As far as I am aware, Microsoft have not yet handed out the Windows Mail invites, or those that HAVE had some are very few and far between.

there are mail invites for some, go to ideas.live.com, login and if you have some it'll tell you.

The IDEA of this forum is for MEMBERS who Have invites to post that they have them and IF some one wants an invite they are to PM tha MEMBER.

Do all the other invite requesting 0 post count membes understand now?

Probably not...

ok guys screw it... i dont want money.... i just really want someone who has an invite for windows live mail... if anyone has one and sends it to me ill send them both invites for messenger live.... please ANYONE!

I have PM'd you the only way to get into the Mail Live beta, there are no invites, I am a member and have not received any invites... As I have helped you into the Mail beta in the only way possible do I get an invite now?

They wouldn't need 2 invites as when they get 1 they will automatically get 2 anyway

No dear u dont get any invites as soon as u register. Donno whether u get it in future also...

I am shocked to see a supervisor of neowin (Toxicfume) with 5,242 posts not reading the first post and asking for an invite. So why do we blame the innocent n00bs for not reading the first post.

Whats all this crappy posting man i say this thread gets delted we start again

It doesn't help when they have "Request a WLM Invite on the Neowin Forum" on the front page, it brings you here, and then people tell you not to request an invite.

what we really need is a benevolent admin to start a locked thread, and then people with invites PM him/her to put their name and number of invites in it, then people can look at it, but cannot clutter it up with posts requesting invites.

ok i think ms made a big mistake with the WLM invite system. if MS didnt pick you to be in the beta its for a reason. they dont need every n00b online whos sole intention is just to gloat to his n00b peers that he has WML . we are beta testers for a reason.

    • I think the car analogy is more this: Left hand drive, basic commands on the left side of the infotainment screen. Right hand drive, basic commands on the right side of the infotainment screen. Granted, you're not swapping between the two often so it's doesn't really work. But it's to do with the proximity of you (your mouse, or the driver) to the controls.
    • I mean, the old one was broken and so stupidly complex for many users, so I don't see that as a feasible option. A context menu needs to be simple to use, and for me the Windows 11 style actually worked really well for me, and many others. I used to have to scroll the damn context menu just to get to "file properties" in Windows 10. That was not a good experience, and I'm sure you'd agree. What they're trying to do is make it the best of both worlds, as clearly you'd prefer the Win10 style. I'm curious how they're going to do this.
    • The "Show more options" has its place, as does the simpler context menu, but it should perhaps be a separate fly-out rather than relaunching the entire, old context menu. The old context menu was getting absurd in Windows 10. Often I'd have to make the context menu scroll just to get to "File properties" on my old laptop. Even without much installed, the amount of items was just too much. It's a context menu, not a "do all" menu. Making it configurable is fraught with challenges too, so I'm interested to see how Microsoft tackles this one.
    • I don't hate the new menus, I am not a fan of the lack of features and how they went live when they clearly are not complete. The menu itself presents much better than the previous - but what's lacking (IMO) is: 1) Any kind of automated manipulation such as: "this goes on the new menu because you use this feature more often on this filetype" "this is rarely used and will fall back to the old menu" 2) Any kind of user manipulation such as: "a UI to add/remove/order items to the new menu"
