Me thinks you should let some discussion happen before posting more, or add it to the original post instead :p

btwwww, do we know what the EU cover is yet?

I just post every piece of info I can find, nothing wrong with that :p

EU cover is the same as the cover from the game guide above

I know, not complaining about that, but the topic is only being bumped by yourself 90% of the time

Not my fault if no one has anything to say :p

Guests read the topic as well, I just post stuff from around the web (Y)

I don't mind the updates, it's just the lack of conversation. At this rate AB may as well set up an RSS feed for us lol.

Well you know, this board is chock-a-block with raging COD/GoW/Halo lovers, they're probably all in shock just now. Give them time ;)

JOKES! Don't overreact anyone, kthx

It's okay but, this train wreck of a thread will be cleared for the official a week or so before launch (Y) Not making it any earlier or the same thing will happen - 41 pages before anyones even played the game lol. Most of these updates ain't really substantial enough to make new topics, so I'll just keep chucking things at you in here. Maybe once the demo date is announced or something I'll make a new topic telling everyone that, and we can discuss the demo in it.

NeoGAF is at 280 pages, so we're not doing that bad.

Just been watching some trailers and I have to say everything looks great so far, but my god the flamethrower looks like ass

It's meant to be a napalm flamethrower which is why it fires in more of a stream than a huge ball of fire

flamethrower-boat.jpg

From IGN,

And then there's the flamethrower, the current flavour of the month for shooters. As opposed to World at War's flamethrower, which fires a jet of flame twenty feet or so, Killzone 2's flamethrower is a little different – it shoots an arcing stream of molten flame. It's pretty effective, but rather than sending your enemies to a quick and charcoaled death, they tend to dance about for quite a while before succumbing. We want faster stopping power!

In regards to the EU Bundle

bundle.jpg

So far looks like America won't get it...

No Killzone 2 bundles planned for the US

Earlier this week, Sony Europe leaked packshots of a Killzone 2 bundle that would be accompanying the games release across the Atlantic. The bundle included the 80GB PS3, a Dual Shock 3, and a copy of the highly anticipated first person shooter. We followed up on the story, and contacted Sony to see if Americans would be getting the same treatment.

The disappointing answer, unfortunately, is no. Sony told us they had no plans for a Killzone 2 hardware bundle at the moment. They also mentioned, however, this was subject to change.

We'll see if it stays that way.

A bundle and price cut would be a very good idea, but I think asking for a price cut just now is too early. Maybe at E3.

Ah so thats why, I thought it was just a traditional flame thrower we see in other FPS'. I prefer COD/GOW/Halo 3's

Yeah it doesn't look as spectacular as a traditional flamethrower, but the death animations and burning Helghasts are still fun

First online review of Killzone 2 awards game 4 out of 5

killzone222b.jpg

Swedish site GP has published what appears to be the first online review of Killzone 2, and has awarded the game 4 out of 5.

The reviewer sums things up thus:

[Translated from Swedish] The controls are good and the environments feel natural, raw and uncouth and that?s where Killzone 2 succeeds compared to many other shooters; it feels more personal, it?s easier to identify with your character and to feel connected with your teammates. Co-op is noticeably missing, which is odd, and Killzone 2 isn?t doing much new with the genre but it is great enough to succeed without launching for the Christmas Sales Period.

Killzone 2 is released exclusively on PlayStation 3 at the end of February.

Thanks, disc.

Lol!

I don't think i'm going to take that review too seriously.

Though I do love online reviews that pop up on these sites that noone has heard of and there seem to be a total of 4 reviews and all by the same guy, and thats all the reviews on the site as I cant seem to find nymore, so its barely a game related site at all.

And then theres the fact it hit that site before any actual main gaming site, no thanks, lol.

i can only take them serious if they gave GOW 4/5 too. or they got ******* from valve but not kz2 makers. else the rating doesnt make sense.

I wouldnt worry aout it, if you go to the site it sees to have barely anything game related on it and barely any reviews.

Just sees to be nother one of those sites that wants hits, I wouldnt be suprised if they even got a copy of the game as the review is a whole, and get ready, three paragraphs long.

I could write more about the experienceof taking off my left shoe.

I hope you're not serious (N)

edit: oh ffs, you guys are really gonna cry if everyone doesn't gives it 10/10 or 5/5?

Seriously, grow up. Not everyone needs to love the GoW, Halo, KZ and LBP's.

+1

A review is a single persons opinion on the game, not always going to be the same opinion of those that LOVE the PS3 or even the FPS genre. Whilst I believe most magazines give reviews to certain 'fans' of a genre if someone doesn't like FPS games then chances of them appreciating what others do is slim. Attention to detail, things that it may do better than other games that the reviewer may never of even played so cannot make such comparisons.

Deal with it, at the end of the day, if you like the game buy it, listen to what they say good/bad points rather than a final score.

Guys stop being lame and flipping out over a Swedish newspaper review

How often does anyone post/take to heart such reviews? (I've never seen this source before) Just a journalist with an opinion. I can find reviews of pretty much every big game that aren't automatically giving out full marks.

I do hope reviews talk about the bots, I think it's pretty cool this is the first console FPS to include fully working bots :)

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device.
