yes yes i kno the rules...no beggers and no non deserving ppl ( aka me ) but if you send me an invite ill be sure to come back on neowin where ive gotten a lot of beta stuff and will for sure give it to two deserving ppl as well... =) plz....PM me =)

exactly. I wanna know how many people, if given the beta, would actually post bugs and suggestions. I certainly will, and have already.

Hoo-Rah beta testers!

Agreed, but remeber these same noobs are responsible for advertising new products. Popularity of gmail is for this reason. I'm sure many people would convert back to hotmail(from gmail) if they got an invite for mail beta.

I know that I'm breaking the rules but (I see that actually 2 rulebreaker netcriminals :p got their invites...) can someone send me an invite pls at alvi_vl_1 at hotmail dot com ???

And sorry for breaking the rules!

I do hope that you are not implicating me in this statement? At no point did I break the rules, I replied to a message somone posted and I then posted a thank you... At no point did I just post my details asking for an invite, I sat and watched the thread until the correct opportunity arose...

err why do you guys still asking for invitations ? this thread for those who are offering , pm them to get your invitations, dont post if you dont have any invitation! is it hard to understand?

It's a case of extreme undersupply. For every invite that is posted, there are 20 or 25 people trying to get it. The odds of getting a PM off before anyone else are probably smaller than the odds of someone reading your email address and sending you an invite.

The really irritating part of this for me is that I actually got an email inviting me into the beta. When I went to use the invitation code, all of the places were filled, or it was invalid... a real **** off...

lmao wow some ppl dont read at all , i made a post eariler few posts up from now about windows live mail beta and i got about 5-6 PM's from ppl asking for an invite to Windows Live Messenger ...ppl read....geez i said live mail not messenger....god

yah well serpentuk some ppl are registering on neowin jus to ask for an invite....like comm on you really think they're gonna get on over you...if they do...wow...jus wow..and yes i want one too..but you kno im jus hoping someone is generous enough to send me one...ill report bugs as i do for windows live mail, thats why i signed up for it, and yes its nice (windows live mail that is)

Maybe an inventive story will garner an invite...

I deserve an WLM invite because I have a very rare disease called tumorous syphilusitisosis. I only have about 60 more years to live. Have pity on a dying guy and grant his dieing wish.

Although I'm a recent addition to the member-base, i've been surfing this site for years.

Some of the noobs have no etiquette, and deserve to be beaten with their own arms... yes.

Yet, there are others among us that have done the forum perusing for a long long time.

And i'd be happy to plead my case for an invite to anyone willing to listen (or that wants a 50 foot personalized statue of themselves.... yeah.... that's right..... with.... free delivery.... that sounds good).

yeh im happy to wait my time...lol...messenger 7.5 does the job for me at the moment and im not bothered. Just saying it makes it pointless that you join and then ask get invite and then fly off never to return :|

    • I think the car analogy is more this: Left hand drive, basic commands on the left side of the infotainment screen. Right hand drive, basic commands on the right side of the infotainment screen. Granted, you're not swapping between the two often so it's doesn't really work. But it's to do with the proximity of you (your mouse, or the driver) to the controls.
    • I mean, the old one was broken and so stupidly complex for many users, so I don't see that as a feasible option. A context menu needs to be simple to use, and for me the Windows 11 style actually worked really well for me, and many others. I used to have to scroll the damn context menu just to get to "file properties" in Windows 10. That was not a good experience, and I'm sure you'd agree. What they're trying to do is make it the best of both worlds, as clearly you'd prefer the Win10 style. I'm curious how they're going to do this.
    • The "Show more options" has its place, as does the simpler context menu, but it should perhaps be a separate fly-out rather than relaunching the entire, old context menu. The old context menu was getting absurd in Windows 10. Often I'd have to make the context menu scroll just to get to "File properties" on my old laptop. Even without much installed, the amount of items was just too much. It's a context menu, not a "do all" menu. Making it configurable is fraught with challenges too, so I'm interested to see how Microsoft tackles this one.
    • I don't hate the new menus, I am not a fan of the lack of features and how they went live when they clearly are not complete. The menu itself presents much better than the previous - but what's lacking (IMO) is: 1) Any kind of automated manipulation such as: "this goes on the new menu because you use this feature more often on this filetype" "this is rarely used and will fall back to the old menu" 2) Any kind of user manipulation such as: "a UI to add/remove/order items to the new menu"
