I'd like to learn which are the favorites of some of the forum members--not including their own entries. . .

I've got limited bandwidth here, as well as time, so downloading all 92 is not feasible. But I would like to listen to a few more of the forum's favorites. Any nominations?

Might also be interesting to see if there would be a consensus or a divergence between the users' and the admins' picks.

I also agree that this was one of the better of Dragon contests, and the least self-serving .

Also, I got to discover a new and useful site!

The question is, if you don't win will you be a regular? :)

i would but i may not be on as much since i'm on a borrowed pc.

borrowed meaning family member's pc i would indeed use this site.

because of this contest, i did find a few other site worth bookmarking

I hope that the people who signed up *just* for the competition are impressed by the solid community here enough to stay. That was the point of neowin's angle on the competition after all... surely? Some forums would have just done it for "active" members but neowin was good enough to let everyone do it :)

Yes, most of the sites have made it open to everyone, although a few have effectively made it that you have to be an active member to be in with a chance. One I found required you to be a member before the event was announced, which means I spent 1 minute on the site and closed it. This and other sites have had an interesting entry method and the site could well be helpful in the future, sites I'm likely to bookmark and hang around on.

Ah, well, that definitely makes it much easier to mix, but still, it's not like it takes a few minutes to whip together, especially if timing and flow are important :)

well all they will do is put all 5 clips right after each other, shouldn't take more than 5 mins

i think you underestimate the creativity of the staff here.....

They won't remix it other than putting the top 5 one after another. If they remix it any other way they will un do the original work the posters.

    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
