Blue-Eyed People 'Smarter' than Brown-Eyed ?

Recommended Posts

I highly doubt someone's eye colour affects their intellect.

Could be the other way around, still I dont see any strong argument to make this assumption. Lets just call this bogus.

This indicates that the mutation originated in just one person who became the ancestor of all subsequent people in the world with blue eyes, according to a study by Professor Hans Eiberg and colleagues at the University of Copenhagen.

The scientists are not sure when the mutation occurred but other evidence suggested it probably arose about 10,000 years ago when there was a rapid expansion of the human population in Europe as a result of the spread of agriculture from the Middle East.

This makes sense, since every Ukrainian I've ever know is blue eyed.

The post title is misquoted.

The report says quite clearly "PEOPLE with blue eyes are likely to achieve more in life than those with brown, say US scientists."

No where does it say the word "Smarter". Therefore comparing IQs is completely pointless.

Yes, people with high IQ may be capable of achieving "more" in life (whatever that means), but no where in the article does it mention intelligence. Are they talking money?

It does mention "better strategic thinkers". However, this is still an ambiguous term to use. And is no measure of "achievement".

HUM : You've misquoted and twisted this entire thread. :(

And blondes usually have blue eyes, and they are stupid as hell. Two counter examples to said study.

Err heres a counter counter to your nonsense i have blue eyes and was blonde when i was younger.....im a senior network engineer for a top medical research company worldwide........I sure sound stupid huh....what tosh!

its p1sh like youve spouted which is a generalisation and to be frank small minded and a tad ignorant (not to mention discrimatory against the way someone is or looks, next youll be saying african descent = you will sink and you cant swim)

as far as the "research" goes what a complete load of nonsense, explain why Asia has more top coders and IT peeps than anywhere else globally....(they all are dark hair/brown eyes)

I can think of another in European History who believed crap like this, that blue eyed people were superior and more intelligent........(ill give you a clue he invaded Poland then shot himself in 1945, not REALLY that wise was he heh)

Apparantly, blondes can't take a joke either.

im a scotsman we invented jokes.....I can take a joke like the best of them... WHEN ITS FUNNY or when its actually got a smiley on it to INDICATE it was a joke.........

Apparantly Ex-pats like to troll and be obtuse..... (its ok if ive offended you it was a joke) :woot:

While I agree that joking doesn't come across well on the internet, that one shouldn't have needed a smiley - nobody actually thinks that all blondes are stupid.

You're just another oversensitive blonde.

In your mind you think you're smart, in the real world perspective though, that changes.

buddy youd be surprised just how many people actually do, when people ask me what I do for a living they are surprised that im into network security cos of my (whats left of it.......)hair colour.....ever heard the phrase...."doh sorry I just had a blonde moment??"

a /joke at the end would have sufficed ;)

LOLOLOL

if you say so matey ;) i dont think im smart, my qualifications and intellect & professional reputation say that for me (not to mention the fat salary im paid by one of the top medical research companies) but hey ho you can think what you like cos guess what....I dont give a handful of monkeys scrota what you think ;)

btw dood your mommies calling you for your evening meal ;)

;) Blue-eyed over brown ? This is just a general observation -- not an absolute.

There are some genius-level Blacks, some nearly retarded Asians, some dumb Whites, and others are above average. No matter what your eye color; green, hazel, or otherwise.

IQ really isn't in the 'genes' -- it is a Spiritual choice -- Intelligence levels are chosen before birth.

It can also be thwarted or enhanced by the individual's Beliefs, throughout their lifetime.

You should be shot for speaking such bollox.

    • The Trump administration doesn't want you to use OpenAI's GPT-5.6 without its approval by David Uzondu Image via @realDonalTrump (X) As OpenAI prepares the release of its next model, GPT 5.6, the White House has instructed the company to limit the distribution of the software to a small group of government-approved partners instead of the general public, as it has done with previous releases. According to The Information, OpenAI Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman sent an internal memo to staff on Thursday explaining that the federal government will approve access "customer by customer" during an initial preview phase. Altman noted in the communication that this restrictive rollout is "not [their] long-term model" for software deployment, and the company plans to work toward a "more sustainable" distribution method later. CNN said that both OpenAI and the Trump administration view the capabilities of GPT 5.6 on the same level as Anthropic's Mythos and that government officials intend to "collaborate with frontier AI labs to develop shared approaches for addressing the challenges of scaling this technology." The latest restriction comes just weeks after the US Commerce Department decided to restrict Fable, a version of Mythos with extra safety "guardrails" to prevent users from exploiting software vulnerabilities. Not long after the release, though, researchers at Amazon found a way to bypass these restrictions, prompting an aggressive response from federal authorities. The government ordered Anthropic to cut off access for non-US citizens located outside the US, non-US citizens living inside the US, and incredibly, even Anthropic's own foreign-born employees. Anthropic now appears to be building a workaround to resolve this compliance block with an update to its Privacy Policy that introduces a category called "Verification Data" to handle KYC and Digital IDs. This setup could mandate digital identity checks to filter users by nationality, requiring a government-issued ID and facial biometric data. Who knows? Maybe in the future, you would have to scan your US Passport or State ID to prove your citizenship before you are allowed to chat with Fable 5 (or any other model).
    • When Windows 7 was released I created an AutoHotkey script that uses Alt+` as a keyboard shortcut to move a window across monitors. I have been using that script for over 15 years and this is the first time I have come across another app that uses the same shortcut!
    • I called it last year that they wouldn't end support when they said there would. There are too many people still on Windows 10 waiting for something better to upgrade to and 11 ain't it! The recent promises of fixing Windows 11's many problems is nice, but unless they deliver on those promises in a big way then I expect customers will still want to stick with 10.
    • Full ACK. I went too far adressing your post specifically. And as you said, it up to us customers as participant of the market dynamic as it happens to decide whether we spend our money on a product or not. The responsibility is to the company. In case of this price hike one could assume that MS is expecting or even starting to see a new interest in XBox hardware so they want to avoid losses per unit sold. I find it fair enough that they granted a period in which everyone interested could grab a unit for the current price (Amazon.de has a reliable stock of XBox Series X digital, which I bought last December after having sold my day one Series X a year ago). It is not that they cash up their customers starting on Monday. Cheers and let's cling to our perfectly fine hardware as long as we deem it worthy in relation to purchasing something new!
