The Official NDS Homebrew Thread

you didn't say you were doing that :p

but anyways... my ds does that exact same thing when i boot it up without the SuperCard in the GBA slot... it SEEMS like your SuperCard is borked.

That is what I was scared of...I hope it's not true.

OK forgive the totaly noob question but.... I've got an order in for a Supercard/key and a mini-sd.... How does one get files from your computer to the cards?

Thanks for your indulgence.

You need an SD card reader for ur computer.

Or be like me, and use the digital camera as the SD card reader :p

you need a card reader. usually an SD card reader will do, as most miniSD cards come with an SD card adapter :)

Now that is a good idea.. i think i'll do that,

I was going to do that then realised I couldnt find the cable for my camera :(

Bought a cheap card reader as even though my laptop had one built in, it refused to recognise the 2gig card, but did find my old 512meg one

Just finally got beup working on my DS and all i can say is WOW amazing little program. New update http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?p=94404#94404 now allows you to add avatars (although I cant seem to get this working for some reason, will need to look into it more i guess) simply amazing :)

Just thought that I would share that the DS-Xtreme is now for sale @ Divineo ($125)...this card is awesome and probably the first of a slew of items like itself to come. But on this one-their is a huge downside...it is fixed memory (512MB), and after having a my SCLite/Superkey, I now see that I can fill up a 1GB card in minutes.

that's crazy...no way I'll pay that amount for a card that has such small fixed memroy.

if they don't drop the price.. I don't think they'll get as many sales as they should.

At least we can still look forward to the DSlink. As long as it has passme fuctinality and < $100, it's a sure winner.

I've had a Supercard for a few weeks now and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it to work with SNES DS

I've got most games + homebrew working just not this one app. Any advise?

Hey, I actually just figured it out myself...atleast I got it to work on a few games. When I get to my home PC I will post the link here that showed me EXACTLY how to do it for the Supercards...it's not too hard.

is it 512 mega bytes or mega bits? If it is megabytes then that is ~4gigabits and isn't that bad considering it will hold about 14-20 nintendo ds backups.

It's 512MegaBYTES...

And trust me, depending on the game, you would be lucky to get more than 8 or 9 games on there...I have a 1GB microSD card in my SCLite and I can only hold about 17 games, so divide that in half for you...plus a lot of games are about 64MB each.

How big are the homebrew apps on average?

I'm looking at the SC Lite and thinking of getting 512MB card. I think 8 or 9 games for me is fine... don't think I will be playing all those games at once anyways... I usually concentrate on one or two at a time.

well, for the small price difference ($10 or so) I say just go ahead and get the full 1GB. As far as homebrew apps size, I am not sure, i am mostly just running my backup NES, SNES, and DS games.

Most homebrew is less than 10MB. But consider if you want to use the homebrew media player, you'd have to have space for media.

Thanks both for the info.

DSFTP v1.6: An FTP Server for the Nintendo DS

It's an FTP server for the Nintendo DS, and he describes it as "a full-fledged FTP server, with the additional ability to boot .nds files directly from the FTP prompt (currently only tested on SuperCard CF)".

It's an interesting concept, but you might not want to play around with it if you're not familiar with FTP server mysteries.

    • The level of stupidity at Google and Microsoft is beyond belief. All they are doing by killing this is forcing people to jump over to Firefox and ditch them all together, therefore giving Firefox the market boost it needs to finally crush them all in the end.
