Speaking of mods, last night I tried playing TF2 dodgeball on a server. Haven't had this much fun in quite a while.

Game mode is two teams full of only pyros trying to compression blast homing crit rockets and nukes at each other.

With regards to PropHunt, it's okay. Kinda humourous at first, but it dies off when you're up against people who knows the maps off the top of their heads. In addition, the mod's a private mod and thus there are only a handful of servers - 3 of them are GamingMasters.co.uk's servers (which give me terrible ping), and one in the US which is always maxxed out.

edit: There's only one server for TF2 dodgeball. Server IP is 208.43.4.58:27015

Lol, I was playing dodgeball last night, really fun.

What Steam name do you use? Since there's only one server we might have collided heads last night. :p

LOL that looks a lot of fun. I could stick it on my clan's server if anyone in the UK fancies playing. It's only a 14 man server but big enough for some dodgeball :p

Unfortunately it's a private mod, so I highly doubt the same guy who wrote the mod would allow it to be used outside his own server.

Drop And Give Me Terror!

October 29, 2009 - The Soldier

At ease, you wastes of skin. The Powers That Be have commanded me to write another short missive?I'm told it will be broadcast on some manner of punch-card tube machine and read by the thin, stupid youth of today, who evidently ignored my past instructions to stop wasting their lives and do more push-ups.

When I inquired what this missive should contain, I was instructed only that it had something to do with an upcoming pagan moon worship festival, and that it should be "terrifying". Evidently, the youth of today enjoy being scared. Why? Because you don't know what real fear is. Get out a pen and write this in your poem books: I have personally killed 6,078 men in cold blood while looking them in the eye; jumped on 1,455 live grenades; and stuffed fourteen feet of my own intestine back into my stomach. If that doesn't scare you out of your frilly pink leotards, guess what: You are an idiot and you hate America. The next time you visit your grandfather, take out your ipoot headbuds, pull up your goddamn pants, and ask him what a war is. If you're not standing in a puddle of your own Jarate by the time he's finished talking, you should ask him to start over, because you weren't paying attention.

So listen up! An update will arrive later today. There will be ghosts! There will be exploding pumpkins! You will receive achievements and candy prizes! And by God you will be frightened by it or I will give you something to be frightened about!

This should be fun.

I got most of the achievements in normal play, but ended up just getting a guy to stand there to get the Gibus.

I dominated one guy with it, but right before that happened he unequipped it

Edit: Oh yeah, the costume one was bugged for me, had to kill 3 spies for it to register.

    • Samsung messages is still alive and well. They reversed that and decided to our more effort into it.
    • I think every American should have a course in a 'dry sense of humour' at school; and perhaps 'using sarcasm in jest' oh, and also 'the use or irony in humour'.
    • What they really need to do is automatically spell "loses" and "lose" correctly since nobody seems to know how to anymore. Then they blame spellcheck/autocomplete and don't realize autocomplete is just filling in the word for them automatically so it was misspelled in the first place.
    • If someone chooses to continue using SB and therefore goes through the manual intervention in the thread, afterwards the BSOD problem is gone. Whether they then re-enable the task doesn't matter, they're done, though on such machines it might pay to keep it disabled in case the next update (if there is a next) causes the same problem. OTOH, if someone disables SB in the BIOS, the problem is also gone. Incidentally, I noticed that this task exists even on machines that don't support SB. It's just installed across the board...and runs. Doing what on such machines is a little hazy.
