Kinda, but not really when you look at some of the teams that have made it to the Finals in recent years... (Washington, Carolina, Anaheim, Calgary, etc)

The exception, not the rule, especially when you consider that the Canucks are weaker than they have been in previous years, and how they did then.

Hmm.. I would argue that it isn't a rule, but that you simply shouldn't write any team off. There are always upsets and all it takes is a goalie on a hot streak to get you to the Cup. Then you have your teams with great records and awesome seasons that fall short in the first round of the playoffs to "lowly" teams. Detroit has done that a couple times and Colorado has also had greatly disappointing playoffs in some years. For the Canucks specifically I don't know, because I haven't been following them that much this year, but all I'll say is let's wait and see what happens there. So I'll just repeat my stance of "you never know" and get even more hyped for the playoffs, because it's a whole new season!

I wouldn't write off any team, but it is the rule that the better team wins, when considering a 1 v. 8 or 2 v. 7 matchup. As for the Canucks, their goaltending is questionable, not only because they do not possess premier goalies nor playoff experienced goaltenders, while their defence has a few holes (Did anyone really expect the new acquisitions to do much?), and their forwards have simply played terrible at times.

Besides, it is unlikely for the Canucks to make the playoffs. Yes!

The Rangers are going to the playoffs!!!!! I know for some of you that's not a big deal but when you're team hasn't been there since 1997 despite having the highest payroll it's exciting. So glad the cap FORCED them to be smart about their spending and develop some young talent finally. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about hockey. :D

bigblue: I always try to watch the Rangers on Center Ice. They're an exciting team to watch. Lundqvist and Jagr are beyond amazing!!! Great win for them tonight against Philly with Weekes in net! I guess you guys arent so weak beyond Lundqvist!!

7 in a row for my Habs tonight against Boston :) This Chris Higgins character is turning out to be one of our best players!

I was a big Rangers fan until a few years ago. I fell out with them because I realized that as I saw the roster, the entire team, including management, had changed in three years. How can I still support a team that isn't the same team? However, with this new change I have revitalized interest in the team, albeit minor compared to my previous association.

Man this is a huge deal for me too because I have been a fan since 97 and haven't seen them in the playoffs ever. It's been such an amazing season after so many disappoints, they have made it worth the wait though.

Congrats to the Rangers for finally clinching. I hope they can do well in the playoffs, the only thing that worries me is their depth. I like to see Weekes doing well right now as well. He certainly isn't the best, but he puts everything he's got into every game he plays.

I think this is shaping up to be quite a good post season. After the first round, nearly every game is going to be very close.

I have been a Rangers fan since the early 90s. I was so happy when they finally clinched. Now we just have to get the division title to make sure we don't have to play the Buffalo in the first round.

Thats more than can be said for the avs, they went from challenging the flames for the divison title to fighting for their spot in the playoffs. It doesn't help that Tanguay and Svatos are injured though. It will also be a big boost when Theodore is healthy again.

Oh, I hate the Canucks. Hate them so very much. And that is why I am so glad that they lost tonight, eliminating them from the playoffs :D . Finally, the public is realizing that Bertuzzi is not the greatest, or even among the best, but simply average.

    • Let's goooooooo! I've been loving the entries so far! I still have to finish Rebirth (things have been busy!)! Excited for this next installment.
    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.
