Regarding Sin Cara's status, F4Wonline.com reports that he has been expecting to be released once his WWE contract is up and apparently he's not upset about it. There is no confirmation that WWE has or plans to part ways with Cara yet.

He clearly belongs in CMLL or something. He tried to do the WWE thing but clearly wasn't cut out for it.

That probably explains why he wasn't on RAW this week...

WWE Network launch announcement next month in Las Vegas?

As Dave wrote earlier, WWE began sending out media invites this evening to a "special event" on Wednesday 1/8 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.

That week is also the 2014 International CES, an international consumer and electronics trade show that WWE has regularly had a presence at. Last year, the company showcased their App, which has just debuted a few months prior to CES 2013.

The media invite announced that Vince McMahon would be in attendance. McMahon rarely attends such events, usually leading WWE to be represented by George Barrios or Stephanie McMahon. So, obviously something is planned.

Could this be the official announcement of the launch of the WWE Network? Stay tuned.

WWE may have parted ways with Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, the real Sin Cara, on Monday by informing him just a few hours before RAW. We're still waiting on confirmation of his departure.

Hunico will be working as Sin Cara going forward but may not be behind the mask permanently as there's already talk of bringing someone up from NXT to play the character.

WWE chose not to kill off the Sin Cara character completely because his merchandise has done well and there's a feeling that they have built up a character that pays into the colorful personality of WWE. The feeling is that the character didn't fail but the performer who played the character failed

.

As noted, there has been a lot of changes to WrestleMania XXX plans within the last week. Word now is that they are building to a Triple H vs. CM Punk match either leading up to WrestleMania or at the big event itself.

It is funny but i could imagine a TNA match or an old WCW match like that.

A light bulb has just appeared above Vince Russo's head.

Well, I suppose TNA did nearly do something similar recently...

    • It is silly there is no simple way to check whether this profile has been activated. CFRs are normal, but trying to even hide the fact if it's on / off seems silly, especially for something so user-facing. Surely Microsoft is "proud" of their engineering efforts on this one and ought to display it somwhere in the GUI.
    • Many Linux distros are not known for excellent battery life, so I'm not sure that is the best example. A more apt example may be Apple, but Apple's CPUs are simply far more efficient than Intel & AMD at single-threaded tasks like these, so "boosting" is not as power-hungry and less heat-inducing. Not to mention Apple will hardly engage P-cores for basic UI tasks; they use a pretty complicated QoS scheme to only activate P-cores for more serious workloads like HTML / JS execution or decompression or application launch. Microsoft is (smartly) doing it for launch, but also for UI tasks, which is the more nonsensical part: why ... do Windows 11's UIs need modern CPUs to boost? It should load so quickly that there's not even time for the CPU to boost.
    • I've not seen any controlled testing and, judging by Microsoft's mentality, within a year, they'll have added so much more bloat, it'll undo any perceptible latency benefit and we'll have boosted the CPU clocks for nothing.
    • It depends: heat soak is a thing. Initially on cold boot-up, the heatsinks & heatpipes are at ambient temp. After heatsinks & heatpipes warm up (through normal usage), they don't immediately cool to ambient temp when the load goes away. So their baseline is higher and the trigger point for fans is much less stress. Add a few more CPU spikes → it's too hot to stay at the same fan RPM → fans get triggered to start up up much sooner / get triggered to ramp much more quickly.
    • Can LibreOffice just shut up and worry about themselves and stop comparing themselves? Do we see Microsoft complaining about euro office?
