Well I got ready to go, and came across an error that said "Your startup disk cannot be partitioned because verification failed"

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I tried going into the Disk Utility on the OSX Install disk, but it seemed like it wanted to totally erase everything to partition my disk. Which I dont wanna do

Help is appreciated!

Microsoft is a software company so this is great news for them!!! This is just the beginning of the matriculation of Apple into a complete Consumer Electronics company. Within the decade they will either be like Dell, making desktop computers/ipods/servers/laptops, all in their shiny hardware in 'minimilist' packaging all sporting the Windows OS, or a music distribution company. The writing is on the wall for those with common sense and that don't pray to Steve Jobs before drinking a glass of Steve's Kool-Aid before bed time. Dvorak was right.

Well with full drivers for Windows XP = Gaming.

The main concern from most enthusiast users on internet forums is that they cant switch because of there games! They love games (hell I love games) and this is what stops them from switching.

Ahh of course :) ... thank god Bizzard are an awsome dev house and make for mac and windows :D

Would be cool if leapord could do a dashboard(ish) effect or even Fast User switching to change to XP - would make my life as a web developer a hell of alot easier too :)

My Jaw hit the floor when I saw this on the main page... :| :woot:    :D all emotions went crazy......such a beautiful [ ] site! MAYBE NOW I CAN GET A MAC! MY dad was always like " yes! they are gorgeous and fun to use, bt for you...no productivity would come from it ".

Now I can tell him:

1. Universal Binarys [not really mainstream, but will be].

2. Intel Chips

3. USE XP!!! SO ALL MY PROGRAMS WILL RUN!!!!

Dont leave comments about your dad doesnt have to do anything, I'm just happy and excited even though the answer will still be no.

Anywyas...DID YOU GUYS SEE HOW TO PARTITION THE DRIVES!!!! :woot: JUST DRAG THE CURSOR OVER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT depending on which OS u want to have how much space. I was hoping one day for a simple way to get XP on MACS, with a graphical interface install...now Apple is making their own! OMG!

Gotta love what Apple wrote on their Boot Camp site:

EFI and BIOS

Macs use an ultra-modern industry standard technology called EFI to handle booting. Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS. But with Boot Camp, the Mac can operate smoothly in both centuries.

   GOTTA LOVE APPLE!

Games runs pretty good.

Here any Screenshots. but in German.

all i can say:

amazing...

for the people who cant understand german:

infact the tested game (flatout) runs excellent, even with all details up and the native display resolution of the mac book pro.

The only downside to all this is that it's Windows XP SP2 bonded. You can't install any other Windows system, so that's something they might want to work on. Especially with Windows Vista's release somewhere this century.

How is it SP2 bonded? I would think the only reason Apple is requiring SP2 is because all Intel Macs use SATA, which was not supported until SP2.

    • Yup, broke my comp… again. its times like this when I regret AMD. This just never happens on NV.
    • Huh? You're delusional calling the Steam Deck dead. It is so successful that it has sold out multiple times. Even after the price hike this year it sold out again with 24 hours of being back in stock. The demand is real and has not died down even after four years.
