Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 build 5291

Recommended Posts

i think its funny how people complain saying IE doesn't have this and that like firefox (or any other browser), then when Microsoft decides to put it in, they complain more saying they copied firefox (or any other browser) and can't come up with their own ideas.

Since people are saying that IE looks like FF, Opera, and Maxathon, I hereby conclude that:

1. Firefox looks like Opera.

2. Maxathon looks like Firefox.

3. All browsers look essentially the same.

and that

4. People bag Microsoft software just because it's Microsoft. I put my money on that they don't know why they hate Microsoft either.

looks like somebody (*cough* microsoft) is stealing from AOL...

AOL Explorer first featured that "Mosaic" feature which shows mini-previews of all the open tabs...except AOL does it better :) :) :)

Yeah I know the AOL Browser is far better than IE7.

i preferd the nice blueness that it does on vista, that was sweet, and i like the idea of having the tabs on the same line as some of the buttons *waits for someone to make a firefox extension that does it*

all in all, il end up downloading it anyway, i use ie for windows update and my hotmail and even with all the new stuff il still be using firefox as my main browser

but atleast its getting closer, they should fo done this a wile ago

beta 1 looked awful. i think this looks pretty nice with the exception of the search button looking like it is too low in the button space and that the bottom got clipped. can't wait to try it out.

what the hell do you expect from microsoft i mean beta 1 come on look at beta 1 of vista

i think ie7 is on its way microsoft will finally have something right

its taken them time but fair go

i can't wait for beta 2 of ie 7 to come out

clearly its alot better then ie6 and covers alot of security issues

Firefox was a copy of IE

And what features? Tabs? Firefox wasn't first with those. RSS reader? Not first. Search bar? Not first.

FF wasn't a copy of IE - it evoled from Mozilla which came from Netscape (Way before IE became popular)

And FF and Mozilla had most of thoses back in 2003 - Before they even thought of IE7.

i think its called Maxthon.

Thanks to "theavidgeek" for sorting the source from which this news originated from :) I just like being appreciated for my work :) hehe

Anyway, let's hope this build get's released soon, it's still not known where the screens actually came from.. but apparently a very reliable source.

My understanding is that AOL Explorer uses whatever IE version you have installed (6.0 or 7.0).

I went to about and all I see is:

Nope, it's the latest beta build of AOL Explorer that uses IE7, I think you can get the beta from aol.com

There isn't a beta build of AOL Explorer. AOL Explorer 1.2 (the build in that screen shot) was release a couple of weeks ago.

I think QuickTabs is a great feature - if anyone can refer me to a FF extension that can do that, I'd appreciate it.

I use Tabview the most.

The IE7 UI you see poking through in this concept shot is what would kill Firefox.

Wow, that concept shot looks very interesting. And nice.

The download manager could use some work, else fanboys here will just yell out "RIP OFF!"

Why would it be fake?

It looks pretty much like the Vista version in 5270 with a few changes. It's not done yet, but I think they're moving in the right direction with it.

the right direction will be when the put the tabs UNDER the "file, edit, etc." bar. which is the proper way to do it ;)

    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.

    • Or use Epic games and get full games for free. lol Steam and their demos. Thankfully there’s competition
    • Maybe I missed it, but does this say anywhere that the game save bug has been squashed? I haven't encountered it myself, but it would be nice to know I'm good to go. Anyway, amazingly well done game. Mostly more of the same. ...but when the same is best in class with improved graphics and features, then a win.
    • Well when your game flops, you should expect this. If I do bad at work, I would expect a layoff. Less than 1600 people played it on steam. https://steamdb.info/app/1934570/charts/
