Finally got mine too! Only wanted Windows Vista, don't need office, though kinda wish I had gotten office as well, I still use office 98 haha (Only gets used once every 6 months, at most).

Had a few bumps along the way with Vista, but nothing that didn't take a few seconds to fix. No games though...no Solitaire or nothing. (I know, bussiness don't need games lol). Still pretty good OS. Still suprised MS gave it out for free lol

You can still burn it to a CD, but it will just be files and not an ISO. Either way, you got a backup.

My neighbor actually has an MSDN subscription through his business and he is downoading me a copy of the Office 2007 Professional ISO. I'm assuming the key I just got in the mail will work with it.

I got my copy today but i will wait until i increase my ram to 1GB. I hope prices go down when vista comes out because DDR2 Ram is expensive right now. I will also order the 64 bit DVD from the website if the offer is good for us Power Together customers.

I will wait a while until I upgrade to Ultimate for MCE, I may need to find another HDTV tuner to replace my HDTV Wonder if ATI doesnt doesnt want to make 64 bit drivers for the tuner card.

I really wish they would provide you with an ISO image of Office rather than the executable file. It would be nice to burn this to CD.

Just extract the .exe file with WinRAR to it's own folder and then burn the contents of that folder complete with Autorun.

I got my Vista Business today. If anyone wants it pm me for $ and via pay pal its yours!!! I already have Ultimate and don't need business.

Mike

Get a life!! I also received a copy from M.S. AND OWN EVERY WINDOW from 98 to VISTA Ultimate. I might pay you negative one cent for your copy lol.....

Got Office only here in Indianapolis. I only did Office as by the time I got to Vista it was sold out. I wish that I had managed to get Vista done. I already have Office 2007 from that "Ready for a new day" launch event. Now I have 2 copies of Office 2007.

It is interesting to note that is says, "Office 12 Eval" on the packing slip.

Umm you realize the games are on the CD, they just aren't installed by default right?

edit: And I'm waiting. I probably have a week or so because I didn't fax my W-9 in until Wednesday last week. I was too busy to go send a fax. Stupid law school. Now I have to wait for both Vista and Office.

PS Tersanyus I'd be happy to take the extra office off your hands :p

Ehh.... think I'll hold on to it! It will be useful for a 2nd PC.

I just wish I had been able to get both Vista and Office. It would have been nice to have one PC that has it's OS and Office installed free.

Just received my copy of Office today!! That's all I got. Don't need Vista. New computer won't be built until the end of the year.

BTW, I'm in Hutchinson, Kansas.

I have an MSDN account and have Vista Ultimate running on my laptop now. I am waiting on my Vista Business in the mail now. Someday soon I hope.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are there people who haven't received theirs yet? I just want to make sure I am not alone.

You are not alone! Are you supposed to recieve Vista and office, or just one of them? And where are you located?

I am supposed to receive both, I'm in Norther IL and have not received them yet.

that rocks... can't wait for the mail, usually 2pm-ish... hope vista gets here :) (in northeast KS) ...wish I'd done office too...

    • Why would any self-respecting intelligent person follow any recommendation by Donald's GOP administration? With almost two years of fabrications, deceit, and blatantly illegal behavior, why believe them now? They had best be gone after the November 2026 election, so we'll wait and see.
    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
    • OK so SearXNG is a meta search engine that you can install locally or use via a public instance. It scrapes other search engines which you choose and then sorts the results. Not as complicated as multiple relays
