Intel iMac running XP!

Recommended Posts

looks like Narf2006 finally did it (unlike the fake vista screenshot (well with his technique you could install vista too))

Narf2006 had been working on an homemade CSM module for the Intel mac for the contest and he just updated his flickr with some promising screenshots :)

doesnt look right i must say but if its real then the world is doomed

well at least he didnt just pop out of nowhere, he's been on the contest page before and has been talking to the guy running the contest about his progress (and he's the only one that was working on a CMS as far as i know)

How did he do it? Its just pictures where are the words for once!

he created a CSM (which is the bios compatibility layer, which is lacking in the intel macs)

Isn't there a CSM in the Tianocore SDK? Why doesn't he use that instead of making his own?

my guess is that it would be hard to make it compatible with the imac (but im not 100% sure)

Don't You mean CSM not CMS?

CMS is a Content Management System

yes i do.... sorry about that

oh btw if his solution is working this would also mean most x86 OS should run on the new macs (ie: Win2k, Vista, Linux (without the EFI hacks))

You are missing the point. It is to prove the point that you CAN do it..not all the BS about EFI preventing Xp from landing in Mac.

Whether it is sad or not, that's your problem.

Light bends/bleeds...especially with that big of a contrast..(white/black)

A sad moment in time...

Because the iMac uses a Conroe? So I could say, sad moment in time for PCs?

A few of the others look slightly odd also.

It strikes me as strange that someone who has an iMac, and all this time to carry out low-level programming, doesn't own a digital camera that produces photographs of a decent quality!

Dougal.
