Hasn't it been said that we have not seen Jacob outside of the brief glimpse from last season?

Yeah other then what we saw last season when Locke saw that glimpse and from that alone it didn't look like Jack but who knows.

Hasn't it been said that we have not seen Jacob outside of the brief glimpse from last season?

Hmmm that is true.

Carlton Cuse Stops Production Work on Lost

To my fellow WGA Members,

I want to clear up any misunderstanding about where I stand.

On November 16 I, regretably, was quoted by a Wall Street Journal reporter saying I was going to perform some of my non-writing, post-production duties on episodes of LOST to protect the show for the fans. However, I'm sure to the delight of the AMPTP, my statement became the story and gave the false impression that there was disunity among showrunners over the issues of this negotiation.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Every showrunner I know, whether producing or not producing, stands in full support of the goals of our guild.

For the past two months I have been working seven days a week on these negotiations alongside my fellow negotiating committee members.

As a committee we did everything we could to get both parties back to the bargaining table this last week. We were fully prepared to enter into the kinds of back-and-forth discussions that are necessary to reach any sort of labor deal. I sincerely hoped this return to the table would lead to real progress.

I was wrong.

In fact, given the events of last Thursday -- and where things currently stand -- I can no longer in good conscience continue to work on my show in any capacity.

What I will be doing is continuing my work as a member of the committee for as long as it takes, contributing in any way I can, to get us the fair and just deal that we must have.

It's going to be an arduous fight.

But make no mistake -- we are united, we are resolute...

And we are indeed ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.

Yours,

Carlton Cuse

Obviously ABC can find someone else to work in Cuse's capacity, but what exactly does this mean for those eight Lost episodes we're suppose to get in the Spring? Will ABC finally do the smart thing and push the season back so we get all 16 episodes at the same time. Will ABC forgo the original plan to have three more seasons of 16 episodes? What's next?

Well no hard evidence (obviously) but the way its worded.

Yeah thats what I thought when I watched, its those sort of eggs that makes you think or your supposed to think hence when the theories are created.

All it was was a bunch of quotes from Lost. So?

Lets put on hold that the producers said Jacob isn't anyone we've seen yet.

Just take 'in universe' information.

Heres the easiest one. Jack leaves the island, and then complains that he needs to go back.

If he was Jacob:

1. He would know how to go back.

2. He wouldn't leave.

3. He wouldn't allow anyone else to leave.

4. He wouldn't have called the freighter.

And thats just one episode.

If you told me that Locke was Jacob, I could believe that one much easier.

What you talking about? He is Jack at that point, not Jacob if you understand me. Like this paradox thing and time travel, he "may" be Jacob because of events that has happened.

Michael on a Frieghter???

On the less speculative side of things is the appearance of photographs from afar of Michael (Harold Perrineau) being filmed on a freighter. Yes, freighters figure quite prominently into Lost at this point. Michael is without Walt and seems to be throwing something in the water. Is this the same freighter that Naomi?s people are on? Could this be a flashback to Michael?s escape from the grip of the island? All I know for sure is that I discussed the spoiler with a prominent figure in the world of spoilers and he felt the info was too hot to handle. I, obviously, do not.

Now this is interesting, getting the idea that episode 8 will be a flashback of Micheal of what happened to him and Wlt at the end of season 2

And where was time travel mentioned in that video?

Nowhere?

Oh.

You can have a theory, thats cool, but you posted a video as 'evidence' thats completely unrelated to your theory.

However, there is a very simple and undeniable fact that debunks your theory:

Jack was originally supposed to be killed in the first few episodes. As such, he is not central to any great mystery of the island or anything on the show. JJ Abrams has said he had basically everything worked out from the beginning, so Jack cannot be central to any of that.

The first few episodes of season one? If so, then that would've severely complicated a large arc with Ben having cancer in his back and the fact that a spinal surgeon, of all people, crashed onto the island. I haven't read the exact quote in a while, but wasn't the main story already done with the finer details not being set? I'm probably mistaken, but I can't see how Jack isn't central to the story, especially given his involvement in the show thus far.

However, I don't believe Jack to be Jacob either.

Actually, upon checking, it was actually the pilot episode in which he was supposed to die.

That arc didn't effect much at all, and could have been skipped without changing anything if Jack wasn't around. Sure, things could have changed with Jack being around, but a major part of the show like Jack actually being the leader of the Others would have been one of the things Abrams decided from the beginning.

The character of Jack as the de facto leader of the survivors was intended to be killed off in "Pilot, Part 1" by the Monster, with Kate taking over as leader. However, ABC executives and advisers to the producers convinced the writers and producers to keep him alive. They reasoned that killing him off, while a novel idea, generated feelings of betrayal, bewilderment, and anger in the audience. Instead, the pilot was written in and killed in Jack's place. Fox's portrayal of Jack as such a likable and noble character that audiences can relate to only helped solidify his survival and importance to the show.

* Michael Keaton was originally cast to play Jack. He left the production after it was decided that he wouldn't die in the pilot.

    • Sorry to be that guy but, Given Trump won again even after a failed first term it would appear attacking the other side is how to gain Government in America. Voters when it came down to it didn't give a s**t about those Democratic achievements and voted for Trump over an intelligent, qualified mixed race woman. We need to face up to this uncomfortable reality. There are more Americacan voters who support racism and christian bigotry along with defending and supporting pedophilia, adjudicated rapists, multiple time convicted felons etc than those who don't. Btw, that is how the world sees America now. Not that Trump voters care as they attempt to cocoon themselves in a white supremacy bubble.
    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.
