Woo Hoo!!! :D Finally got to Rank 25. Now what??? LOL

Guess I'll keep playing a try to bring my skill level up, or down depending on how you look at it. Still have a ton of in-game awards to get too.

And I guess one of these days I'll finish single player.

Congrats.

And I will give you a goal to chase. Try to catch up with Munky's 64184 points!!!

I was just comparing stats today with everyone, and was like WOAH when I saw that. DAMN!

Congrats AJ (Y) 6 more to go for me :(

Forgot all about singleplayer, I'll be around again tmw evening just had to cut short tonight :(

Sorry to hear you had to cut it short.

And what do you mean 6 more to go for you? I thought the last ranking up was at 25,000, am I wrong???

I just checked, and you are over 23,000. Nice. (Y)

So just curious, am I wrong about the 25,000 score being the last rank??

And I will be on in about 40 minutes give or take.

Congrats.

Pretty sure its a lot more than 25k for rank 25. I am at around 24k I think and am at rank 19, same as John.

Habnad, congrats on reaching rank 25 (Y)

Thanks all!

Yeah Larry, I dont see that happening. Munky is just a monster at this game, plain and simple. He wouldnt have to play for a few weeks in order for me to catch up.

It's 37000 points for rank 25.

I dunno if this was posted yet, but here you go fellas...Conquest mode

http://xbox360.gamespy.com/xbox-360/dice-p...2/895221p1.html

will be coming down the downloadable pipeline next month.
In Conquest mode, two teams vie for control of five control points carefully placed around the map. In order to capture a control point (identified by a large flag pole), you just have to stand next to it... unless there is someone from the opposing team also standing nearby, in which case you must fight to the death. That happens a lot in Battlefield: Bad Company, so you should be used to that by now. Once the flag is captured, you can move on to capture another, or stake a claim to the current flag and attempt to defend it. The more flags your team holds, the faster your opposition will bleed out respawn tickets; capturing all five flags will result in an extreme drain on your enemies' tickets and cause them to lose the lot in a matter of seconds.
The content update also features four retooled maps from the retail game that have been relit for different times of day and alternate weather conditions. These maps have also had their combat zones altered so, in most cases, you'll have a larger area to fight in and can explore the surrounding environment a little more. The impact of expanding the combat zones can't be ignored, as this offers further tactical options (the most obvious being superior flanking opportunities) that add to the already huge smorgasbord of strategic planning that the game offered pre-patch.

lol, it's pretty bad I can tell which map you guys are playing from those screenshots and tell exactly where you are in them  I need to stop playing this game lol.

Good pictures guys :p I don't think I've played with you before Dave? Welcome to Neowin though! :)

I wonder when we'll see Conquest, "next month" is technically tomorrow the 1st of August..I hope it doesn't mean the 31st though :p

IGN have a done a round up/review of the new conquest mode, damn it looks like it's going to be fun ...

If any of the regulars don't have an Insider account to get the Hi-res stuff, give me a shout and I'll see what I can do.

thanks munky! i heard about you during our games last night. Hope to play with you soon, my gamertag is Fusion Reaction.

Some capture points are intentionally designed to keep you out in the open. One, on End of the Line, even goes so far as to place one of the five flags on a faraway island. You'll need to hop on a boat and avoid sniper fire as you make your way through tall trees to find the flag. Also on the island is an artillery installation, so you could theoretically bombard any assailants with shells. That is, until the snipers or demo guys get you in their sights.

Thanks for the links. (Y) I'm getting psyched for this. Hopefully it'll be released real soon.

I wonder what bug fixes are going to be included.

^ I liked the sound of that part too Larry.

Also one small thing I noticed from the new gameplay videos, they've included a small Skull graphic in the player list to let you see who is still alive and who is dead on your team.

The ability to go where you want when you want now is going to be a great addition. Definitely one thing I'm looking forward to a lot. Expect to see more "Munky Routes" joining up the flags when this is released :p

Also, still 4 people per squad by the looks of it.

End of the Line is a huge map to begin with. I can't imagine how much bigger its going to get with this download.

I like how this game has brought on it's own vocabulary and sayings. "Unscrewing tanks" "Munky routes"

lol I failed miserably trying to unscrew a tank the other night. He just watched me run at him with a drill and reversed, then blasted me to pieces :(

Either that or they jump out everytime and I end up just repairing the damn thing :pinch: lol

Yeah, End of the Line is a pretty awesome map. I really like them opening up the water part more (Y) There used to be this really cool map in Modern Combat with a city completely flooded with water and all the transport was basically boats or those amphibian tanks.

I hope they introduce a snow level and water level as DLC somewhere down the line

AJ, today i'll stand by and let you get some crates. promise i won't team kill you.

One crate, then we'll be even. ;)

I'm probably not going to be on tonight though.

Has anyone noticed if you get points or not for unscrewing tanks? I managed to blow up one the other night using the drill, but the "Destroy Enemy Vehicle +10" didnt show up for me.

Larry's "Big Gun"

And as you can see in this picture, I was shooting at an Enemy Copter that was trying to kill us, and all I hear in my mic is "Larry, stand still, this is a hilarious picture."

And I am incredibly psyched for Conquest mode, it is what Battlefield really is to me.

I have definitely gotten used to Gold Rush, but playing the game since the release of 1942, I am and always will be a Conquest Mode Man. I really cannot wait for it.

Especially since I cannot tell you how many times I have killed myself going out of bounds, still not used to having to "open up" the rest of the map, so that alone is a welcome addition.

Oh, just as munky pointed out, I also noticed it appears it is still 4 man squads, so much for wishing for that.

And we do have quite a vocabulary going here. LOL

Yep, you do. I got the Destroy Enemy Vehicle points plus the 20 points for killing two guys in it.

    • While I agree with all that, it just proves there's an a** built for every seat.
    • Lol are you mad because I'm not using AI? I'd rather pay people than lose a bunch of potential customers and get humilated because I used AI. A lot of people won't purchase a game if it used AI during development.

    • hahahahah wow hahahah you sure got me there hahahahahah, you know that bad performance is always due to poor optimization by the developers, right???
    • "I know for a fact I'll never own one of these." This is why choice is better than government regulation. Globaly Android has something like 72% of the smartphone market. Granted the vast majority of that is low end phones. Apple can and should charge whatever they want. The market will decide if it is too much.
