install went without a hitch. I take back what I said about word 12. I think people will just need time to get used to it. It's already exposed more features I never knew how to use before (or existed) and I think that's a really good thing. I just wish there was a more consistent interface across the product line... where's the ribbon for outlook ?

It's in the "New Mail" dialog. MS said that's the only part of Outlook they were updating to the new interface.

yep :angry: it took 2hr to get to 20% finished (when it shoulda been done in a half hour!!!) and now it stopped.. this is so pathetic lol.. hopefully it's back up.. or maybe I will just have to get the torrent of it since it seems that via Microsoft's download mechanism it will take a lot longer than a torrent. They should really look into that lol!!

I know BetaPlace said something about download maintenance occuring between 9 PM and 9:15 PM PST, and its 9:14 right now. But I'm pretty sure I read that it wouldnt affect current downloads, I'm not sure tho.

Have you actually recieved the second welcome message talking about how to access the beta? I only recieved my message at 7 pm, and then I recieved the key at 8 pm :)

Well I guess it's not fully up.. The website is still down but the download is working again. I just had it set to 100 tries for timeouts.. so it just started going again when I got back to the computer.. hopefully yours will work soon :)
