I've got a load of Japanese/Asian/Foreign horror flicks for me and the girl to watch this weekend, first time I've ever used subs on PS3MediaServer, works great! A lot easier to setup than I thought (in terms of changing font size etc).

Some of the flicks are

I was looking at Sony Bravia KDL32V5810 which has a network port and supports DLNA streaming from a PC for music, pictures and video, could i use PS3MediaServer to stream to the TV without the need for a box inbetween?

Most likely, I've connected my PC running PS3MS direct into the ethernet port on my KDL37W5710 and it worked fine. The program even recognises that it's a Bravia and uses a TV icon to display.

BTW Happy Birthday (Y)

Hide your group name so it looks like a legit rip silly :p

Being honest I doubt 95% of people that watch 'ripped' films get them legit, lets not try to kid anyone here ;)

They were taken straight from my download folder, rather than my external drive which yes is all single names with Cover thumbnails.

Nooooooooes! My name is aXXo and I tend to tag all my legit rips like that (Y)

You tag your own rips?

Teh 1337 internal encodes!!!111

Waiting for the weekend for Avatar in 1080p with DTS, I still haven't seen it yet :( Yeah yeah 3D is better blah blah, my couch and 1080p is good enough :p

Same problem when watching via PS3?

No and I have been able to watch HD video on the 360 in the past, with the PS3MS :/

( Before you suggest I start using the PS3, it's not connected and neither is my Turtle Beach headset, so I'd have to hook all that up every time and then back to the 360 when I'm done ... No thanks :p )

Few questions...

How recent did the latest build come out? Thinking maybe I need to upgrade. here is why...

So my other question is has anyone ever had the DTS sound just stop working after a minute?

More often than not, I have no issue at all playing DTS through my PS3. Actually it works all the time, no problem. Well today for the first time ever I had an issue with DTS on a 720p rip, the DTS would play for approximately 60 seconds, then just stop working, no audio at all. If I rewound or fast forwarded (then stopped as on larger files rewind sometimes work and fast forward always gives me a network error) but wherever I would start the movie from, DTS audio would work for about 60 seconds then just stop. No audio at all.

So hoping maybe it was just something with that one rip. I checked two other files I know are DTS and they work no issues at all.

EDIT - Think I found the latest build is 409, and I am WAY behind at 381, so hoping maybe the issue will just be fixed with an update.

Okay nevermind turns out I must have just never had a file with DTS HD. Apparently that type of audio does not like being streamed to a receiver according to what I've read elsewhere.

Just a quick few pics of the Sony Bravia interface when streaming via PS3MS

Is there something special I need to do to get my Bravia to recognize the PS3 media servier? When I did a search for media servers... nothing came up... ps3 hooked to a different TV has no issues finding it..

Not that i'm aware of, I don't actually use it like that was just to show RH the interface. But all I did was run a cable direct from the PC to TV and yeah did search media servers. I do sometimes find that the program itself is flaky on getting connections to my PS3 though.

    • Wow, this is some Iran, Cuba, China, Russia, North Korea-level citizen surveillance right there, the UK's government has gone totally mad. Power trip indeed, their politicians are totally out of control about this issue. They're starting to cross limits I wouldn't have imagined, to be honest. British people, fight this, your privacy and freedoms are in danger. Vote this government out of power.
    • Nintendo unveils The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, and it's out this year by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Confirming many rumors, Nintendo officially announced a remake of the classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the very first game in the series that offered a 3D experience to fans. Unlike previous remasters and re-releases, the originally 1998-released fantasy adventure game is being remade from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch 2 console this time. "The Nintendo 64 classic returns for a new generation in 2026, reborn exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2," said the company about today's announcement. While Nintendo didn't go into much detail about the project, other than confirming its existence, we did get a small teaser trailer at the Direct presentation today. Catch the footage below: With a tapestry as the backdrop, the first half of the trailer tells the tale of Hyrule, the Kokiri forest dwellers, and their fairy companions. It goes onto introduce "one particular boy" without a fairy, which then cuts to a sleeping Link, showcasing what looks like the new art style being introduced in the remake. Unfortunately, no gameplay or a look at the world has been revealed yet. The game originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1998, offering a time travel adventure where Link is once again going up against the evil king Ganondorf. The hugely well-received title has only been playable on modern Nintendo consoles using the Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo Switch 2 doesn't have a firm release date yet, but Nintendo says it will be released sometime in 2026. Considering just how many publishers are avoiding the Grand Theft Auto VI release nowadays, the company may copy that strategy and also opt to bring this out before November this year.
