-Confirmed- Blizzard OFFICIALLY announcing a game May 19th!

Recommended Posts

Um, when was that confirmed? All that I've seen stated is that Blizzard would like to work on a StarCraft game. I've never seen it confirmed that SC2 is being worked on.

Um, what the hell? Have you not read the original post in this thread?

"Blizzard Korea's Park Young-Mok director said "There is not content available for answer for the sequel. The sequel will be released at the WWI on the 19th. Please confirm it at the site on the 19th" and denied the confirmation on if StarCraft 2 is indeed the sequel that is to be announced on the 19th."

And Microsoft denied the Elite for months until it was revealed. I guarantee SC2 is being worked on, whether or not it's going to be announced.

Of course it's being worked on in some form or fashion! What game developer with a massive IP isn't going to be working on a franchise that made them rich? That doesn't mean the game ever sees the light of day in many cases, however. Hell, Command & Conquer 3 was being worked on for ages, and it only just now got released -- and that's after they scrapped development 3 separate times. :)

I would love another Diablo. I think it would make more sense. Hasn't Diablo sold more than Starcraft? I hate that damn game!

Honestly, I don't think you can compare RPGs to RTS's. It just doesn't work. Besides, Diablo already came out with #2 + Expansion. It's time for Starcraft to rise to power.

 Exactly!

I believe it was Starcraft Ghost which was canned long ago, SC2 was never annouced.

Personally im happy to see either of these games releasing a sequel, id be slightly dissapointed if it was another Warcraft, I think WC has had a good run of blizzards attention lets get the other 2 franchises back up there.

SC sequel would be good as there is always a lack of quality RTS games out there these days, but on the same token the demon bashing lore filled world of Diablo would be great to be emerged in again. Heck if either of them are MMO it will be good too :)

One of Blizzard's gold-encrusted execs has said that he "hopes" there will be another StarCraft game in the near future.

"As a Starcraft player I can tell you that I hope it wouldn't go a decade - we launched Starcraft in '98 - I hope it wouldn't go a decade before we stand here and celebrate the next Starcraft together," Itzik Ben Bassat told crowds gathered at World of Warcraft expansion The Burning Crusade's official launch event in London last night.

"Don't forget that we have two more franchises that we love - Diablo and Starcraft," Bassat had declared.

"We haven't forgotten that we have these two franchises, and what I can tell you is that I look forward to stand here in a few years, or whenever it's going to be, and celebrate with you the launch of the next Starcraft or the next Diablo."

According to our people on the ground, the Blizzard PRs "looked a bit uncomfortable" around this point. So that's welcome to the Internet the hard way, really.

Whether all that means Bassat knows something that we don't though, or whether he's just teasing or speculating, is impossible to say - but Blizzard is notoriously secret and perfectionist about its work, and it wouldn't be a massive surprise to discover a sequel lurking in development somewhere.

Starcraft is not dead, if ytou go to korea, thay have 3 channels on cable with Starcraft playing 24/7, if you go korea, only game they play is starcraft. There nuts over it. Once again Starcraft is NOT dead.

As a korean exchange student the person who posted saying its a japanese site doesnt know between the fonts.

Also, I hate starcraft. Not every korean plays this game. I tried it for an hour, uninstalled it.

Somehow, I prefer games like Swat 3 , Swat 4.

Yeah, that was posted a long time ago. That's what I was alluding to when I stated Blizzard only said they'd like to return to the franchise.

You're in an extremely small minority as far as I can tell...

no im not, why did blizzard make warcraft 1,2,3, frozen throne world of warcraft , etc.. i dont think im alone in liking warcraft over starcraft if blizzard made so many warcraft games.

Does anyone else \not want them to go 3d with the next StarCraft? I mean to me WC2 and SC are about raising huge armies and large battles. When WC went 3d with WC3 I felt like there were huge unit limitations! I didnt feel like the battles were huge and I hope the same doesnt happen the SC2. Cause i LOVE stimming a @!##! load of marines and sending them charging in with a couple of medics and battlecruisers for support! yeehaa!

It has to be one of the following being from Blizzard (obviously):

Diablo III

Starcraft II

Warcraft IV

World of Diablo/Starcraft

World of Warcraft 2

Or the long shot one: a new IP based game.

Heh. I've also been in contact with Blizzard, and they said they would get back to me later today or Monday and they would give me some information. More than likely it is the same sort of response Kotaku has :D

Yup, has to be one of those above.

    • Fastfetch 2.64 released bringing new logos and other improvements by David Uzondu Fastfetch, the popular command-line system information tool that developers created as a fast alternative to the classic Neofetch utility, has updated its codebase to version 2.64, bringing experimental scripting power, streamlined compilation options, a smarter logo renderer, and Codec module support. As noted earlier, Fastfetch can now detect hardware-accelerated video codecs across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android through this new Codec module. On Linux and BSD, the utility uses VA-API by default, with a fallback to VDPAU on Nvidia hardware if compiled with libva and libvdpau. Windows users get D3D12VA on Windows 11 or D3D11VA with Media Foundation Transforms on older systems, while macOS relies on VideoToolbox and Android utilizes AMediaCodec. You can manually toggle Vulkan Video via the config file, and the program will report both encoders and decoders unless configured otherwise. Logo support for Quasar, Origami, Origami_small, NixOS2, and BerserkArch also landed in this release. BerserkArch, if you have never heard of it, is a specialized Arch Linux derivative that targets security researchers and power users. This distro comes with an offensive security tool manager, simply called berserk, which allows users to install complex hacking toolkits with single terminal commands. Moving on, Fastfetch now has experimental scripting options for custom formats using Lua or QuickJS. The Lua integration supports versions 5.3 through 5.5, sharing a single interpreter instance across all modules so you can store variables globally. T Alternatively, if you prefer JavaScript, you can use QuickJS-ng version 0.15.0 or newer to evaluate your custom formats with the qjs: prefix. Other changes that version 2.64 brings include native CMake compilation flags to disable specific modules to shrink the final binary size. Users can delete unwanted ASCII logo files directly from the source directory before building to save additional space. The format engine now boasts ANSI-escape awareness, meaning you can center text with the new vertical bar specifier without breaking colored outputs. Haiku users receive preliminary support for boot manager, window manager theme, screen brightness, and other basic properties. Finally, the Linux edition now extracts desktop wallpaper and theme details from the modern COSMIC desktop environment.
    • That's a good number until the game you want to play is not in that list.
    • So, the logo means No ducking AI?
    • For sure, humanity us highly unlikely to survive the helium flash. Even if we have colonized moons in the outer planets by then, that is such a monumental change in heat output, coupled with the destruction of Earth, it's unlikely we could be fully prepared for changes of that scale.
