Porto cheated Man Utd that season! When the linesman said Scholes was offside when he scored and he wasn't. Thus knocking them out of the Cup.

I knew it!!! Haha.

Too bad the allegations are from domestic matches and not European matches

by the way last years CL draw (quarter finals) was arranged.

no question about it.

i can explain it and show a video if you like as well.

They put little "chips" to those balls. Lets say that person who picks the ball from the basket is mixing his hand in the basket and wants to pick up liverpool. What happens is the chip in liverpool's ball gets shaken and the person easily picks it up.

Fenerbahce and Schalke were the easiest of the 8 teams in the quarter finals. They wanted both of them to be eliminated and was matched with Chelsea and Barcelona respectively. Because a high profile FINAL game brings a lot of revenue to Fifa.

ıf the final was between lets say Fenerbahce and Man Utd uefa would get lets assume 5 million dollars from advertisements. but a chelsea man utd final gives them 3-4 more times of profit.

Final game sponsorships are never decided before the final game.. where as up to semi finals the sponsors are declared for in the beginning of the season.

Fenerbahce were awesome last season and they were my pick to make it at least to the semis of the CL but Chelsea had to find a way to win.

I still remember Deivid's goal against Inter in the group stage. That was one of the best strikes I saw last season.

Fenerbache won 5-0 anyway.

Turkey is not ranked very high in UEFA's rank of clubs so their teams have to play qualification rounds. For example, Portugal is ranked 6th, I believe (or 7th), which means the top 2 teams go directly and a third plays the 3rd stage of qualification, which starts next week.

Of course, Portuguese teams haven't done anything in the last 2 years so starting next year, only the champion goes and second place goes to qualification.

They basically rank country's based on what their teams do in European competitions but it takes a year or two for the performances to take effect so Turkey may have a team go directly next year based on what Fenerbache did last season in the CL.

:) Yep, and also EURO 08 will probably help too. If Galatasaray wins over Stetua, Fenerbahce will probably go in the third group when group stages will be decided. I expect a lot from Fener this season but new transfers need a little bit more time to settle.

Think its worth a mention Rangers going on the other day to Kaunas was probably the funniest thing ever and saddest because Rangers are a good squad.

Yeah. I feel really bad for Rangers as they did pretty well in the CL last year or was it the year before?

You mean they did good in the UEFA Cup, not CL :p

Yep, and also EURO 08 will probably help too.

No, the Euro has nothing to do with the rankings for UEFA club competitions. Country rankings only change depending on what clubs from within that country do in European competitions. The Euro just changes FIFA rankings and group leaders when it comes to World Cup/Euro qualifying.

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
    • Rescind the stupid "Show more options" in context menus and just give us the full menu instead of adding more steps to get to what we want. The "simpler by default" makes me think they'll go in the opposite direction. Every context menu should have a configure button so you can pick and choose what options should be shown, I know you can do that with some registry fu but that shouldn't be required.
    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
