Crazysah Share Posted July 9, 2007 (edited) The UEFA Champions League 2007-08 is the 53rd edition of the European championship football tournament and the 16th edition under the current UEFA Champions League format. The final is scheduled to be played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on May 21, 2008. However, due to an upcoming review of venues eligible to host the Champions League Final (announced by UEFA President Michel Platini on June 6, 2007) this decision could be reversed, and a stadium with enhanced turnstile and ticketing technology chosen instead. 76 teams will participate in the 2007-2008 Champions League from 53 UEFA associations. FaRSightxc2 Share Posted July 9, 2007 Man UTD? Certainly more chance than Arsenal this year! Top scorer is always tough...Henry if he fits well into Barca, The Drog, Torres, Crespo or Rooney if not! Yes I am being Bias to English clubs...but why not?!
Damo R. Veteran Share Posted July 9, 2007 Why isn't Man Utd in the list?...I am not saying they should be but they did win the EPL after all, I think they will be a threat this year but as I said in the other thread Real Madrid will go far this year :)
Crazysah Author Share Posted August 3, 2007 Liverpool face tricky trip to ToulouseLiverpool must overcome a tricky trip to Toulouse if they are to reach the Champions League group stage. The Reds, who have won the competition five times and were beaten in last season's final, must face the Ligue 1 side over two legs for a place in the lucrative section of the competition. Arsenal's first European tie since the departure of talismanic striker Thierry Henry will be a tough one too, against Czech side Sparta Prague. Scottish champions Celtic face a tough test against Spartak Moscow in their bid to reach the group stage. Last season's SPL runners-up Rangers will face either 1991 European Cup winners Red Star Belgrade or Estonian side Levadia Tallinn if they overcome FK Zeta in the second qualifying round. They lead 2-0 from the home leg. The first legs will be played on August 14 and 15, with the return matches taking place on August 28 and 29. Toulouse reached the Champions League qualifiers by finishing third in Ligue 1 behind champions Lyon and runners-up Marseille. They are coached by former Bordeaux boss Elie Baup and one of their star players is Sweden striker Johan Elmander, who was a reported target of Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson and also Lyon. He scored 11 times for the club, including a last-day hat-trick against Bordeaux. Arsenal's opponents Sparta are the champions of the Czech Republic. Their success last season was their 34th domestic title and they became the first club since the break-up of Czechoslovakia in the early 1990s to win the domestic double. Their best performance in Europe came in 1992-93, when they reached the semi-final group stage under an old format of the Champions League. BTW - If you want me to change any of the poll option then I can do it.

Martyn Share Posted August 28, 2007 Toulouse gave Liverpool a hard time? Did you watch the same match as I did ? Liverpool where confortable throughout and I think we would of won by more goals if the temperature had not been around 40 degrees celcius. Anyway, it is good Liverpool are playing at home on the city's 800th birthday :D!
Crazysah Author Share Posted August 28, 2007 They only won 1-0! How much do you think will be the second leg scoreline?
Martyn Share Posted August 28, 2007 They only won 1-0! How much do you think will be the second leg scoreline? Yeah, but we out classed them, both teams drained quite quickly due to the heat though. I think Liverpool will win 2-0/3-0 tonight. I am feeling confident for once!
