I've created this sticky thread for members to post their hosts that they use for their website. Clearly, we arent really looking here for the free hosts- geocities, lycos etc - rather the ones you pay for. We want to know about your good and bad expierences, how reliable they have been, how flexable on bandwidth, and overall feature wise. Do it in this format :

So - i'll start of for my website Zeebit :)

host name : OLM

Notable Features : PHP /Mysql, lots of free cgi scripts, PuTTY access, Password protect directories, FTP access

Pros: Excellent tech support- like 5 min replies - and useful ones at that, gives basic stats, Always fast and i've never had the website down - good VFM in general.

Problems: Only 1 FTP account on my setup, No PHPMyAdmin for DB stuff, Have a few probs everynow and again accessing the control panel - which is fairly limited if i'm honest- i'd prefer Cpanel - but for the price- its ok.

Overall: Mainly good- but a few downsides.

Notable Features: FTP, No bandwith limit, Massive space, Anything you want can be orginised for free.

Pros: Good, Prompt Service.

Problems: Expensive.

Overall: 8 out of 10.

Pros: Reliable, no downtime, very cheap, great support.

Problems: No problems at all so far.

Notable Features: Cheap Linux hosting; Instant account activation; Pay by credit/debit card or paypal.

Pros: Realiable - been around for over a year. Cheap - plans start from $3.99 a month. Very good uptime.

Problems: Nothing notable that hasn't already been fixed.

Problems: Very quickly filling up space, making just enough with adsense to pay for it as is

I have a dedicated server - domain from 1&1

Err the only bad thing about my site (apart from the design :p ) is that its on a 512k home line :(

Pros:

I have yet to have any problems with my hosting account with AbsHost. The hosting is very cheap for the high levels of service that you are afforded. The servers aren't overcrowded (a problem I found with a few other hosts) and the servers are blazingly fast (2.8GHz Dual Xeons). I have only once required support and when I did I instantly recived it over live chat. The host also has a busy forum which is helpful for keeping up to date with webhost news. Oh and lastly the servers are reliable and in my 3 months of hosting I have yet to notice my site go down...

Problems:

So far I have yet to have any problems!

Pros: cPanel setup, offer cheap reseller accounts allowing greater flexibility for people hosting a variety of sites

Problems: not very many; always a swift response if there is one.

Overall: Good host - 4/5.

Problems: Not any probs

I've been with these guys for not too long, they seem pretty good though..

Notable Features : 2000 MB space, 200 GB B/W, for $7 month

Pros: Lots of space, lots of bandwidth, cheap, host 10 sites..

Problems: Had some problems with the DNS servers, and subdomains

Overall: I like them, ill be with them for ages!
