[Cancelled] Sarah Connor Chronicles (Terminator Series)

Recommended Posts

Quoted from digitalspy:-

Here's a couple of TSCC mentions from the FOX programming conference:

16:19 - Terminator vs. Dollhouse, “Terminator’s run is completed” “That’s it for Terminator“, “was not an either or with Dollhouse”

17:14 - Did show budget influence the cancellation of Terminator? “Cost was *a* factor”, “Ratings trendline wasn’t pointing in the right direction”, “We tried, but it’s time to move on”.

Even tho' it's been 99.99% definite for a while, was still quite sad to see it confirmed.

too bad to see one of my favourite shows ever gone, but at least it got the time to deliver a mindblowing finale, besides Fox decision to screw it up every way possible, moving it to fridays, etc

to quote Joss Whedon's Mal character "we've accomplished the impossible, and that makes us mighty"

meh as I say the show was complete garbage during the middle of season 2. Jessie and Riley ugh and then the crap with emo Sarah. It's not hard to see why the show lost viewers as quickly as it did, It did start to pickup towards the end (i.e the submarine episode onward) but it was to late.

Giving the show a full 22 episode season was the worst choice they made. Over here we have seasons that last 8 to 10 weeks which means every week has to be used to advance the plot rather than filling it with crappy filler episodes.

Great quote (Y)

Exact wording from the fox president:

[sarah Connor] has completed its run. I think it had a nice little run. It was a good show. It was not an either or [with Dollhouse]. We did see it tailing off a bit [in the ratings]. It had a nice creative core, but, ultimately, we made the bet on Dollhouse, so that's it for [sarah Connor]... We make no apologies. We gave it a lot of support and some consistent scheduling. We tried and thought it was time to move on.

i find it funny how it was an either or between dollhouse and scc yet dollhouse had to get an even smaller budget. good thing im not interested in any of there new shows

Yet Dollhouse has been told to half their budget.

To be honest the only show I liked on that network besides TSCC was Fringe, and I'll find other ways to watch it then to watch Fox TV. None of there new shows look any good- Syfy and ABC seems to be where the new scifi shows are.

Ah poop. I kind of expected this as much as I didn't want to. Still have hope it will resurrect someway, somehow. I am glad they picked Dollhouse at least. While I liked Terminator better Dollhouse was a great show and I'm glad it'll be coming back. 2 Seasons is better than none. At least they didn't pick up Shovin' Buddies or Cross-armed Opposites ;) You'd have to see Family Guy this weekend to get that lol.

In the words of Ray from Trailer Park Boys, "****in' Way She Goes"

the quick fact in the decision seems that fox makes and produces dollhouse, where tscc was produced by wb, so the dvd earnings would be less for fox, in simple things, it all comes down to money :ninja:

I guess people that watch mediocre television now outweigh those that want genuinely good stories.

this show being canceled at this point in the the story sucks beyond belief, the least they could have done is given them one last full season to complete the story, this makes me not want to go see the movie or its 2 planned sequals.

and to think i was going to buy a $500 lifesize bust of a t-800 today, guess im not gonna do that either, EFF YOU FOX

It's official, they've cancelled the show :-(

Apparently, it's too costly to produce.

How on earth did "Chuck" get a renewal for season 3 and not SCC?

TERMINATED!

Because Chuck rocks and SCC, well.... I've already shared my opinions on it.

I'm hoping that a couple years down the road that we might see a novel written to finish and close the story. That's about all I expect that can happen to this series at this point.

It will go down as one of the best canceled Scifi Series of all time up there with firefly and battlestar 1980.

hmm not sure about that... it might have been good but it wasn't that exceptional

    • First time clicking on a Sayan Sen article after he started making clickbait, vague headlines recently. Didn't read, just came here to say the headline doesn't look like very cheap, vague clickbait this time. Are you okay?
    • Good review, and yeah the benchmark breakdown is pretty clear but also a little messy in a good way. It’s kinda interesting to see where the RX 9070 GRE slides in between the 7800 XT and the 9070 XT , especially when it comes to AI tasks and Blender style workloads. The side by side with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and 4070 makes it feel obvious just how competitive the mid range GPU scene has gotten lately, and that’s great for creators and gamers too since you can pick based on your priorities rather than only chasing one single thing.
    • That's it. I finally uninstalled Firefox because they often keep pushing buggy updates, only to test them later and make users suffer. No longer is it my alternative browser to Edge. What a waste of energy. Firefox is bad for the environment, just like Chrome (wasting RAM/energy).

Users report that this month's security updates for Windows 11 cause all sorts of issues, including BitLocker bugs, OneDrive issues, black screens of death, and third-party integration in Office apps. Microsoft has not confirmed those yet, but it acknowledged other issues with its operating system. What Microsoft has confirmed is a bug where Recycle Bin delete prompts display internal file names instead of actual ones, and a year-old Windows JScript compatibility bug caused by security-focused engine changes. Overall, the device proved interesting, but not flawless. On the gaming side Learn about upcoming game releases, Xbox rumors, new hardware, software updates, freebies, deals, discounts, and more. Forza Horizon 6 received two big updates this week. Alongside the Series 2 content update, developers pushed plenty of bug fixes and balancing tweaks.
