Definitive Crackdown thread

Off topic: DL..I wonder what other games is in your top 5 for 360? I'm curious :)

Good Question... Not really 100% sure.

Probably since it was first released, the games I have enjoyed playing the most personally and/or just feel you could not go wrong with them if I told someone else to pick them up would be (first four in no particular order)...

Crackdown

Gears Of War

Dead Rising

Elder Scrolls Oblivion

Lost Planet / GRAW 1 / Fight Night Round 03 (All TIED for 5th as I cannot make up my mind) ;)

And I actually never got into Oblivion that hardcore at all. I just do think overall it was a brilliant game and could easily recommend it if that was a genre someone was interested in.

Anyone else having fun making car bombs with the mines? I love loading one up and driving it into a group of baddies and exploding it from a safe distance. Or playing jihadi and blowing it up on a street corner?

Mines? whered you get those? :s

I have some 'limp charges' (I think theyre called) - I throw them at people but happens :s

Now I just use them to throw really hard against people, knocking them down :D

The limpet charges are able to be remotely detonated...

When I bought my 360 from my friend I got GoW and Oblivion as well. I didn't really like Morrowind before so I started playing it with an impression that I wouldn't enjoy it, but after about a half hour of playing it I realized it was addicting as hell. :D I'm still playing it and haven't even started on the main questline yet! haha :)

I am actually thinking of starting a brand new game of Oblivion all over again. (Y) Really, really heavily considering it when the expansion comes out.

Back to Crackdown.

I did beat it over the weekend, and now I am focusing on the Rooftop Races. Only have 3 or 4 to go. Finding out they are a little easier than I first though. Already did "Road To Home" or whatever it is called, where you have to climb the agency building at the end, and one of the other Agency ones as well.

Hearing all this stuff about Crackdown really intrigues me. Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to play anything (except the almost daily bouts of Halo 2 with people in my dorm). Maybe I'll get a hold of it once summer comes, but I'm also debating actually getting GTAIV, and I probably won't get both.

Rented the game on Sunday night... played all night... played during the day on Monday.... played for an hour this morning.... and I'm on the very last boss :p

A bit short isnt it? I mean I know I gotta finish getting orbs and races, but its still moderately short!

Can someone tell me whats the story behind the engine? Is it using the same as GTA:SA?

....and who else is tired of hearing that its time to die in many different accents?

I did that, is that one that has 3 checkpoint, last point where small pond is? or other one? Other one I did 3:45 under 4:30 but after viewing the leaderboard and seeing someone completing it in 1 min 3 sec...insane. I mean HOW!?!

Nope it is the one where you start off in Los Muertos and have 11 minutes to make it back to the agency and the top of the building. I did it in about 7. I also did the one you are talking about as well, the 3 points one. I am pretty sure I did it at around the same time you did as well. But WHAT??? 1:03?????? Truly, that just seems impossible to me. LOL

I still have to do the other one at the agency, the one that is completely a different path if that makes any sense.

anyone else working on ringleader?...the rings dissappear, there is one i know i need to goet and it occasionally is there but has since dissapeard and wont re-appear

I noticed that which bugs me too. I was setting up a ramp truck before, get back in the supercar and bam the ring is gone.

Also, how does anyone get the damn car to stay in the air for 7 seconds? I can't keep it up there with the firefly like I did with the body.

I managed to get the achievement for driving through them all today. Each ring has an activation point, which you have to drive through to make the ring appear. The ring then stays there for about a minute or two, and if you don't drive through it in that time, you have to re-activate it to make it appear again.

bangbang: Bring the Supercar to the shipyard in Volk. Toss the Supercar on top of a tall stack of containers. Throw a cluster grenade under the Supercar and lock on to it with a Firefly. Let the grenade blow the Supercar into the air then just keep hitting it with Firefly missiles.

Works like a treat. I even did it with the Hot Head.

It has to be the supercar? I tried regular cars and i couldnt get it, but didn't have the time to try the supercar.

i did it with a regular car....

anyone wanna try to get some of the rings with me? im gonna go shower then ill check back here

man....something weird and udderly cool just happened. I was playing Co-Op with my friend and all of a sudden I could jump from every building and not get hurt. Then I realized NOTHING WAS hurting me. I killed 10 bosses for him with infinite health :D

Dunno what happened, but it was awesome

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
