1.21.0-SB17:

Fixed double-loading of plugins

Renamed PMSEncoder file for easier updating.

Note: You should manually delete the PMSEncoder file/s in your installation directory (pmsencoder-1.4.0.jar and/or pmsencoder-1.3.0.jar)

Added a lot of new things to WEB.conf by merging Dan_Aykroyd's file from here

Note: WEB.conf will not be overwritten, so if you want the new one you need to either rename or delete the old one.

1.21.0-SB18:

* Synchronised with official r511 from r506 (Click here for changelog)

* Updated MediaInfo to 0.7.41 from 0.7.35 which improves support for weird files

* Updated PMSEncoder from 1.4.0 to 1.5.1

* Fixed conflict between MT and ASS/SSA Subtitle option

* ASS option no longer breaks VOBSUB subtitles

* MP4 container + SRT subtitles are no longer bugged.

Note: In that specific case, ASS subtitle styles won't apply. This is because of a MEncoder bug so there is nothing to be done about it. You can mux the MP4 container to MKV using MKVToolnix to fix that.

This program is really coming on (Y)

Thanks for the updates!

Yeah I use it almost daily :)

That's good to hear. I just wasn't sure if people came back to look at this thread for new info or ramblings. I know I just have spirton.com bookmarked and check it every now and again to see what new software he has released.

PS3 Media Server (SubJunk Build) 1.21.2-SB24

Changelog:

- Synchronised with official r557 from r553 (Click here for changelog)

- Rollback MEncoder from 32674 to 32198 to fix visible glitches in video. 32198 contains all known advantages from 32674 (VOBSUB and header compression support) so there is no known downside.

1.22.0-SB26:

* Synchronised with official r578 from r561 (changelog)

http://www.spirton.com/

This release should fix most of the "data corrupted" issues people have been experiencing, especially with DVD, MKV and MP4 files.

(Y)

Nice, I had just updated this on Saturday to the previous update (I was not aware that version was out) as I was having all sorts of issues playing content. Thing is though the last version released seemed to fix all my issues, so if this one is the one claiming to fix all the issues, the issues should really, really be fixed. So will update to this new version when I get home. (Y)

1.22.0-SB27:

* Synchronised with official r588 from r578 (changelog)

* Windows service hopefully fixed by using ProgramData instead of AppData by default for configs

Note for Windows users:

To retain your old settings you may have to copy your old config file/s to a new directory.

To find out where the new directory is on your computer, run the program and go to the Traces tab and look on the 14th line, the line that says "Profile directory:", that is the folder your config files should be saved now.

    • Alpine Linux 3.24 released with support for COSMIC Desktop and other improvements by David Uzondu Alpine Linux 3.24 has been released with updated system packages, including Linux kernel 6.18 and Rust 1.96. The team also added IPv6 support to the system installer, and they introduced automatic serial console configuration for headless setups. System76's COSMIC desktop environment is now available in the community repo. System76 originally started building this DE because its developers found GNOME to be pretty limited. Plus, it did not help that with virtually every GNOME update, the changes broke System76's custom desktop extensions. As for system packages, the Alpine team moved GTK+ 3.0 from the main repository to the community repository due to its legacy status. py3-setuptools has been upgraded to version 82.0.0, while the old pkg_resources module has been completely dropped. The team also removed outdated packages that still relied on py3-six and GTK+ 2.0. In addition to that, libsoup 2 has been removed because the library was affected by multiple security vulnerabilities. If you're a GRUB user, the Alpine Team said that you must manually run the grub-install command with your specific device or EFI options right after upgrading your system, otherwise, your computer may fail to boot properly with the newly updated GRUB 2.14 bootloader. New installations of Alpine Linux now offer an optional path to a /usr-merged directory layout if you set the BOOTSTRAP_USR_MERGED environment variable to 1 before you execute the setup-disk command. If you already run an older installation, you can migrate manually by installing the merge-usr package and executing its binary as the root user. The team recommends this layout to align Alpine with modern Linux standards, though you should verify your custom scripts before making the switch. Alpine Linux is a pretty tiny (~5MB) Linux distro built around musl libc, BusyBox, and OpenRC. It's been around since 2005, comes with its own package manager called Alpine Package Keeper (APK), and is widely used in modern cloud computing and software deployment.
