Mozilla Firefox 3.0 RC1

Recommended Posts

I don't know if you are still reading this thread, warwagon, as your last post was over a week ago, but if you are still looking for a good solution for image zooming in FF3 then you can't go wrong with Image Zoom. It's the best, most powerful extension of its type that I have found so far. It works with Firefox, Mozilla, Thunderbird, Netscape, and Flock.

It can zoom/reduce single images on a page or all images on a page.

Ok, I installed it. Where is the option to have a button for reload on each tab, or how can I set it up so I can reload a tab just by double clicking it?

Go to settings and then click on the mouse and you can make it behave any way you want to. To Reload a tab, it is normal just a double click, to reload all tabs you cvan set it so if you DC on the TB all tabs will reload. There are numerous selections.

Can anyone recommend me a good gmail swithcer? I have two accounts, but old Gmail Manager is not compatible with FF3...

Also, I had problems with crashing on some web sites, with little digging I found out that there is a problem with javascript that checkes for Silverlight installed, so the solution is disable Silverlight 1.0 plugins and install 2.0 beta and it works! :)

Tools > Tab Mix Plus Options > Mouse > Mouse Clicking > Double-click

Change the "on a tab" setting to "Reloads the tab", although on mine that was the default already.

Is there a compatibility website where I can check out what extensions are compatible with FF 3.0 RC1?

It's Fx. :D

IMNSHO it's enough to check the sandbox on addons.mozilla.org (you'll need a user account there)...

Almost every Fx2 extension has meanwhile been updated.

:)

(Alternatively, there are mostly replacements for Fx3...)

Went ahead and installed RC 1 and installed Adblock plus (thanks to Gary), while none of the other add ons I had installed worked. There is only one other one that I really want and that is a weather one.

Is there any ones people would like to specifically recommend? The old one I had got its weather from Weather.com which is my personal preference.

Forecast Fox Is Compatible. So is The Weather Bug.

Yes I saw those two when I was searching. The thing is, I just wanted personal opinions from those that use a weather extension.

I just use Intellicast as a bookmark on my BM toolbar. Those weather extensions slow down your browser. I get the same info off of the Intellicast website.

Thanks, man! That's exactly what I was looking for! What's up with these colors, though? The text on my tabs is red. Anyway to change that? Nevermind, I found it. Thanks again! Edited by mancode20

Anyway to save the currently opened tabs when I exit Firefox 3.0 RC1?

With 2.0, I shut my computer down without closing FF and then was able to reopen FF with the tabs when I restart the computer.

With 3.0 Beta 5, I had to click file, exit, then save before I shut down my computer.

Trying that same procedure in 3.0 RC1 doesn't not prompt me to save, nor does it save any of my open tabs.

When pressing the red 'X' at the top right, in the titlebar, there should be an option on the dialog box, which appears, stating "Save and Quit", as well as the "Quit" and "Cancel" buttons.

Does this not appear for you?

    • Surprise! We still can't get it right. With the current state of AI, the crappy software, the huge mega-corporations that back all of these idiot things, I think we are a very long way away from SAE Level 5. I, for one, will never get in one.
    • Nice. September/October GA?! I'll keep following it, but won't install any preview or beta versions.
    • Wow, that could have been dangerous, certainly not ready for these things. They have to be 100% or pretty well close to it. Not that I will see one i doubt, never mind ride in one, they may have them in London, but I doubt they will come to where I live.
    • Nothing kills CMF Phone 2 Pro's successor due to rising memory prices by Hamid Ganji Storage and RAM prices have been rising over the past year, leading to a significant increase in the cost of electronics for customers around the world. Many companies are now revising their plans for upcoming devices due to higher component costs and overall production expenses. CMF is the latest company to cancel the successor to one of its best-selling phones due to rising memory prices. CMF is a sub-brand of Nothing and focuses on making budget smartphones for growing markets. The brand launched the CMF Phone 2 Pro last year with some eye-catching specifications and an affordable price. While many customers may have been waiting for a successor this year, one of the company’s executives has announced that CMF will not release a new smartphone this year. And AI is to blame. As Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis announced on X, the company has been working on a successor to the CMF Phone 2 Pro, but with current memory prices, it cannot “build a phone that feels like a genuine step forward at a price that makes sense for CMF.” So, no new CMF phone will be launched this year. Meanwhile, Evangelidis said the company still has several new products in the pipeline, including some in entirely new categories. He added that the Nothing brand will also continue launching new products through 2026. Budget smartphones are among the first victims of the surge in RAM and memory prices, as they have become more expensive to build. The sharp increase in memory costs could also reshape the traditional price ranges associated with budget phones. Apple CEO Tim Cook also recently said that price increases for some of the company’s products are unavoidable because RAM and memory have become significantly more expensive this year. Analysts estimate that the base price of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro could rise to $1,399 due to current market shortages.
    • Nudge me when they bring back hardware audio acceleration so I can get my EAX 5 back. We've evolved graphics to real-time path tracing, but regressed audio some 15 years back in time with this stupid software audio stack.
