Official Nintendo E3 Discussion Thread

Why would everybody hate kh3 to be on the wii? With all the casuals who love disney like a child being on the wii they would get tons of buyers for it on the wii.

Remember kh3 appeal is that it has disney characters on it. Also disney owns the rights to their own characters. If disney says it has to be on the wii I really don't think square has a choice unless they drop the disney characters from the game. Remember Disney is heavily developing for the wii and ds.

The wii still offers better graphics then the ps2. Its just that developers have been lazy . HEck I think with microsoft getting ff13 i would think you could also see kh3 on the 360 also.

Many KH fans would hate it going to the Wii.

Not everybody, I know casuals would be like "OMG DISNEY!".

The game has mountains of potential to look insane in HD, I don't want that wasted for the trade off of motion controls.

+1

also.. aren't Wii's still SUPER difficult to find in stores?

If Nintendo has issues keeping up with the demand as it is... they'll never keep up if KH3 went to the Wii

The Wii is a next-gen console.

Sorry, correction then.

A graphical next-generation experience.

ok.. I'm sorry.. but the PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii are current-gen consoles...

We're talking about KH2 to KH3.

That is essentially current gen -> next gen.

But yeah I hear you, we can't go about calling the current consoles next gen forever :p

This thread is horrible. So many posts bashing the Wii, but then reminding people that it stays sold out all over the country. Nintendo hasn't catered to the hardcore gamer for a long time, and they probably still won't. They are THE owners of the casual and party game market. They found their niche in the gaming market, and it doesn't really look like they even care to venture far outside of it. Not to forget the fact that no-one has ever really mounted any kind of real opposition to them in the handheld market.

This is an interesting point. Until the PSP, whose sales figures still pale in comparison to the DS, every handheld that was released to compete with the GameBoy has been either utterly crushed (GameGear) or relegated to a niche market (GP2X, NeoGeo Pocket). I do have to wonder what Nintendo's mad scientists are working on in their secret underground volcano lair with respect to handheld devices. The DS is doing great, but I know better than to think Ninty isn't at least working on preliminary stages of its successor.

I kinda get this feeling like one of these days (years?) people are going to be all geared up for a big Wii announcement and Nintendo's going to drop a handheld bombshell instead.

Just FYI I'm not bashing the Wii.

I don't want to see KH3 on the Wii, that's all.

You also pretty much answered you're own point on the negativity, this is a gaming forum populated with hardcore gamers - Many of whom are annoyed at Nintendo for not offering enough.

No one is dissing the Wii success rates, just commenting on the split between casual and hardcore content.

You do realise that the wii has better graphics then the ps2 right and it would still be a graphical jump right? So your saying people are annoyed at nintendo for not offering enough but yet you say the same people would be upset if nintendo gets kh3?

Thats a little contradictory don't you think?

I'm saying some KH fans would be annoyed at the game not progressing logically onto a platform that would equal = HD graphics.

KH1 & KH2 were PS titles, so people see fit that KH3 should be a PS3 title and have the pros of the PS3, one of which is HD graphics.

I know the Wii can produce better graphics than the PS2 (most of the time - take note shovelware developers), but a lot of us KH's fans expect a huge jump in graphics.

KH is not a casual game, that's the biggest ignorant mistake people make just because it has Disney characters.

8:52 am PT: Side note: The very first image we were bombarded with upon entry was that of totally old people playing Wii. Confidence ... failing.

not a surprise... they have targeted the casual market for a while now

Starting in 5 mins guys!

I'm tuned into IGN live :D

and I'm hitting fresh over on Engadget - lol

    • XBOX is at the end of its generational life cycle and wasn't selling much anyway. They need to figure out the pricing for XBOX Helios. However, I'm not buying the DRAM shortage with AI preferring HBM. I think it's industry gouging.
