What a game. Wow, I'm speechless.

I have to disagree, David Villa has been sublime. Let's hope he comes to England over the summer.

Villa, Im sorry but i have to disagree, im from holland but i think sneijder is far more great player then villa so he scored 4 goals , i mean villa is an awesome player but sneijder is bloodform right now.

Okkk.. Just came back from the celebrations.

Before reading my post please read pages between 20-25.

See how many of u said ARDA TURAN was a bad player

and CZECH would easily eleminate turkey

but what did i say?

if turkey looses to czech republic, i would put a video to youtube of myself saying I AM A RETARD... for 1000 times

People WHOM do not understand football do not respond to me...

YOUUU ALL SEEEEEEEE a great comeback.

Name me another team whom came back from 2 goal down to beat 3-2 in the last 15 minutes and having the goalkeeper sent off and a striker played as a goalkeeper

NAMEEEEE MEE 1 team

PLEASEE

Turkey WILL win this cup.

TURKEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

again. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PEOPLE WHO SAID TURKEY WOULD NOT QUALIFY?

please respond.

Exactly, he scored 4 goals, started the tournament with a hat-trick and scored a superb goal in the ninety-something minute to take spain to the quarter finals. And the last goal he scored he was covered by two defenders and he emerged victorious.

If any player is going to light up this tournament it's going to be David Villa, I expected Christiano Ronaldo to do it but he's not showing his full potential.

Villa > Sneijder

Two Words: Calm Down.

or do you prefer Chill Out

See how many of u said ARDA TURAN was a bad player

No one said that, we just pointed out how arrogant it is of you to claim he's the best... Especially seeing as there are players who played better, have scored more goals, etc.

and CZECH would easily eleminate turkey

No one said that either.

and a striker played as a goalkeeper

He played for 27 seconds.

NAMEEEEE MEE 1 team

We can't name another team, cause obviously you can be as deluded as you are only when it comes to Turkey.

Turkey WILL win this cup.

Lol. Do you even think before posting? Like... how immature and ridiculous you look like?

all of you

i am sure you said czech republic would easily beat turkey..

and i know u are all dissapointed

you guys will be even more dissapointed when ARDA TURAN and NIHAT KAHVECI will hold up the EURO 2008 CUP...

please i beg you read pages between 20-25.

and see how i was right...

LOL- this guys had something to smoke? Turkey done well - but everyone knows Turkey dont have a team that can take it all the way....

turkey did not have a team to qualify for euro 2008 too

turkey did not have a team to qualify for the quarter finals too

thats what the media had said all along

but

what is the outcome?

Greece did it 4 years ago.

and now it is our turn.

please post without jealousy. especially english supporters. cause i dont see your team anywhere.. where you were favorites to qualify for euro 2008.

Nope, it wasn't, one player stood in front of Nihat just a little far from others who were trying to run back and he was left alone after a short dribbling.

I just saw the goal, he was really leveled with the defender. Really neat stuff. Now send me some of those delights, please.

Nothing wrong with being confident as you are, but you need to be realistic for a minute. Turkey is an average team and they will be good but in a few years out. Turkey will not beat Czech Republic this Sunday, let alone Croatia or Germany.
I agree with you.

I can understand one rooting for his/her home team, but that doesn't mean Turkey is playing an amazing game of football. Swiss was bad today, so was Turkey. It was an awful match. The reason why Turkey came back with 2-1, was partly luck, and part because they were just a tad stronger than Swiss. It doesn't prove Turkey to be an excellent team.

At this moment I think it's too early to call a winner. Whatever the result of this tournament will be, I'm pretty sure the winner will have deserved it. You can't win a championship with luck and poor play. (only Germany can do that.. j/k )

 Have you even watched any of the others players?
Such a bold statement.
What players have impressed people so far then?

Sneijder, Deco, Kuyt and Villa have been awesome in my opinion so far.

He's got form with outlandish statements about Turkey, flick back a few pages.

these are all the posts that were against turkish victory over czech republic.. also arda turan being a star

please write with logic next time all of you...

You pretty much all said czech republic would beat turkey easily and we did not stand a chance.

what was the score of last nights game?

please tell me.

yeah but smart people and smart investors would put money on turkey.

if they want to earn money that is.

I know you have pride for your country as do I, but what you just said is wrong. People will always bet on favorites that have shown their capabilities before. Italy was a favorite because they won the world cup, but that didn't mean anything as they are underperforming.

Turkey simply is not a favorite to win the tournament.

i know. that is my EXACT point.

turkey is NOT the fav. so turkey's odds are highest among other teams. so you would get a much better of a return rate betting on turkey

because

turkey WILL win euro 2008.

and most probably WC 2010 as well.

anybody has a good website for highlights in english or spanish?

i was given this page few posts back

http://www.footytube.com/

good site.

Also our coach terim had told the press that turkey would not practice penalty kicks because we would beat czech republic.

Yeah, and I'm sure he knew you'd score 2 goals in the last 5 minutes, one due to the goalies mistake, the other because Czech Rep. were caught off guard, practically sleeping (not that it matters, it's their fault).

    • That reminds me. Now that i have Quest 3 I should go back and try the first one in VR. ... last time i did that I tried it in some janky VR setup which was still really good.

    • An actual cosmic "Eye of Sauron" had been looking straight at us all along by Sayan Sen Image by Kovin P. Vasquez via Pexels | Not representative An international team of researchers has solved a long-standing mystery surrounding a distant blazar known as PKS 1424+240, helping explain why it produces some of the brightest high-energy gamma rays and cosmic neutrinos ever observed despite appearing to have a relatively slow-moving jet. The findings were published on June 6 in Astronomy & Astrophysics Letters. The study addresses a broader challenge in astrophysics: understanding how extreme cosmic objects accelerate particles to very high energies and produce very high-energy (VHE) photons and neutrinos. PKS 1424+240 is located billions of light-years from Earth. It has attracted attention for years because it is both a powerful source of VHE gamma rays and the brightest known neutrino-emitting blazar in the sky, according to observations by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. It is also associated with one of the strongest peaks in IceCube's nine-year neutrino sky map A blazar is a type of active galactic nucleus powered by a supermassive black hole that pulls in surrounding matter and launches jets of plasma moving close to the speed of light. What makes blazars unique is their orientation. One of their jets points almost directly toward Earth, making them appear exceptionally bright across the electromagnetic spectrum and allowing scientists to study some of the most extreme physical processes in the Universe. The scientists exclaimed it's like the 'Eye of Sauron' in deep space. Usually, the brightest gamma-ray-emitting blazars are expected to have jets that appear to move very quickly. However, radio observations of PKS 1424+240 suggested that its jet was moving much more slowly, creating a contradiction that became part of a long-running problem known as the "Doppler factor crisis." To investigate, researchers analyzed 15 years of observations from the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), a network of 10 radio antennas spread across the continental United States, Hawaii and St. Croix. Using a technique called Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), astronomers combine signals from widely separated radio telescopes to create a virtual Earth-sized telescope capable of revealing extremely fine details. The team combined 42 polarization-sensitive radio images collected between 2009 and 2025, creating a much deeper and more detailed view of the jet than had previously been possible. The observations were carried out as part of MOJAVE (Monitoring Of Jets in Active galactic nuclei with VLBA Experiments), a long-running program that studies the brightness, polarization and magnetic field structures of jets produced by active galaxies. The project aims to better understand how activity near supermassive black holes is linked to high-energy radiation and neutrino emission. “When we reconstructed the image, it looked absolutely stunning,” said Yuri Kovalev, lead author of the study and Principal Investigator of the European Research Council-funded MuSES project at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. “We have never seen anything quite like it — a near-perfect toroidal magnetic field with a jet, pointing straight at us.” The image revealed an unusual geometry. The researchers found that Earth lies almost directly in line with the jet, with a viewing angle of less than 0.6 degrees. In simple terms, astronomers are looking almost straight down the jet. This turned out to be the key to the mystery. Because the jet is aimed almost directly at Earth, a relativistic effect called Doppler boosting dramatically increases its apparent brightness. The study found that this effect boosts the emission by a factor of about 30 while also making the jet appear slower than it actually is. “This alignment causes a boost in brightness by a factor of 30 or more,” said Jack Livingston, a co-author at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. “At the same time, the jet appears to move slowly due to projection effects — a classic optical illusion.” The nearly head-on view also gave scientists a rare look at the jet's magnetic field. Using polarized radio signals, they detected a clear toroidal, or doughnut-shaped, magnetic field component. The observations suggest the jet carries an electric current and that its magnetic field helps launch, shape and stabilize the flow of plasma. Researchers believe this magnetic structure may also play a key role in accelerating particles to energies high enough to produce both gamma rays and neutrinos. “Solving this puzzle confirms that active galactic nuclei with supermassive black holes are not only powerful accelerators of electrons, but also of protons — the origin of the observed high-energy neutrinos,” Kovalev said. The research was conducted under the MuSES (Multi-messenger Studies of Energetic Sources) project, which investigates how active galactic nuclei accelerate particles and generate different cosmic signals, including light and neutrinos. Scientists say understanding how protons are accelerated and linked to neutrino production remains one of the major unanswered questions in astrophysics. The findings help explain why some blazars can appear to have slow jets while still producing extremely bright high-energy emissions. More broadly, the study strengthens the link between relativistic jets, magnetic fields, gamma rays and high-energy neutrinos. Researchers say the results provide new clues about how some of the Universe's most powerful natural particle accelerators work and offer important insights for multimessenger astronomy, which combines different types of cosmic signals to study extreme events in space.
