Gearbox Reveals New FPS Called "Borderlands"

Just beat the game and:

Worst.Ending.Ever

In fact worst story ever. I have never seen recycled dialogue abused so much in a game. That chick that pops up on your screen and tells you what to do is SO GODDAMN ANNOYING.

Literally all she says is:

This is your greatest challenge yet, you musty be prepared

You Must hurry, the vault only opens every 200 years

how powerful is your shield? i found one that protects for over 800 points when combined with the correct mod, it was just in a skag pile on a mission to collect the tannis tapes, even online with high level players i havnt found another shield with better protection.

good machine guns with more than x1 elemantal seem nonexistant, all the x2 ones i found so far have crappy damage or clip size :(

I found a nice elemental machine gun in old haven I used it all the way through the end of the game:

OMFG, I am so annoyed at this game's multiplayer. 99% of the servers in the online public tab don't work, since people are too stupid to understand they have to forward ports. Even when you do, it doesn't show you anyone's ping, the whole online system is just a disaster. I tried using hamachi to play with some friends, but since the built in online feature is complete ****, the game doesn't work with hamachi.

Been rocking on orange sinper doing 300 damage and with x4 fire elemental and the red text that has explosions (so if I shoot one guy in a crowd the fire damage spreads). Then have an SMG doing like 108 damage on a 69 clip. A combat rifle doing 110x2 with a 32 clip size and finally a light orange pistol doing 400 damage with some red text that regenerates ammo.

Got a two more orange sniper riflles and pistols in inventory that have different effects for different enemies.

When I was a level 21 my buddy and I found a level 25 machine gun that I used for the rest of the game. 151 damage, 90 accuracy, 15 fire rate with these special stats: 120% recoil reduction, 100% critical damage, and 50% damage.

I used this for a while even on my second play through because it was just that amazing. I finally found a new one with 182 damage but no where near the extra perks that came with the last one.

Damn I beat the game once and so far the HIGHEST damage mg I found was 130. But I am a hunter anyway :p. My 300 damage 4x corrosive sniper and 395 x4 corrosive masher do me well :)

I havent been able to play hardly any coop though (pc version lulz)

I played for about a half an hour today and had one epic battle. I was level 45 vs. the level 45 giant moth thing. Unfortunately because I'm on the second play through, he is 2x's tougher. Every little fireball he shot at me would hit me. I finally figured out to move a little to the east under that giant rock arch which would protect me from some of his attacks. So for about 15 minutes, I dueled the moth under the arch. I spent all my assault rifle ammo, shotgun ammo, and sniper ammo on him. All of that to only get about 25,000 exp which is only about 2 bars at level 45.

I used the rocket on my car and I was far enough away so he wouldn't attack when I hit him and just kept flying around lol.

I had a lot of trouble with the Moth - it was too fast for precision shots, and those fireballs it shoots fills your whole screen and you can't aim properly.

So I just used the machine gun car, locked on, and drove up the large rock it flies around. I did that while my other friend did the same but just drove around all over the place shooting it!

Thats my least favourite boss so far.

Kinda disappointed how easy it is for one to hack their save game. Why don't these games add another layer of protection to savegame with encryption?

These 'hackers' are dropping the hacked weapons for people to pick up, making banning difficult. Shotgun with the range of a sniper? Level 100? Get real...

You need to have a certain quest in your log..and you cant have any part of it done.. then you go to the small house behind scooters place.

so will you tell us what quest? and whatsi n the house?

its the last quest you need. It's called Another Peice of the Puzzle and says somethign about Guardian angels in it. It's near the end, once you get that quest, run back to new haven. The hidden room is this blue little outhouse just behind the building with stares in the middle of NH. The doorw ill open up and a elevator will take you down to a room with enemies. Once u kill them, you can open chest that has a unique gun in it all the time and a lot of good shields in the lockers.

Just got the game yesterday. At first I was like "meh", but it gets addictive after a while.

My only gripe so far is that vehicle controls are awkward. I hate it when vehicles move in the same direction the turret (or whatever) is looking at, I can't help looking around while intending to drive straight so I'm running into stuff all the time :p

  • 2 weeks later...

Found the best incendiary SMG! I think I picked it up in zombie island from a random weapon drop.

45 damage

75 Accuracy

15 fire rate

very high elemental x 3 fire damage

+56% reload speed

3.7% zoom

The gun is effing ridiculous lol :D i love it!

Add to that the stupid vegetation and objects scattered around and jutting out the ground and stopping your car from 100MPH to 0 in an instant.

The vehicle and the staticness in this game sucks. Let's hope they make it up to 'next-gen' standard (I guess I can call it this gen now) in the next game.

Yep. The "good" thing is vehicles are not that important in the game, BUT it would be several orders of magnitude better if they were more "usable" (and therefore more fun).

I can't help wondering if Rage won't be what this game could have been (gameplay wise).

    • I think I understood the article fine. Online password managers open users up to more possibilities of getting hacked, and due to KeePass being offline and local it reduces the idea of getting hacked. If someone chooses to put their database online they're kinda missing the point. With regards to the idea of the on-prem idea, I would have two issues. I'm not sure about the first issue, but I wouldn't be surprised about them offering a cloud storage for the passwords that most wouldn't bother to switch off, regardless of if they went for on-prem or not. The second issue is that the on-prem solution for Bitwarden costs money, whereas KeePass is free and open-source (as far as I am aware). The article points out how to sync the database between devices, and I recognise that deficiency in security. But it isn't a necessity. So both services can offer a same idea, but one is free and the other isn't...choices, choices.... But to each their own.

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
