Puzzle Box 4

Ahem, I finally have it.

Hardee...hardee...ah deer...ah deer...surprised...doh ah deer! (reference to the simpsons)...doh ah deer!...sound of music...von Trapp...in 2006 revival cast(from wiki), Max is played by the only actor/ess that has an I name...Ian....Ian is male...the 4th Loki loved the story of the brothers....why...because she really is a male(!), therefore Ian is the I name.

Also, in the "what is my name?", only one of the loki moves significantly when asking...the second one...her left arm comes all the way down.

My bet is: Lorelei Odessa Kara Issaquena

You missed one thing:

Follow this trail to get the word it leads to.

It says "word", not "place" or "county". The word is "Hardee". Your bet makes nothing of that word.

I do wonder, though, what the meaning of "TANLI" is!? Maybe the letters of "TANLI" and "HARDEE" need to be combined...!?!?

I dunno, as you pointed out it says "Follow this trail to get the word it leads to"

So we are looking for an "I" word, associated with Hardee, MS - and only single word I can find

related to that place is "Issaqena" <---- YES this should be "Issaquena"

I guess we'll see

Hey Guys, 2 cents to add. (BTW I entered this as my final answer). Try not to look too hard. Loki was the master of trickery of course. I did a search for Hardee and TANIL and got ONE result in Yahoo. This has been a pretty exact contest/game so far. They haven't been vague about anything I can think of. I found an "obscure" paper about fertility of women in IZMIT, Turkey. All the other names (except maybe Kara) are locations too.

Obscure Paper

I'm done...

DW

the word was actually TANLI - if I do a google search for that and hardee, I just get a huge list of random words, presumably a list for cracking passwords...

not a big thing but since we are talking about needing the exact name..I figured I would point out that "Issaquena" is spelled with a "qu"

as soon as someone posted about hardee i looked at map and saw issaquena i stil think tanali and issaquina = latin aqua sign, at first i thaugh it was ictus becaus its a part but i realy think its ibis which will be my final answer.

looking for it i found this weird site: http://www.theibisofficial.net/story.html nothing but a very specific story some interesting points (and a picularly non functional website): first to appear last to leave (vid 1 bird of paradise flower, name 4) its also oldest folklore in egypt, when he is spoken about in relation to toth the ibis represents higher intelegence.

sorry about the spelling, hope im wright

Hmm.... just thinking - why would she be so specific to have that town as the ending point (and even showing it marked with an X on the map) if all we need to know is the county name?

Offtopic: does login.live.com not work for anyone else? lol

Yeah I was thinking the same thing which is why my guess is that the county is irrelevant. Plus the bit about "even small places have names".

My solution is tanli -> sounds like Stanley -> both stanley and hardie have an "E" sound -> e is the first letter of the work earthquake -> there was an earthquake here a few days ago -> New Zealand is the first place to get vista -> Microsoft have developed technology to cause earthquakes and are spreading it via the vista software -> Microsoft will soon make itself dictator of the world -> A dictator is a tyrant -> Another word for dictator is inqusitor -> The final name is INQUISITOR!

Check and mate!

Agree, the whole thing doesn't make too much sense, and there are still clues hanging out there

that don't fit yet.

Going back to the names, why are we so sure that the answer is the names of the four sisters ?

As I said before Odessa doesn't exactly fit as a japanese name and less Issaquena that is a name

derived from a combination of two Chocktaw indian words: issa, meaning deer, and okhina, the

poetic name of river (water road). You will obviously find numerous hits searching for issa but

it has nothing to do with Latin.

I just put in my final answer "Lorelei, Odessa, Kara, Issaquena " which I'm sure many other have already used. Hopefully, it is the right answer and all those people that put in a correct answer but weren't the first will still get one of the prizes (wishful thinking).

I like the Ivy answer since it also plays on the "even the smallest places have names" and it incorporates TANLI....but there is something to me that still seems out of place about it and Issaquena is the one thing that does appear to be related to the last location.

In any case...just wanted to say thanks to everyone ..... a fantastic group of people are here .... it reenforces the notion that highly motivated teams self organize.

It would be good to hear from those people that do win something...I'm certain someone in this group will get something.

Good Luck!

    • Exciting! It’s amazing how hearing Japanese can naturally enhance the perceived quality of any experience or product.
    • Your other comment in another article says otherwise, namely "Microsoft veteran wants to replace every single line of C/C++ code with Rust and AI".
    • Sued and... exonerated. Oh, they learned a lesson alright. They learned that anyone who uses the word "antiturst" in conjunction with "Microsoft" is an idiot, even if that person is Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. That judge ruined the image of the US justice system. Microsoft Edge has a 5.14% market share. Also, Windows is no longer the #1 OS. None of this constitutes a monopoly. Google Chrome, however, has 70.25% share. Also, Google's Android is the #1 OS. Now that's closer to a monopoly.
