Xeta
The new graphics do look too bright and colorful for a game like Diablo. I hate how WoW is heavily influencing it's graphics. Diablo should be dark and crude. You shouldn't be able to see everything coming at you. That was one thing that I liked about Diablo. You never knew what was going to come out to kill you. Meh, I found the extremely limiting light radius from the first Diablo irritating. Yes, it did add some scare to the game, but I felt it got old fast. I just ended up keeping that infrared vision spell up as much as possible to counter it. I was glad to see the light radius was near non existant in Diablo 2. I would like to see a bit grittier look for Diablo 3 than what has been displayed so far. But the game is quite a ways from release so there is no need to panic... yet. :p
+shift. MVC Posted July 8, 2008 MVC Share Posted July 8, 2008 If the graphics still look like this a month or two from release, that would because for uproar. Maybe even pitchforks and torches. ;)

nubs
If the graphics still look like this a month or two from release, that would because for uproar. Maybe even pitchforks and torches. ;) I don't know what you mean but the game will probably not be out until mid 2009. It would be astonishing if it were released in time for Christmas. edit: My bad. My reading comprehension has something to be desired. I think the graphics look good as they are. Remember that Blizzard has always been the company that releases to the lowest common denominator in terms of requirements. WoW is a perfect example of how a game can look great but still have low requirements. I expect Diablo III to be similar in execution.

spacer
Did anyone notice the "new class" that was added to the D3 website yesterday? http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/archivist.xml His abilities are lol-tastic. The "Lorenado" and The "Quest bolt" are pretty funny; but, "Shush" is my favorite. He even has "Book vision"! lol I love it when Blizzard does silly stuff like this. HeartsOfWar
Diablo III is further from a release than Starcraft 2, and we all know how long ago it went public. I wouldn't count on Diablo III until late 2010 or mid 2011. Personally, I think the art direction of Diablo III is pretty nice. I like the use of the color

Yusuf M. Veteran Posted May 4, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 4, 2009 Don't expect Diablo III until the release of StarCraft II's second campaign. That's late-2010 to mid-2011.
SuperJediMedia
TBH, I expect NO Diablo III for a long time, myself We haven't even got a new Diablo trailer or Poster. And I expect a tons of trailers and Promo posters first.

Harreh
Excuse the text, but is this what Diablo 3 is looking like? (bottom screen)<img> If so, yeah I do agree it needs darkened down a bit. I remember reading Blizzard's response to this image, and it isn't a very fair comparison since the image is so heavily photoshopped. To get such heavy post processing is just too demanding. I don't really think that screenshots do a game justice, since it's about how it looks when you're playing the game, how the it looks with everything moving about. Plus, I agree with the others that it won't be released for a while at least.
:: Lyon ::
I think they should have just gone quiet last year and instead, saying: "Hey, there IS a Diablo III and it'll be out next month!" :{

Xilo
They need to build hype for the game. And people need to get used to it. You know? They can't just come out of the blue and release it. It would make the game seem like it was "rushed". Anyone that's interested in Blizzard games pretty much damn well knows they take forever to release games and they are always top notch quality. Blizzard could probably get away with building no hype, and still make blockbuster sales off StarCraft II or Diablo III.
SuperJediMedia
I wouldn't worry about the Release date. Patience!!! I would only worry about how cartoony the game is... They can take Forever as they want. but just don't giive me a Diablo game that looks like Kids/Teen version! Buio
Personally I still think Blizzard releases info about their game projects to early. Of course it's still necessary with some hype buildup. But instead of presenting their upcoming game 3 years before release, they could try to wait a bit longer and just hype it for lets say 1 year instead. SuperJediMedia
Nah... I think personally it's good/relaxing to know already Diablo 3 is on it's way. Instead of I ask myself repeatly "Where is the Announcement? Diablo 1/2 are Popular. How the hell they don't want to make more?" every damn day, you know. I rather KNOW it's being made, and it takes LONG time to make, than not knowing at all. I guess we are all different! I DON'T get the gamers "if it's made, it must come out soon" Mentality. No patience or understanding how difficult it is to make these games? I look at making games a long/hard/tedious process. As LONG as I know the game is being made, it CALM me down! :) Once you understand some programming, or even graphic design you will understand that it's not easy to Rush! See all these AI impressive behavior in Fallout 3/Mass Effect/Oblivion, you know, that takes years to PERFECT! I WANT, but I will have patience, you know! ;)

It looks good, but these colorfulness are not like the Old School Diablo though... see the Gameplay. Barbarian And WitchDoctor Gameplay Music What's shown so far the music is Epic and grand. Yeah it's Awesome, but not like Diablo 1's Eerie/Ambient. Not sure will deeper levels of Hell be familiar to Diablo 1 type of music? You can hear the Music here W/ Artwork and Game graphics. Teaser Trailer And, the Teaser Trailer, I am pretty sure most of you have seen Already many times Well, these are just General scope of things. More in detail things I will talk about later. Darksoft
This looks very interesting. I might purchase diablo II and check it out.. I did a quick google search about diablo II and it says that there is the normal game, and an expansion pack. how are you supposed to play it? install the normal game and patch it with the expansion pack right away or normal first and then expand it? I want to have the full experience to enjoy this upcoming game better. thanks
Dance.
install the normal game & patch it with expansion :]. you need to finish the first IV acts before you can move on the Vth act (expansion). =) Brilliant game imo.
ncc50446
Darksoft - Buy both. The exp has items/characters, like the Druid and assassin. Best just to buy both, and install both at the same time I hope that the not loosing exp part isn't true...Sure, in the first mode it isn't, but in nightmare and hell mode you should lose exp. I also want more bad items again. In Diablo 1, if something was unidentified it had a chance to be a horrible weapon with things like -5 to str. I want that back...Other than that and the music in Diablo 1 being better (Sounded a little more scary), I'm excited!
