I've created this sticky thread for members to post their hosts that they use for their website. Clearly, we arent really looking here for the free hosts- geocities, lycos etc - rather the ones you pay for. We want to know about your good and bad expierences, how reliable they have been, how flexable on bandwidth, and overall feature wise. Do it in this format :

So - i'll start of for my website Zeebit :)

Notable Features : PHP /Mysql, lots of free cgi scripts, PuTTY access, Password protect directories, FTP access

Pros: Excellent tech support- like 5 min replies - and useful ones at that, gives basic stats, Always fast and i've never had the website down - good VFM in general.

Problems: Only 1 FTP account on my setup, No PHPMyAdmin for DB stuff, Have a few probs everynow and again accessing the control panel - which is fairly limited if i'm honest- i'd prefer Cpanel - but for the price- its ok.

Overall: Mainly good- but a few downsides.

I've been rather upset with dreamhost recently, my site has been up and down like a yo-yo, but i'm sure none of it was their fault, I was on the verge of cancelling and today I got an email saying I'd get a refund for this month AND for the rest of my stay with them my hosting will be half price :o

cool company++ just a shame they have had so many problems :(

Pros: Great deals (500MB space/15GB bandwidth for $5 a month, 1GB space/40GB bandwidth for $10 a month, 2GB space/100GB bandwidth for $20 a month), make your own custom plan, contact with real people on staff (no stupid bots or automatic messages), good support ticket system, FREE setup, owned by me! :D

Cons: It's a new company (which can be both good and bad), can not register domains through their site (although the staff is happy to do it for you through a quality registrar), no reseller or dedicated plans (yet)

I owned a very popular FTP searching site, but hosts don't accept me afer I lost my other one, because they say it is illegal because some ftp sites in my DB may contain illegal material, and people sometimes use it for that purpose, and another reason because there is lots of searches a day and I can't just sign up for any host, I need a hsot site with a good webmaster who will understand this...So I'm just looking for a host provider than will talk to me on MSN messenger, so we can work something out about this kinda site...ect... So please someone PM me about this or something, thanks..

FYI : this is a review thread by members about hosts- not an Ad thread. I dont mind people posting their own hosts, but please make it clear so people can form an unbiased opinion.

I apologize if my post was considered "Ad-ish" but I was only listing features that I feel were notable. Listing prices is also important because some people have a budget. I kept the format as you had requested when you started this thread. Sometimes its hard not to "sell" what you really believe in. There were never any instructions about being concise. Your "FYI" has been noted nonetheless.

Pros: Neat scripts free to install via CPanel, EXCELLENT service, very fast and very affordable...

Problems: Limited payment methods, only accepts 2checkout, paypal, and snail mail money orders etc. Overall: Been very happy with them, they are very flexable with aranging their plans to what i need, support is usually very quick to respond as well.

Some of you designers might find this package VERY useful...

First of all - a $65/signup referral program - sign up those businesses that you're doing websites for under your referrall account and give yourself a little tip.

I've been with them for about 3 months now..and just recently signed up another account for a hospital site I'm working on. 10 minutes after completing the sign up form, I get a call on my cell phone asking if I have any start-up questions...beat that service. He told me they were going to increase the space to 2GB and bandwidth to 65GB here in the next month or so...

The other feature that works great for designers is you get 20 Parked Domains, and 5 Add-On domains. Which means you get 5 clients for 1 account - and charge all 5 for hosting.

It truly is a deal I haven't found anyone to beat yet.

2GB, 65GB Transfer @ $6.95/month - includes a FREE domain name, and you can point 5 different domains to the one account and run 5 completely different websites.

Their service is incredible...in today's market with every 14 year old running a hosting business, service is definitely something you want to know you're going to be getting...you can be rest assured with BlueHost.

The only downside for some people may be the 10 MySQL Databases - I personally have never ran out, if you do you could always consolidate into 1 with many tables (theres never a max for tables).
