yeah HP has horrible heating problems

Most laptops with a high-powered graphics card do have heating problems.

My HP laptop has a Quadro card and it gets fire hot if it's not on my aluminum cooling pad.

Get a $30 cooling pad, and problem solved.

not all of them do, mostly HP's do, high graphcs card or not, alot of gaming laptops have good cooling systems.

I know from experience i've had two Recent hp laptops(with integrated GPU's) and my current system with an nvidia GTX 260m, and it has absolutely no heating problems, the most it would get is 65c will playing crysis,L4D, and team fortress. so it's just because HP's don't know how to build an good cooling system for an laptop

65C sounds like a pretty bad heating problem to me...

The point is that if you have a high-powered gpu, there will be a ton of heat blowing out of the thing. You can't do a damn thing about it since you can't exactly throw in a 2lb. copper heatsink on it.

it isn't, check your temperatures on your laptop right know it's probably idling around 40-50c right now but you don't feel it, 65c is not hot, the max is 100c and you'll start feeling the heat around 72c

again not all high powered laptops are hot, this was a problem with earlier laptops but not current and this is about HP which has a known problem with heating(WITH an intergrated nvidia 7100m)

Hmm sounds interesting. Is there an easy way to check the temp? I'm at work now, but I'll give it a check when I get home.

Latest from the TF2 blog:

Over the next few days we'll be removing all TF2 items that were earned using external idling applications. We're going to adopt a zero tolerance policy for external applications used to manipulate the persistent item system. Due to us not having a policy in place prior to today, this time we're only removing the items earned through cheating the system. Going forward, if we find users using external applications, we'll remove all of their items. If you're interested, only about 4.5% of the players in TF2's community will be affected by this cleansing process.

Meanwhile, everyone who took the moral high road will soon be finding a new hat in their inventory. We've also significantly increased the chance of finding any of the existing hats.

We realize there is a high level of demand for items, and we're still working on systems to allow you to find them in new ways (via Trading, and crafting duplicates into desired items). However, we need to draw the line at running external applications.

Ouch! Hahahaha. I'm so glad I never used any of those idling programs. I hope I get the Sniper's hat.

Seems pretty stupid, people used the idling program because of the lame system Valve made that clearly doesn't work. What use is releasing an update that gives "more" hats when there are plenty of people who play the game daily who have yet to get one?!

Bah! I've used the idling program but I never had got any unlocks from it. No free hat for me then. At least now I'll maybe unlock one of the hats. I've yet to unlock any :(

I wouldn't say it's stupid. At most, it's harsh. You're right - people used idling programs because of the "old" system. I guess the hats are more rare than people expect. Ever since the Sniper/Spy update, I've only come across ~10 people that had or used hats. Most of the time, I usually ask if anyone has any hats. Personally, I only have one hat: the Fancy Fedora (Spy).

That sucks. Look on the bright side. At least you won't get your items removed. Imagine having found a hat or two from idling, only to have it removed by Valve. That would really suck.

http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php

there you go, it's totally normal for your GPU to get to high 60-low70c(mine stays in the 60 cause i'm awesome) when your gaming if it get's higher then you have an problem, But HP's has bad heat displacement

in my laptop i can actually feel the HDD more than i can feel the GPU(Which gets hotter than the HDD), if you GPU is idling around 60c then you have an problem(it's will probably hit 80s when you game and you'll really feel it, the max is about 100c)

here's mine idle

65C is really normal for a video card under load... my 9600gt in a well cooled system runs around that hot under full load.

Hell some cards like the 4870 can idle that hot.... Video cards can take much higher temps than cpus

The server I play on typically has 2-3 or even more hat-wearers on each team, that was before the new halo hat.

I lost a hat....despite being the only hat I had it was a heavy football helmet....retarded hat for a class I never play so I didn't mind losing it.....at least I still have my soldier medal. :D

One interesting fact about the "Cheaters Lament", it doesn't cloak with spies :p

Had a really annoying player on our server who kept going on about how he had one and we didn't, he went spy, cloaked, walked out and instantly died

Oh yeah, and apparently you can still get the cheaters lament through random drops.

Edit: Proof of it sucking on spies:

Can the enemies see it? Your looking at a friendly spy which you can already see anyway, enemy spies are (when fully cloaked) 100% invisible unless they are damaged or bumped into....does the halo still show when they are invisible?

Either way, I still think the halo looks gay as hell, lol......not trying to insult anyone who uses it, but I laughed like mad when I saw a soldier with it and was glad I didn't get one. :p

I fired up TF2 and received my free hat: Cheater's Lament. To be honest, I was hoping for the Sniper's hat.

Yeah true, it would've really sucked if I lost a hat :p I don't really care about not having the halo though. It looks pretty dumb :p

Yes, the other team can see it.

After I said "We can see the halo", a few guys on the other team (at the gates) agreed.
