Excellent skin. I noticed one bug, there's no way to close the Album Art window other than to click on the notifier again.

Also, the notifier seems to work much better than in the ClearONE skin so whatever you did differently in this one you might want to put in the ClearONE skin :) Those slow notifier problems never did go away in the end with the beta :(

Yeah, making a light version for every color theme really increased the filesize. I ended up just including one set. Do you have any themes you'd like to submit FineWolf? I really liked the Vista theme you contributed to clearONE.

Working on them ;) As of Light/Non-light... maybe making the option scriptable (in the config window) would reduce filesize...

Oh, another question... is there a way to hide the (Track #) and the (##:##) next to the album and track title?

Hmm, not really a bug per se, more like a design decision. You'll also notice in Simplicity that there are no close buttons for the Visualizer or Video windows (this does not apply to SimplicityClear btw).

It's gotta be the desktop alpha that was killing the notifier speed. I'm working on an update for the beta now, I'll see what I can do...

Yes, but you'll have to muck with the code. And which album and track are you wanting to remove that text from? The notifier or normal mode (with coverart)? If you're not up to editing and compiling the maki, I might do a special version for you without that text. I gotta finish the beta update first though.

Normal Mode with CoverArt... I guess Ill try messing up with the maki, if I can figure out how to compile... But I think "Length Next to Title" & "Track # Next to Album" should be in a config pane called "CoverShade", as the option for "Light Text" ;)

Thank you bobp and Brodel.

Here's how you do it FW, but it's kinda a pain to setup at first: first place these files in a directory called "lib" in your Winamp directory. Copy mc.exe (above) to your Winamp directory and then follow the instuctions in the attached zip. The zip files enable you to right-click an .m file (an uncompiled script in the skin) and then choose "Winamp Compile" to compile it. Don't right-click the .maki files though, they are already compiled. Like I said it's a bit of a hassle to get setup, but after you do, you'll be rolling.

The file you want to look at to remove the track info is coversize.m. Open it and search for "Track". You should find it easily. The next part is easy to remove the xx:xx, just open player-large.xml and add showlen="0" to the Large.title text. After that, right-click the system.m file and choose Winamp Compile.

Like I said, I'll do it for you, just give me a second to finish the beta update.

Winamp_Compile.zip

How do I use the color editor? I can't for the life of me make one that matches the InspiratSE VS by stefanka. I've moved the sliders back and forth, applied the changes but can't seem to get the results I want. Anyone here willing to teach a sorry soul how to use the color editor?  :pinch:

Most of the folk here bar none have only said positive things about your work! I have to add my 5 cents, totally excellent stuff. I have been using this since you first released it and have yet to find any better skin for WinAmp! Fantastic work man, keep it going! Thanks again, it is people like yourself that make the internet and computers the fun it is! Cheers!

Nice, the ol' guru meditation I presume? Which version (clear or not) are you getting the error with? And have you downloaded the latest build? I've changed a few things in the past few days, though the version number has not changed.

I've added the ability to choose between the ML button or the DL (dynamic library) button. Just right-click the ML button to choose which one you want. There's also instructions on the Hints and Tips page.

It was the clear version I think, doesn't come out anymore though (Changed to solid).

Anyway - I'll keep you updated if I find anything "wrong" with the skin. Only bad point I think is when I change tracks while playing Quake III or Warcraft III my framerate drops. (Because of the pop-up notifier) Not a problem really.

I tried out the shadows awhile back with this skin, but decided against including them. I guess because the font is so small they just seemed too overpowering.

Then maybe a 40% opacity rectangle right behind the text would do it... White if the text is black, black if the text is white...

How do you switch from the main window showing the volume bar to one that doesnt have it? The preview for Simplicity [solid] has one and the preview for Simplicity Clear doesn't. Where is the option for that?

Right-click the cover art in the main window and choose "Default".

Here's what that looks like added to the notifier. Is this what you mean? If not, please give me a screenshot so I can better understand what you're getting at.

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
