Since the other thread seems to be dying out, I think I'll share this link here as well.

Interesting story colicab.

Marijuana, like Crisscross said, does give you a sort of hangover. I used to smoke everyday....I recently took a week off, then last night I smoked some bowls with my friend and we played bass, watched some skate videos and talked about the girl that died in the drunk driving incident. I got really stoned because of being sober the past week, which was new for my body. When I woke up today I still felt it....but it's not like a nauseus feeling where you have a headache and feel like crap. I just feel slightly more tired, I know I had a real vivid dream, my mouth is slightly dry...but other than that I just feel like I would normally feel after smoking. It's more along the lines of if Alcohol, instead of a normal hangover, you just woke up kind of drunk the next day. I feel that's a more accurate analogy than just saying they both give you hangovers.

LOL. "Cannabis" Endorsed by Jesus (soz dont mean to offend) Nice link Raum.

Worth noting to all christians, this does not mean you should light up or anything but still quite interesting. Of course the fact its published and researched mainly by one of the writers for "High times" may somewhat chepen its meaning, assuming unlike em you dont take High Times as a reputable publication

As far as "Weed Hangovers" yeah I used to get em either after a pause in smoking or in my early days of using the drug and certainly in the case of Amsterdam, where you do wake up FULLY stoned the next day.

The hangover i always felt was more of a very very light stone. Oh and chaps have a wee look up on resin in the UK, its our main form of cannabis, none as Soap Bar, interesting read, as its cut a lot to the point of incluidng dog poop and old recrods!!!

Some of the comments in this topic make me sick.

+1 vote for Alcohol

No offence mate but that kind of attitude is not for me I wouldnt condemm the use of Alcohol saying it makes me "sick", tho when you get too ****ed and vomit in your sleep and choke, then yeah it,ll made you sick then eh?

Plz try and make your comments a little more educated.

i hate pot now, wont touch the stuff, all my friends do it, now their zombies, no brains left, all of them are egotistical ######, who crave the **** waste their money its pathetic

Sadly true it does kind of lead to a "only when im stoned am i outgoing / talkative". Tho like all things the trick is moderation,.

Soz for the double post

The Idiots that drink too much and vomit in their sleep are just that Idiots. If you want to drink then drink responsibly not to see how wasted you can get before you pass out.

Marijuana on the other hand is different you can get a little high just by smelling enough of the smoke of someone else smoking it around you, now that to me is enough to have marijuana Illiegal. Now I know what some of you are going to say, "well cigs are the same way" yes you can get second hand smoke and yes I wish that cigs were Illegal too, but the difference is cigs does not get you high.

And my comment was some of the comments in this topic makes me sick. I DID NOT SAY that oh marijuana makes me sick and all of you losers who smoke it make me sick and you all should go to hell.

I didn't say that now did I, So YOU should learn to read before you say that I should make my comments a little more educated

Better mate, sorry I didnt mean to offend but I guess I took it out of context. So my aplogies for that. I actually do agree that it should be kept illegal to a degree. I.e maybe only allow private use or keep it to those like myself who cannot drink and whom enjoy a smoke in the comfort of there own home.

The point you make is actually quite valid, lets all look at smoking tobacco and how it causes cancer in not just smokers but those around them, hell Id hate to be slowly giving my kids schizophrenia by smoking cannabis around them!! However like I say private use in ones own home would certainly be a good move in my books.

Its good to see that you also take drinking to be done responsibly, like I would smoking weed. I.e theres a time and place and not the point of it being dangerous immediately (i.e not over long term use.

But if you read my earlier and somewhat lenghty post, I do know what it does feel like to have a very serious and life threatening conditon as a result of alcohol and Ive never drank in my life aside, once when the drink was a non-alcoholic wine :p

The whole some posts me sick, post tho surely you can see how I could take that in the wrong way, if someone posts a comment and youre saying that makes you sick.. well is that not saying you opinion or thoughts make you feel ill? Again soz if ive taken this the wrong way but, surely you can see my point a little. Especially with the sad amount of folk online who do make posts like that purely for the uptake.

Oh and on a side note Ive nearly died 3 times due to the condition I suffered, which is found in and caused by the use of Alcohol, tell you one thing it scared the hell out of me several times and I always thought I wasnt afraid of death, tho when your lurking on the edge of it slowly slipping away in a hospital bed you do get a good bit of time to think that one thru, and yeah smoking weed may send me to the grave, but at least then i could say that I had lived a little.

And once again soz if any of my comments have offended you, as i dont wish to be up on my high horse anymore than the next man, nor turn this thread into a stoners v drinkers argument.

LOL I wonder also how many of these votes for cannabis are from the 14-18yr old age rabge in college or school? Id guess just a few :) I know I certainly started smoking around 15 LOL

I live in BC ... look at my nick, can you guess what I voted for .. good ol' sweet Maryjane

u live in BC and you have a pic of the Toronto maple leafs...*cough* traitor *cough*

i dont like the taste of alcohol and i dont see the point, all it gives you is a massive headache...sounds like fun.

as for Marijuana ive never tried it, although probly 8/10 kids at my high school last year probly would have given me some or been able to get me some, i dont try very much as it is, if i was any lazier...ya

Hullo. I'm dutch, and I smoke marijuana once or twice a month. (sometimes I smoke weed for about a week in a row, depends on where I am...)

I also drink, about as often as I smoke weed, not always at the same time. I mostly drink with my dad, and smoke weed with my cousin.

I know quite a lot of people who smoke weed nearly daily... I've never seen any of them turned into an ###### or a zombie. I even like them when they're stoned and I'm not. No problems...

Personally I have no negative experience with Marijuana. Nearly no negative experience with alcohol. (I tend to forget things when drink too much though...)

I do know people who have had negative experiences with Marijuana. I've actually seen someone faint after smoking weed. I must say that I warned him not to go drinking beer and smoke weed at the same time. (it was his first (and last) time that he smoked weed)

I also once met someone who got schizofrenic because of weed. He stopped smoking... he walked around in the city, I see him sometimes... he's cool, though he feels confused all the time. He's not unhappy or anything, but he won't easily get a job...

Dutch weed tends to be a lot stronger that the stuff you get in the rest of the world. (a few exceptions, I'm sure) There has been a political discussion about Marijuana in The Netherlands. One group wants to forbid weed altogether.

The other group wants to create controlled weed growth: It would reduce illegal growth.

As a matter of fact, mass growth of weed is illegal in The Netherlands. Coffeeshops (with the proper licence) may sell it, but they always buy their weed from some illegal weed dealer. It's really silly, but it works for the consumer... :)

My most positive experience with weed remains: It brings the people together. There's a huge hate growing towards foreign people in The Netherlands. The coffeeshop is almost the only place where everyone from every culture respects one another...

Marijuana might be dangerous, but so is alcohol. If I had to make a choice which of the two should be legal (and automaticly making the other one illegal), I'd choose Marijuana without a doubt. It's a peacemaker, IMO.

That being said... I'm going to drink a beer now, before it's forbidden.

i hate pot now, wont touch the stuff, all my friends do it, now their zombies, no brains left, all of them are egotistical ######, who crave the **** waste their money its pathetic

Your right, I've also noticed people who smoke pot for an extended period of time looking and acting like zombies. Some of them act like they are brain dead.

But, I'd rather pot be legal than alcohol. Alcohol is nothing but poision. Cancer, ate up intestines and liver illness. etc.

you have to look at weed over the long run.....ive grown up with and smoke a fair bit in my time, ive now quit but say once every 2 months i might share a spliff with a mate; thats easy enough for me. i have grown up with people that have ben smoking atleast say a 10 bag a day minimum since they were 14, i even know people who smoke say half ounce in a day. weed is a very bad thing and no sh** it ruins lives in the way its made a number of my freinds, smart people waste their lives and life oppertunies because of a drug. alcohol can be bad, but its no where near as psycologicly addictive as weed.

alcohol is the downfall of society, but hey i cant really talk i love noting more then to get pretty slooned with my freinds. and with this rant i shall head for the pub!

"The cold hard fact for any anti-marijuana argument is simple. Marijuana kills 0 people every year. How can something be dangerous, much too dangerous to allow into the hands of the public, yet has not once killed anyone? We are, ironically, allowed guns."

Marijuana all the way bitches

Marijuana is an evil plant that makes one extremely lazy and also leads to the use of cocaine and other hard drugs. It has ruined numerous communities. Keep it illegal and expand the penalties for possessing it at the federal level.

As for alcohol.. I believe all except mild wines should be banned. The reason for keeping wine around is, wine is OK because our Lord drank it and even transformed water into it. The age should be raised to 25 for any alcohol at the least.

:D Great joke......it was a joke right? Please say it was a joke!

* Marijuana is fat-soluble, and it stays in the body for weeks, unlike alcohol, which is water-soluble and leaves the body in hours. It is a complex mixture of over 400 chemicals and over 60 cannabinoids, (missing in tobacco) including delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive ingredient. [1] THC, the marijuana ingredient associated with health "benefits", is currently available in pill form as Marinol TM,, and it can be administered in known and precise doses, unlike smoked marijuana. [2] For each medical condition for which smoked marijuana is claimed to be beneficial, there are other drugs available that are superior to marijuana. [3] But we don?t wanna hear about that, right? It would remove the real reason we want people to believe that cannabis has unique therapeutic characteristics: because we like to smoke it, and get stoned!

* One study based on instrumental quantitative analysis of toxic components of cannabis smoke found that smoking a "joint" of marijuana caused over 10 times as much lung damage as smoking one cigarette. [4] Where did lung cancer go, dear anti-tobacco/pro-marijuana activists? Shouldn?t we be at least 10 times as concerned about marijuana as we are about tobacco, assorted ministries of health and antitobacco freaks?

* Marijuana has not been shown to be a safe and effective drug in lowering intraocular pressure and preventing optic nerve damage for glaucoma patients. To maintain a low intraocular pressure with marijuana, a person would have to smoke a joint every 1 to 2 hours, 10 to 12 joints a day, and 4,000 a year. [5] That would put the toxic chemical intake at an equivalent of 100 to 144 cigarettes a day (or 36, 000 to 52,000 a year) ? a far cry from the 20 cigs of an average tobacco smoker.

* Smoked marijuana threatens patients with bacterial and fungal infections; it has been demonstrated that infectious agents can be found on marijuana leaves, [6] because it is clandestinely produced, and not subject to the obsessive quality controls that the targeted tobacco industry is. Cancer and AIDS patients are immuno-compromised and are extraordinarily sensitive to invasion by bacteria and fungi. [7] It is true that legalisation would go toward eliminating this problem, but Mr. Sweanor certainly does not refer to any future.

* According to a leading medical journal, marijuana users had 55% more industrial accidents than non-users. The same study found that marijuana users had 85% more injuries at work than non-users. [8] But there is positively no need for studies or medical skills to observe that marijuana decreases motor skills, concentration and coordination, and that accidents result from a distortion of time and space relationships. Not surprisingly, none of this is a problem for tobacco smokers, who do not fall into an idiotic, dumb stupor every time they light up. Furthermore, marijuana users have been shown to have a 78% increase in absenteeism over non-users.

Subtitle Edit 5.0.0 changelog: Subtitle Edit 5 is a major new release and a big step for the project. For the first time, Subtitle Edit runs natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux from a single, modern, cross-platform codebase. The builds are self-contained, so no separate .NET installation is required, and on macOS and Linux the needed media components (mpv/ffmpeg) are bundled in. Please read before upgrading: Subtitle Edit 5 is a new application, not just an update of Subtitle Edit 4. It has been rebuilt from the ground up to be cross-platform, so: It is not 100% the same app. The look, layout, and some workflows have changed. Some things are in different places, and a few behave differently than in SE4. Not every SE4 feature exists in SE5 yet. SE5 covers all the core editing, conversion, sync, video playback, OCR, and online services, but some of the more specialized SE4 tools are not available yet. Features will continue to be added. If you rely on a specific SE4 feature that is missing, please keep SE4 installed alongside SE5. The easiest way to run both side by side is to use the Portable versions of SE4 and SE5, which keep their settings separate and do not interfere with each other. Which version should I use? Subtitle Edit 5: recommended for most users on Windows 10 (22H2) or newer, macOS 12+, and Linux. Subtitle Edit 4: please continue to use SE4 if you are on an older Windows version (Windows 7/8), or on older / slower computers where SE5 may not run well. SE4 remains available and is the right choice in those cases. To run SE4 and SE5 at the same time, use the Portable versions - you can try SE5 while keeping SE4 as a fallback. • Google Pixel 11 series: Here's what to expect by Hamid Ganji Google Pixel 10 series In recent years, Google has successfully turned its Pixel devices into worthy contenders in the smartphone market. The search giant is now preparing to launch the Pixel 11 series in just a few months, and many Pixel fans are likely wondering what Google has in store for them this year. The next lineup of Google smartphones includes four devices: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. This year, we don’t expect Google to bring revolutionary upgrades to its handsets, and the Pixel 11 series is likely to receive modest hardware improvements alongside a slew of AI-powered features. Here are the rumored specifications of the Google Pixel 11 series ahead of its official debut: When will the new Pixel phones be unveiled? The last two generations of Google Pixel phones (Pixel 9 series and Pixel 10 series) were launched in August, unlike the previous three generations that debuted in October. With that in mind, we expect Google to unveil the Pixel 11 series sometime in August 2026. The exact launch date has yet to be confirmed. Google Pixel 11 CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines How much will the Pixel 11 series cost? Predicting the final price of upcoming smartphones has become increasingly difficult. As you may know, RAM and memory prices are rising sharply, leading to significant increases in the cost of consumer electronics. Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that price increases for some future Apple products are unavoidable, suggesting that the iPhone 18 series could become more expensive. Google has remained tight-lipped about any potential price increases for the Pixel 11 series. If the company manages to maintain last year’s pricing structure, here’s what the lineup could cost: Pixel 11: $799 Pixel 11 Pro: $999 Pixel 11 Pro XL: $1,199 Pixel 11 Pro Fold: $1,799 Given current market conditions, it may be difficult for Google to avoid raising prices unless it adopts cost-saving measures, such as equipping the base model with 8GB of RAM. Google Pixel 11 series anticipated specs: We expect the Google Pixel 11 series to debut with a new Tensor G6 processor as well as an upgraded camera system. The overall design, however, is expected to remain largely unchanged across the lineup. Specifications Pixel 11 Pixel 11 Pro Pixel 11 Pro XL Pixel 11 Pro Fold Display 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED / 120Hz refresh rate / up to 3100 nits of brightness 6.3-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3600 nits of brightness 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3600 nits of brightness 8-inch inner screen and 6.4-inch outer display, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3600 nits of brightness RAM & Processor Tensor G6 / 8-12GB of RAM Tensor G6 / 12-16GB of RAM Tensor G6 / 12-16GB of RAM Tensor G6 / 16GB of RAM Storage options 128GB or 256GB 256GB, 512GB, 1TB 256GB, 512GB, 1TB 256GB, 512GB, 1TB Camera 50MP main sensor, 13MP ultra-wide, 10.8MP 5x telephoto, 10.5MP front camera 50MP main camera, 48MP ultra-wide, 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom, 42MP selfie camera 50MP main camera, 48MP ultra-wide, 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom, 42MP selfie camera 50MP main camera, 10.5MP ultra-wide camera, 10.8MP telephoto camera, 10MP front camera, 10MP inner camera Battery 4,840 mAh 4,707 mAh 5,000 mAh 4,658 mAh Software Android 17 Android 17 Android 17 Android 17 The Pixel 11 series won’t be a major departure from its predecessor, with Google instead focusing on subtle improvements and AI additions such as Gemini Intelligence. However, a patent filed by Google suggests the company is working on a removable battery for its smartphones, and we could see this feature make its way to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Given that nearly all smartphones today lack removable batteries, such a feature would be a welcome addition to future Pixel devices. That said, it may not arrive with this year’s lineup after all, and the final decision is yet to be made by Google. The Pixel 11 series could also face an uphill battle in the market. In the Android segment, Samsung is performing well with the Galaxy S26 series, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup is also expected to launch next month. On the other hand, Apple is preparing to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September alongside its first foldable iPhone.
    • At least AMD is still taking Windows 10 seriously (after the oops) before it consumer extended support ends. @WaltC - Memories, 2x Voodoo in SLI with a Riva TNT with an Aureal A3D soundcard.
    • So size is the ONLY selling point????? People have been plugging in PC's to TV's in living rooms for 20+ years. I would take a bigger box for more peformance. Also lot and lots of SFF/Mini ITX build guides out there.
