hey king mustard.. how long have u been using hotmail? Ive been using it 4 almost 4 years now.... and i got my invite about a week after i signed up for it... maybe they go by how long uve used it? thast all i can think of... maybe not...

Yea, I didnt notice the button for a few days... I saw a green thing below teh logo, but never bothered to click... then yesturday, someone told me they ahd it, and i was like "OMG, HOW!!!" and he told me to click the button!!! :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: Now i have it. too many ads still.. i would use this over gmail if they got rid of the ads... and i didnt get so much spam :woot:

well i dont have any ads on mine since i have a payed yearly account... i signed up for that back when hotmail was only 2mb but i think ill still keep it its only 19.99 for a year and plus the never expire thing is nice if i not on for a month like i have been before... how long have you all had hotmail that go in the mail beta?

I got in :D

The new interface looks much cleaner, and there's a whole lot more whitespace than before. See previous screenshots for details.

Sorry for those of you who want a screenie of the button, I didn't get one before I clicked it :p

Thanks to Firefox's caching abilities, here you go.

Hmm.. looking at the address of the screenshots of the new mail beta, it appears to be located at 'mail.start.com' instead of the usual 'hotmail.msn.com'

Went to http://mail.start.com just to see and it came up with a sign in page for 'mail beta' (as long as you're signed out of hotmail) After signing in, it just goes to the regular old hotmail though.

Interesting... sorry if thats old and obvious news

EDIT: now it redirects to the old sign-in page

Mail Beta takes advantage of promising web design tech to make you feel like using a mail client not a webmail. Sad, Kahuna loves me not. :(

HOW DARE YOU SAY IT LOOKS LIKE A MAIL CLIENT!!!!!

You see, if you say that, Bill Gates will start placing adverts into Microsoft Office 12/2006. And that would lead to severe trauma in my head, due to me bashing it like the attatchment.

    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.

    • Recycle Bin has been broken for literal YEARS now. The setting to delete files older than 30 days from the bin which is on by default doesn't even work. I have files older than 4 months in it and they are just there still...
