spiegel Share Posted September 19, 2005 what impressed me the most was the enviromental interactivity, now instead of a leaf going THROUGH you, its moves away from you that looks sweet :woot:

jerry Share Posted September 19, 2005 more eye candy, less gameplay innovation ... 586546859 hmm, they made FarCry was one the pioneering games with open-ended gameplay.
Lexcyn Share Posted September 19, 2005 This is pretty insane. Sweet graphics, but intense system requirements most likely. I'm kind of scared ...

coolchan Share Posted September 19, 2005 i wasn't especially pointing at crytek, hopefully there are still some developpers who care about gameplay, but they tend to become rare :/ 586546957 Don't forget this was showed at PDC. It's a conference for developers not for gamers. What they are showing is the next gen DirectX capabilities to developers. So it's more a tech demo for their next engine. Sensayshun Share Posted September 19, 2005 looks pretty nice... but yea the fire didnt look all that great but still better than b4 586546457 They never did work out realistic fire, I don't know a single game which has it. The nearest i can think.....is possibly HL2.

Proforma Share Posted September 19, 2005 DX10 is scheduled to come after the release of Vista, that could change however. In short, nobody knows. 586546670 No, it's coming with Windows Vista. There will be Windows Graphics Foundation 1.0 (DX 9.0 optimised for Vista) and Windows Graphics Foundation 2.0 (which is Direct X 10 optimised for Vista) Vista should be finished by September 2006 and will be sold in stores by Christmas 2006. Lanky Share Posted September 19, 2005 Looks nice. Finally something that actually resembles my opinion of what next gen SHOULD look like! I guess we can safely asume Far Cry 2 is gonna look ****ing nice.
mrk Reviewer Share Posted September 19, 2005 Also people should note that the keynote speaker at the PDC stated that this was something showed why PC will allways be ahead of consoles when it comes to gaming power and reality, quietly indicating obviously that "this is not possible on xbox360" but we all know that anyway
