All I did was replace my shell32.dll with the Bluecurve one Rivak made. You can try Yztoolbar if you want an easier way to change the explorer toolbar buttons.

Can someone help me out with the shplayer.dll? I moved it to \Windows\System32 after renaming it, and still nothing. Everytime I minimize I get the default garrish player.

Thanks...

Did you reboot after installing it? All you really have to do is logoff and then back on to see the changes.

Ohh, this theme is absolutely GODLY.

If i could have some assitance in changing something though, i would be much happier with it..

When you have the taskbar at the top of the screen (its how i like it on thin taskbars) it looks like the item on the bar is not exactly centered as it is when the taskbar is on the bottom of the screen.. see pic for more clarification..

if this isnt a bug, i would really appreciate someone assisting me in fixing this, i have styleBuilder and whatnot, and pretty good computer experience.

Hmm, this theme is awsome! After some major tweaking I got this: http://fusionsix.metabong.com/images/scree...ts/031503-3.jpg [1600x1200, no 56k!]. I'm really happy with it, although if anyone can tell me where I can find some of those Bluecurve icons that go with it, I'd be really happy! PM me if you know, I can't find them on neowin when I search....

I am not having a problem with the shell32.dll, its the shpalyer.dll (the WIndows Media minimized skin).

Wolvereen: I was responding to this post you made..

Do you have a browseui.dll file that you could make available? I assume thats how you replaced your back and forward arrows?

If not, how?

TIA

and I did answer your question about shplayer.dll. You do know that you need to have Microsoft's Powertoys installed to use those shplayer.dll files?

Oop, sorry!

I have Powertoys for WM9 installed. Is it that, or Powertoys for XP?

TIA!

:-)

Amazing work btw, I am completely captivated...just replaced my shell32.dll.

Out of curiosity, what do you reccomend for replacing icons? I have hords of them from the Bluecurve set I want to use...

Thansk again!

:) :)

ElementWRX: Nice screenshot, what exactly did you tweak though? :D Search again for Bluecurve, I got 3 pages worth of results.

xD I found the icons in some other thread already. I didn't tweak too much seeing as I'm a newbie to this stuff and I don't wanna mess up my computer. I changed the wallpaper that came with it (w00t) and basically skinned everything with this minimalistic stuff...Boy you shoulda seen my desktop before i did this :pinch:

I'm reposting my AIM login hack... A few people have PM'd me asking how to do it exactly...

1. Open ResHacker

2. Load AimRes.dll

3. Find and expand the GIFDATA tree

4. Locate 103

5. Right-click 1033 and select Replace Resource...

6. Refer to the image below:

reshacker-howto.jpg

7. Save.

And again, here is the image:

ReplaceGIFDATA103.gif

If you'd like more colors, I'll do per request.. or you can do it yourselves even :)

Anyone out there willing to give me a little help?

I've followed the instructions which told me to "install this Visual Style simply copy the folders named 'Classix' and 'ClassixSD' to your 'C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes' folder. Installing the included font is optional" but when I go to change my visual style through Display in Control Pannel I don't have the option to change...

Do I need to make these changes using a program like StyleXP or am I missing a step here...

Thanks in advance

try going into the Resources folder and double-clicking on the .msstyles file

i think using the display options will only show .theme files
