Well...give or take up to a week after the release date to get it, I've only had my 360 since xmas 06 so I'm not sure if the update is readily available to everyone on the day of release.

They might slowly echo it across some servers to certain consoles in order to reduce the load.

You need to launch a game for it to update, and theres another way as well.. I think signing in and out, but not sure.

And it won't be out for another...2-3 hours? 11pm AEST = 9am.. but I think it came out at about 7am-8am their time.. which makes sense, when Xbox Live people arrive for work.

The Xbox.com forum is full of people saying it will be released tomorrow (Major Nelson said there was still no definite date in his podcast, and someone phoned Xbox Support and the rep there said May 8th at no specific time), so don't sit there anxiously waiting for it.

The most official date we've had was 'week commencing May 7th', which would indicate that it could be any day this week.

I'm sure Major Nelson will update us at some point today.

I think he was referring to the keyboard attachment for the controller. The spring update is this week (hopefully in the next couple of days!).
