So after looking at the Replay update comic at the end it looks like "Meet the Medic" is coming soon and there will not be a "Meet the Pyro" unless it some user made thing since the director for the other "Meet the..." is :wilted_rose: .

Interesting, seems that Valve now mark the first x crafted items with a indicator in the item's name. Pretty cool, although my attempt ended up with a Pugilist's Protector. :(

I added detection of this to TF2B, so if you're lucky to have one of these items you can show it off in all it's glory.

I finally got Your Eternal Reward. I'm in love

I was seriously a terrible spy before, but with Eternal Reward and Cloak & Dagger, I'm leading the charts a lot, or at least close to the top. It's so fun! :D

That's better than me. I ended up crafting a soldier's stash and trophy belt. Both of which I already had :pinch:

Ended up trading them for a Buckaroo's Hat and Bloke's Bucket Hat

Both brilliant hats in my opinion, but ouch. You got a good deal on the trades though.

I have a duplicate Le Party Phantom (I got another from a Secret Saxton drop) ontop of said Pugilist's Protector; now I just need to find someone that wants them.

You should try playing Spy with the Dead Ringer/Revolver combo, if you can master the playstyle you can massacre other offensive classes as they don't expect the challenge.

You mean shoot, dr, run to metal, repeat?

No, more along the lines of revolver the hell out of your victim, activate DR only if your survival depends on it or if you're going to lull said victim into a false sense of security.

The revolver is actually pretty fearsome damage wise, so if you can land your shots consistantly, it's quite easy to start taking people out.

What? Where did you here that? That's sad news.

I don't know where you guys are getting that from, the last panel of page 5 Miss Pauling clearly states "Everyone on the RED team".

Not only that, but if you're going by the absense of the Pyro in the comic, then I'd also add that the Medic is absent too.

In other news, it seems that it's confirmed the replays lagging servers issue is due to a threading bug on Linux hosts (File writes on the main thread, hurr). Hopefully I'll be able to make something of consequence once it's resolved; until then I've got a little test that I'm trying to upload after slogging through the regular freeze spikes.

I've never had much of a problem dealing with dead ringer spies, but then again I'm a relatively good pyro.

Yeah I just airblast them until their dr wears off...

I just hate them in arena 1v1s, since if you arent playing pyro (or have milk, jarate), dr spies basically cant lose, they just shoot, dr, run away, repeat.....

I just set them on fire after they cloak, it used to be much easier (Simply hurting them with the flamethrower would set their cloaked form on fire) but Valve fixed that in an update (it wasn't fair to spies really)

I find that people don't seem to care about spies, unless they're uncloaked or on fire.

Well you get 2 points per backstab as a spy. I go by kills more than points. 44 is good but think about the people who get 1 point per kill, the scout below you might have killed more people than you ( i dont know how many time she/he got points for capping a point or if they were scout for the whole map time)

The flamethrower still sets cloaked spies on fire, always has and always will, it's completely fair to spies considering pyros are the spies hard counter....there was an unlock in testing that made spies fireproof, but it was scrapped (still in the beta I think).

The DR itself removes afterburn (and it has for some time, I think since the beginning), but other then that all that's required is a quick puff in the DR spies direction after he uses his DR and he is lit ablaze once again.

It all depends on how skilled the Spy in question is. An experienced Spy that knows the map and how TF2 plays out can usually avoid getting into a Pyro's range and take them out with their Revolver from the outside edge of the Pyro's flame range. In my personal experience, the Pyro is only a hard counter to the traditional Cloak'n'Stabsap Spy; the limited range really gimps a Pyro when vs an "Offensive Spy".

Backstabs are cool and all, but it's highly situational that you can pull them off, and you'll eventually hit a wall when the opposition gets whacked-out paranoid.

It depends on the skill of the pyro as well. If you are talking about w+m1 pyros I fully agree with you. But against a pyro who is good with his shotgun or good with the flaregun, a revolver spy will have a more difficult time without at least catching fire or taking damage.

I have seen pyros w+m1 into a revolver using spy and, as you imply, get owned. But as a halfway decent pyro player myself I don't let a spy get free revolver shots on my, if I do not see him I will duck behind a corner, if I do see him, I will light him on fire with my flaregun, causing him to at least run and DR out of it (harder to hit with precision weapons while you burn) or leave me alone.

Either way, pyro is still a hard counter to the spy, because at the very least the pyro is the only class who can really deny a spy access to an area, if the pyro is camping a dispenser or is aware of the spies presence in the area.

Also this has been submitted to the Saxxy awards. This guy does some great videos, this is no exception.

I don't get it? Seems awful to me :/

The hat is the main thing, it's from Street Fighters, it's the cap that M.Bison wears, and there's a well known clip where he does exactly what the Soldier does in that clip. Hence the hat's description in the game.

    • The GEEKOM A8 mini PC is 20% off (lower than Prime Day pricing) plus Huge Storewide Sale by Steven Parker GEEKOM is back with a deal on a variant of its A8 Mini PC powered by AMD's Ryzen 7 8945HS, which came out in 2024 with a TDP of just 45W, with a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a Turbo Boost of 4.9 GHz; although we never reviewed this variant, we did check out the Ryzen 9 version. As a reminder of what you get, below are the specifications for this Mini PC. This knocks $350 off the price compared to the $999 Ryzen 9 configuration. In both instances, a Windows 11 Pro license is also pre-loaded. As I said previously, this appears to be an update on the A7 with the only difference being the newer CPU. The packaging has changed quite a bit from the A7. Instead of dark colors, now the box is completely white, and the foam cushion has been replaced by a cardboard mould that the A8 sits in, above a small envelope that contains a thank you card and booklet that has guidance on all of the controls, how to access the A8 to swap out the SSD or memory, and safety information in several European languages. Upon removing the cardboard mould, you can find another cardboard compartment that contains the power lead, HDMI cable, VESA plate, and a bag of screws. What’s In The Box 1 x A8 Mini PC 1 x Power Adapter 1 x HDMI Cable 1 x VESA plate and bag of screws 1 x Envelope with booklet and Thank you card Unlike the A7, the VESA mount option is back with the A8.
