Yay hackers impossible to ban.

On my server we ban around 1 Aimbotter every other day. (The blatant kind) and every few days we might sniff out someone using a triggerbot or wallhack. Now these users can just keep setting up new accounts. I know Valve says they will be 'monitoring' new signups for these types of nefarious users but realistically thats ********* and we all know that these cheaters will get on any way possible they will find any and all loopholes.

Atleast before they had to keep buying the game which was a deterrent to being banned now it's going to be overrun with cheaters. I'm pretty disappointed.

Sounds more like your server is just banning anyone with extremely good aim, aka hardcore competitive players.

I've never really ever had an issue with "hackers", it's a rare occasion we might get a speedhacker. Other than that every day is an average day.

In other news I spent the last few hours hacking in support for the new stuff to my backpack viewer; Strange items function a little oddly - the quality name seems to change or "level up" when the kill counter hits certain values.

^^^ This... I get so sick of hearing people yell "Hacker!!" when they are just GOOD! They practice way more on one class than most people do the whole game so they know what works and what doesn't.

It's very easy to spot a hacker but you best be getting a fraps of them doing it prior to banning as some have been reporting to valve that servers are booting people without justification and getting the servers yanked!

I've racked up 250 hours of TF2, but I haven't played it in 1.5 year +.

Am I in for a shock? Seems its filled with fluff now :/

I would hardly say fluff, a few of the new items really mix things up. For instance, the Black Box is great with the Gunboats since you can jump and restore the health, great for a roamer.

Last time I played was before hats, item drops and now all this crafting stuff.

Wow...well a lot has changed. But you'll find that a lot of the items are pretty good. Hats are purely cosmetic (Except those that invoke set bonuses). If you played before item drops that means you last played before the Sniper vs. Spy update. That was a long time ago...

just played it for the first time! Awesome game..though i am glad i didnt pay for it. Dont think i would enjoy it for more than few weeks.

Yeah, thats how it gets you. Then you discover players that you like to play against as they are good or fun.

Then suddenly its several month later and you have a hat collection which rivals most millionaires wives

No actually. When a guy is spinning 360 degrees with the Spys gun and headshotting everything in sight we've got a hacker. And we have people like that every other day. We run one of the most popular range of servers in the world.

Or loving the lagging hitboxes. You run towards the left, about 30 cm into a wall facing away from the BLU spawn, and then BOOM headshot from a frickin' sniper.

But every now and then you can catch some of these idiots headshotting spies and you know you've got them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying every case was as I described; just that usually in my experience it's more a matter of an asshat comp player and an irritated admin looking for an excuse to get rid of him/her.

Ugh, this update has totally disorganised my backpack (link). It's a complete and utter mess right now, I need to come up with a new sorting method or grab an expander; how about you guys?

P.S. If anyone wants that Pugilists Protector or Trophy Belt I'm very much open to offers. Dupes and etc are also up for offer, I need to do a clearout.

I see that my Reserve Shooter has a number assigned to it. Does this mean anything?

The first X items to be crafted have a number attached in their name, although in TF2 itself it only displays up to #100. (The API continues to output the number, hence how the site knows)

It was originally intended to reward people that craft hats just after updates, not sure what it's doing on weapons now though. I have Enforcer #187 myself.

:p

Downloading again just now.

It's definitely not fluff. It adds a lot to the game. Honestly, though, sometimes I just want to play on a server with the regular old setups for all the classes. The new stuff can be extremely fun, but a lot of the time you'll find yourself on servers where they just end up goofing off with all the new weapons now instead of going after the team-based style of gameplay.

I'm intrigued to know if we're likely to see more hackers how that TF2 is free-to-play. Hopefully not :(

On another note, what's the best way to remove an installed HUD from TF2? Should I just save my config, delete the tf folder, and allow the game to regenerate it?

Free to play?! Already have it but nice.. why did they choose to do this? (not complaining)

It's obvious when you think about it, the Mann Co. store is now the primary method of funding TF2. It fits in with Valve's "entertainment as a service" paradigm, and allows Valve to not only profit off of updates, but share the love with 3rd party contributors.

I kid you not, the hat drop system is on steroids for me at the moment.

In the past 48 hours I have had 3 hats drop. You read that right, three.

I already have a V. Toque, which I earned via the drop system too so I will be saving this one for trading. Now I have plenty of things to barter with (Toque, Tricorne and Ushanka).

Is it just me having a bad night, or have the new weapons really changed the balance of the game? Pyro's seem to have been doing extraordinarily well tonight on the server I was on (like 25% better scores than everyone else), and the Demo is almost unbeatable as a melee class now with new sword + new shield combo.

Haven't noticed that. The only new weapon I got was the Pyro's detonator. Sounds pretty hilarious as a firework, but otherwise I can see myself sticking with the flare gun as I believe the Detonator does not crit for flaming targets. (edit: Detonator mini-crits, the flare gun crits.)

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
