Wow, ok this one pic does look pretty good, but that is perfectly possible using the current Trillian (except for the dynamically expanding height).

There is no chance of them getting my money considering they flat out ignored paying customer's requests/comments/cries of despiration for a Native UI option. Oh, and take note: that is not glass or anything fancy like that, that is just making the entire application 70% transparent ... big F-ing deal. We can do that with any number of applications in Windows XP already.

Talk about a lack of innovation.

Here is the pic for those curious.

looks awesome.. but looks like a 8 month old pregnant woman......

Looks more like a cellphone on my desktop than a IM client

all I am worried about is how does it perform. Is it fast? Does it take forever to load? thats all I care about

the tiled contacts is the stupidest idea ever.

isnt there a skin for native UI? i remember seeing one. well, the whole point of nUI is not to have a skin

=\

i hope they give this for free to everyone who already paid, since it was assumed when they first launched it and they hyped up another release soon

As far as I know they basically said, "no, we have no plans of including a native UI option. stop asking us." ...

Now, I could be wrong, and maybe they finally saw the freaking light, but when I they asked for feature requests and I posted that one (along with about 10 other people) they basically ignored them (and deleted my request for it in fact). Cute huh? What a great way to communicate with your customers....ignore the requests you just asked for. :|

****ty business practice if you ask me. I'd be one thing if they offered a few updates in the meantime and maybe at a major release like this charge $5 to upgrade, but I'm not going to keep paying for software that isn't regularly supported just to be able to use it.

Dude, they ARE charging you $5 for this upgrade if you already had a subscription that is expired. I had a Trillian subscription for a long time, but after a couple of MSN bugs with Trillian 3.1 I cancelled it.

Now if Astra comes out, all I need to do is take a new subscription and fill in my old subscription details. Then they won't charge ya $25 but $5. It has been like this forever!

BTW, I really do like the interface. Sure it is bloated, but tiling seems funny.

Haha, but it still has a scrollbar!

hah, you're right. I didn't even notice that.

That bugs the crap out of me with Trillian 3.1 right now. I have my bud list stretched the whole height of my desktop, my bud list is not nearly long enough to require a scrollbar, and yet the damn thing is displayed.

Simple things like this that make me wonder why I would pay for buggy software when GAIM/Miranda are plenty powerful with the same or fewer bugs.

So who is going to be nice and let the rest of the world play with this? Damn I have been a supporter of Trillian since the .7 days and never liked the fact that I didn't get a response to test this yet.

Anyone...............

I swear, this has got to be the longest testing cycle for any piece of software out there. This had better be one hell of an improvement from 3.1

Guys, i can tell you: It rocks! :) This is hopefully getting some people from MSN back to Trillian! :)

It's great that it rocks....I'd wish that they'd open it up to more testing. They have been previewing it/alpha testing it for almost a year now.

Its time to let the child grow up.

    • My son is in Monaco right now, and I was checking his location in Apple's Find My app. I noticed that Prince Albert's Palace was blurred out on the satellite imagery in both Find My and Apple Maps. I checked Google Maps, and the palace wasn't blurred there. Does Apple have some kind of process where property owners can request that their homes be blurred on Apple Maps?
    • No, it was THAT ugly and I’d rather forget it completely existed.
    • There is a lot of reasons not to use Edge but faster fixes and security updates is not one of them.
    • Can't reproduce. I installed Edge, went to neowin.net > accepted the cookie consent > used menu to go to forums, everything loads and I can browse around the forums. If you can't interact with the dialog on the forums for some reason, go to the main site and accept the cookie consent there? It is true that the site will not function properly until the cookie consent is accepted or rejected,. it's a legal requirement and I also know that certain VPN/ad blockers block it, which is a user related issue and not a neowin.net problem.   This is not our cookie consent dialog. Gotta love browser hijacking... /s Edit: this may be what Californians see, I will confirm with our consent provider.
