Ashampoo for me! Does everthing I need.

Only pet peeve is when you come across Alcohol Images. I hate installing programs to burn one thing :p

Nero is far too much bloat for me now :yes:

I understand you can customize the install... but why go through all that when there is simpler ways.

Hahaha! That's hilarious. :laugh: It should be no more than ~20 MB tops (or about 0.5% of that post-install size). Wow!

Since I still use my burning app to just burn stuff (wow, what a concept!), I currently use ImgBurn as I noticed it actually do support not just burning images, but creating compilations from scratch too. 1.5 MB installer and free. That's about right for me.

Yes, Nero has a very large download size, and yes, it's generally a large app, but these sorts of comparisons are pretty inaccurate. I mean, who actually installs the whole thing? Different people install different portions of the suite to suit their needs. I just wish that Nero came in separate downloads depending on which features the user wants (each component downloaded separately?).

Some people are complaining that the download size is close to a gig. Yeah, this is annoying. But, the truth is, my installed size (and probably the installed size of the average Neowin member) is about 100MB. Yes, this 100MB on my system is considerably larger than the above touted size of Ashampoo, but it should be noted that my installed version of Nero offers considerably more functionality with an interface that I highly prefer.

I hate bloatware, I really do. Most of my programs are pretty lean, and I clean out anything that I don't actually have a use for. And seriously, Nero is NOT bloatware. The download size is incredibly large (and I'm surprised the Nero team hasn't done anything about it), but the actual installed program is only bloated if you don't have the ability to properly install software.

yikes, i needed some good laughs but i guess i got it now! I now know what people feel like when they say they are sticking to Nero 5/6 because 7 s bloated. I am using 7 (Nero 7 Micro) and it's nice and whippy, but gosh.... definitely crazy now.
