Your Opinion Of The New LOTR Movie

Recommended Posts

Amazing - thats the word I was looking for :)

I also saw the 12:01 AM EST show.

They really set the bar with the first movie and this one equalled or surpassed it.

Great action sequences - Helms Deep :woot:

Story was really good also, with Gollum as the standout character.

Music and sounds were beautiful. Howard Shore did an amazing job again

Highly recomended to anyone. One of my friends also came with me and he didnt see the first movie and he also said this was an amazing film.

9/10

Holy crap :o :o :o

This is the best film I have ever seen. It surpasses FoTR in every single way possible. Helms Deep, Gollum, everything is so amazing, so epic in scale. I have already booked tickets for Friday and Saturday so there's at least two more showings for me :D

Words simply cannot convey how spectacular this film is, it sent shivers down my spine at times and at others had me quivering in anticipation (if you've seen it, you know what part ;) )

Gollum.... :o :o :o Truly phenomenal, puts anything CG related to shame. Gollum is brimming with character, at times he'll make you laugh, at others, he'll send shivers down your spine.

Helms Deep, well what can I say. I simply have never seen anything like it in my life, never, ever, ever. It was truly breathtaking and had me on the edge of my seat with some awesome choreographing, amazing sequences that you'll never forget and more. Nothing has ever been done on this scale before, at least from what I've seen.

My only worry is how in the world is Jackson going to beat this...

Saw it at 17:00 today - and wow! This movie was AMAZING! It surpasses the fellowship in so many ways ... Gollum is simply incredible, and having read the books I really think it's one of those movies which are as good if not better than the book ... truly class - a must see!

exactly! 100% correct and even more so, everything u said i agree with cept the part about jackson beating it, cause he will, ROTK is his fav so that's a good sign.

P.S. ents were kickass too

I thought it was a great movie as well. MUCH better than the first.

My roommate, however, is a huge LOTR fan, has the books, knows them backwards and fowards, etc. HE said the movie is nothing like the book at all. To use his words, it "shredded" the book. He hated the movie.

But i loved it. :D

I did love the movie, but it does have little to do with the book other than the general story and title. The Battle at Helm's Deep is curious because in the book the battle doesn't take on the Epic proportion that is shown in the movie.

Gollum was amazing though. After seeing Star Wars and remembering the atrocious Jar Jar Binks, i was worried about having another completely CGI character, but Gollum was unbelievable and maybe the best character in the movie. At least, he was certainly what we talked about when the movie was over.

I am a huge fan of the books, but i separated the book and the movie and was able to truely enjoy it. Can't wait for Return of the King. Also shows that the second Star Wars trilogy doesn't hold a Candle to LOTR. It is thrilling film making. Also makes me want to visit New Zealand.

Saw it yesterday @ 20:00 GMT , yes it was pretty damn awesome and definatly better than the first especially the helms deep battle scene and the part where gollem was arguing with himself (the whole cinema laughed out loud!) , However it finished before the book did so RoTK is going to be LONG , but im really looking forward to the Gondor battle part!

The main charictors kicked so much ass that most the of the army was surpless to requirement however , and there was no real explanation as to why gandalf didnt come in and 0wn everyone at the start of the battle , since he is obviously harder than sauruman he could have raised his own army of 1337 death in 2 seconds...

Great movie with excellent action and just enough humor to keep it interesting without spoiling the intensity. As far as those who hated it because it didn't match the book I say lighten up! This is Jackson's adaptation of the story and I think he did a great job of it.

I absolutely loved it! Sure it doesn't follow the book exactly, but who cares? FOTR also didn't follow the book completely. Do understand that in books you have a lot more time (& sets are free as they are created in your mind) than a motion picture

10 out of 10 hands down

I finish with this:

It's all about the trees

there was no real explanation as to why gandalf didnt come in and 0wn everyone at the start of the battle , since he is obviously harder than sauruman he could have raised his own army of 1337 death in 2 seconds...

SPOILERS!!!

SPOILERS!!!

He went out to get the King's nephew (forgot his name at the moment) the one that was banished from the kingdom and slaughtered those orcs who had Pippin & Merry captive. He had 500 men

So obviously that is an asset to a fortress held by 300 men (they tell you that when Aragorn & Legolas are arguing in the armory)

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
