakest part of the box. It's a dead product at these prices.
    • Sounds like the debloated build you are running is missing some components that the Photos app and Snipping Tool rely on.
    • Apparently, Microsoft doesn't use water in their taps, washrooms or clean their facility. /sarc
    • Wow, throwback.  VERY VERY briefly - but realised that it wasn't the language I needed for the tasks I was taking on.
    • Apple and Tesla trade secrets reportedly exposed following a Tata Electronics cyberattack by Hamid Ganji Image via Depositphotos.com Tata Electronics has confirmed that it detected a cybersecurity incident in some of its systems. The Indian company is a manufacturing partner of both Apple and Tesla, and the incident may have exposed some trade secrets belonging to the two American companies. The World Leaks ransomware group is said to be behind the attack, and it has reportedly posted up to 200,000 files on the dark web, including component designs and specification documents related to Apple and Tesla products. Tata Electronics told Reuters that its response protocols were deployed immediately and that the “incident has had no impact on our operations across businesses, which remain unaffected.” The ransomware group reportedly sent a ransom demand to Tata Electronics, while Apple has launched an investigation into the incident. World Leaks claims it stole more than 200,000 files totaling over 630GB from Tata Electronics. Some database files on the ransomware group’s website are titled "com.apple.factorydata," which could refer to Apple’s iPhone production operations in India. Moreover, some documents reportedly contain material specifications and quality inspection standards for iPhone circuit board components. However, Apple is not the only affected company. A folder found in the World Leaks database is titled "NV36 Chargeport Controller - North America," which may refer to Tesla Model Y components. Additionally, other files in the database reportedly contain drawings related to Tesla’s Project Highland, the internal codename for the EV maker’s updated Model 3 sedan. To support the authenticity of the stolen files, World Leaks has published documents containing footers that read: "This document contains proprietary and confidential information of Apple Inc." and "information contained herein is deemed confidential, proprietary, and a trade secret of Tesla Inc." Cybersecurity researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia told Reuters that the database also contains emails, event logs spanning several years, and passport copies of employees, including foreign nationals. Both Tesla and Apple have declined to comment on the scale of the incident.
