He was burned with gasoline, not acid like in the comics. I initially thought he was dead as well...but He and Batman both had the same landing and Batman walked away.

Batman was wearing protected pads that could help his fall. Two Face was tackled by Batman. He could have broken his neck. Who knows. But I don't think he's alive.

Yeah I was thinking maybe batman fell first on way down thus he landed on batman but got knocked unconcious...who knows tho only Nolan really knows

Did you just compare one of the best movies ever made to Gears of War, which has to be some of the worst writing ever, and Halo?

i couldnt think of any other examples, feel free to think of some of your own where characters have died and have been brought back to life to continue their actions - such as Gordon

(Y) Yeah, a wiki entry. Here let me change it now...

We can't really know what Nolan is planning. He even introduced a fake character, Rachel. So, for all we know he could have killed Two-face if he wanted too.

As for the third movie (if it does happen), Nolan will bring a new villain or a villain never been used in the previous films.

In the first movie we used Ra?s Al Ghul and the Scarecrow who had not been in the movies before and had not been in the 60s TV show and there are dozens, if not hundreds of other characters that fit that bill. Everyone says you have to use the Penguin or Catwoman. Well, I completely dJONATHAN NOLAN:NOLAN: There?s a very deep roster of great characters over seventy years.

I'm not agreeing with what he said, but jeez back off a little. The movie was good but not the best ever. Gears and Halo both had decent story lines and were far from the worst so chill. :p

that was one of a dozen sites that correctly stated it was gasoline...in the comic book someone from a crowd throws a vial of acid at him. Acid-depending on the type- is corrosive and will eat the skin away, if it were acid why did we see shots of him lying in it and not in pain, nothing going on other than his talking on the speakerphone? Second point, when he's lying in the hospital bed, the first time we see his disfigured face it was charred and blackened--not melted as acid would.

Yeah plus when it happened and Batman saved him his face was just wet but when the building went up his face caught light because of the flames

Even if that's the case, just further goes to show that Nolan isn't following the comics. So, Harvey Dent could be dead for all we know.

Yeah I was thinking maybe batman fell first on way down thus he landed on batman but got knocked unconcious...who knows tho only Nolan really knows

we saw him on the ground before Batman fell....remember batman saved the kid and was hanging from that pole/piece of wood/whatever it was sticking out the side...after Gordon took his son from him batman then fell....Dent was already on the ground...

Aaron Eckhart would reprise his role from The Dark Knight - because working with Christian Bale is "phenomenal".

Eckhart, who plays District Attorney Harvey Dent in the sequel, confesses he "absolutely" would star in a third Batman film.

He tells WENN, "To work with Christian (Bale) all over again, and the cast, would be phenomenal. I think this movie is a movie of a lifetime."

well i think that puts an end to this. he is alive until written otherwise, since he can reprise the role

So basically Two face is not dead... awesome, can't wait to see third part! Did anyone also smell to Penguin? :shifty:

Except that it says he would not that he is.

many movies have had character's seemingly die only for them to appear later on or in the next part i cant think of any examples in other films but in the dark knight Gordon "dies" but appears later

in games Carmine dies in gears of war but will be back, in halo the Sgt dies TWICE but comes back

so im sure Two-face will be back

Yeah, but Gordon "dying" and coming back was a given since he's such a pivotal character to the Batman story (not to mention it was kind of predictable). It's kind of fuzzy since it's been a while now since I saw the movie, but I at I remember it Two Face's eyes were open, which makes it much more likely that he is really dead since he didn't move at all.

Just got back from seeing this. It was a bit of an interesting experience as Britain is having a bit of a heat wave at the minute and the air con in our screen was broken - we were told we could either wait for a later showing or get a refund, or of course stick it out. Which the whole screen bar about 2 people did. It was agonizingly hot but I only really noticed the heat a few times in the film because it was SO SO good.

Ah the darkness, the score, the characters... I loved it. Really, really really excellent film and so sad that Heath Ledger will never be able to reprise his (excellent) role as the Joker.

Still don't understand how this film got a 12A rating in the UK though - really.

Two-Face fell without holding on to anything. He fell faster because Batman pushed him with a force and he didn't hang on anything, making his velocity far greater, meaning a higher chance of injury. He also was already injured from the fire let's not forget and a car crash that flipped, even if he was wearing a seat belt.

Batman, as someone else said, had a suit that likely had much more padding. He also fell a shorter distance by roughly 6" because he was hanging on something. He wasn't thrown down like Two-Face was.

Two Face's eyes were wide open and there was a funeral in place with a coffin. Unless the Nolan brothers are going to get really cheap, which I doubt happens, he's not coming back. I can't see it. I don't picture the Nolans doing that.

Except that it says he would not that he is.

thats why i said that he is a live until stated otherwise, just like raz'ah ghul could still be alive, nolan said in past interviews he didn't want to kill the main villians because then you are onto 2nd and 3rd tier villians

guys, you know the scene where the Joker taunts the detective guarding him and asks him how many of his friends were killed, and the detective answers "six"?

What did the Joker mouth then? I thought it was 'six' and after looking at this video and turning the volume up it looks like he mouths 'ten' and I can actually hear "T" from the "ten".

the 30-second mark.

Incredible movie. Ledger's Joker made Jack Nicholson's look like a party clown.

His performance will be remembered in years to come as on a par with Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter.

Such a shame that the rest of the case was just 'good' (i.e. not incredibly spell-binding). I've no idea who could have held presence opposite ledger in the bat suit better than Bale, but he definitely paled in comparison.

Just a crying shame he wont be playing the role again.
