mmm..maybe you've misunderstood me.

what i mean is NOT to show recently used applications (i know that they appear normal), i want to show my added links normal instead bold :)

Not sure but I think if you search for [startPanel.MorePrograms] and delete the bold text from the Font line it might work. :)

EDIT: Didn't work. You'll have to open the theme in stylebuilder and change the Style > Normal > Substitution

and here is the taskband flash button i did to get rid of the orange.

post-16704-1138570450.png <----you should probably resave that as a bmp.

StevoFC, how did you manage to display the MorePrograms on StartPanelPlacesBackground?

This is what I achieved by decreasing the DefaultPanesize for the StartPanelMFUBackground.

Is there any "how to" guide ...

Open the vs in RESedit and find the info you have copied as it should be in there. Do a search for it. Once you found it replace it with the info you copied from his post, save it and load the skin.

Why is that when I do that and try to apply the VS it only shows up in the appearance window as black..like it does when you dont have patched the uxtheme??

edit. it also does that even if I only change one number or margin???

Why don't u just use the minimize button?

Cause people who use Trillian will probably complain and want a real minimize button. I kinda like having a real one too. Last time I tried using the close button though and they wanted a minimize one. Especially since the min and hide buttons show in the same window sometimes

ok got it done with the black but when i do it with the blue i end up with the black start panel and everything else is blue ?? i copied all what what stevofc said and replaced it but this must just work with the black VS does any one know how to get it to work with the blue one ?

Thanks

If you check the data you copied form StevoFC you will see it say "Black" quite often in it. To make it work with the Blue substyle change all those to "Blue" and you should be set :)

ok i have it copied and have regedit open now what do i do ? where do i put the text that i have copied to i paste it somewhere ?

open the msstyle in resedit, and look through the folders until you see some text. Find the specific one that steve told you to replace, replace it, then compile script, then save it in the file menu. Viola

I love this theme so much. My only complaints are I loved the LE4 alternative start buttons the best.

And I have one bug:

I'm using 5.0.3, and the black version looks great, but in the blue version the Selected Items color is Gray instead of the light blue like it shows on your screenshot. This ugly gray selection makes the whole blue theme look ugly. Atleast I can use the black.

That is not a bug, but a wanted change made by the author. Check the changelog, you'll find that.

there is no way to do it like you tried. you have to leave the left part of the start panel (ProgList) showing so that you can see all programs. you just basically size it to not show the right side (PlacesList) and copy the shortcuts over to the left. just drag them over. except for Run. that is a little more complicated.

    • I just started using Teams (and “New” Oiutlook) at work (instead of Slack) and both are truly abysmal pieces of software.
