Lost - Season 5

I doubt it's a Dharma station. One can only wonder what it is, where it is, and what's in it. If all of the kidnapped survivors are there, and the rules apply to them with being teleported, they should be in the temple with each flash. Hypothetical, they flash back to 1954, while in the Temple, and there are Others there. Heck, even going to present time (present being 2004 or early 2005). Wonder if the Others would react with hostility.

Compared to the other mysteries and stories to tell, I highly doubt a lot, if any, attention will be paid to this.

It is a Dharma station. On one of Ben's maps, it even had a logo.

They were out in the jungle when the island moved, with Locke, and they didn't move.

Ah, right. Locke was surrounded by people, but was it only Others, all the Others, or the Others and the survivors? I recall it not being a broad shot that would show everyone, but surely the Others comprise of more than a handful of people. We saw lots in the homes when 815 crashed.

I'm a bit perplexed with the movement of the Island.

Frist shift - Before 22 September 2004

Second shift - January 2005 or later

Third shift - Between 2001 and 22 September 2004

Forth shift - 1954

So, I'm thinking the entire Island is merging/overlapping itself with the past Islands. Everyone and objects after Ben finished rotating the wheel is passing in time. Including all the Others - which they are hidden in the Temple.

I don't think its just the Losties and Science group. So, if Locke really wanted to a definitive answer, he should go to the Temple. But, I doubt he knows the location or Juliet (She would have suggested it by now, unless shes playing another mind game under Ben's orders)

Remember that the people are moving AND the island moved. So its just the people flashing into those other times, not the whole island with it.

I pulled out the DVD and checked. There is one shot where you can see 16 Others and Locke right before the flash. No Cindy that I can see and the kids aren't there. So they must still be elsewhere.

The second shift was likely in 2004 as well because the plane was still on top of a Dharma station.

Obviously the island moved, but I think what's happening is that both the island, and the survivors, are moving. Perhaps not at the same time each time, but definitely both. Maybe moving the island moves it where, while the people on it are moving when? Crazy stuff :|

Remember that the people are moving AND the island moved. So its just the people flashing into those other times, not the whole island with it.

No, you cannot be certain of this. Could still be either way as Daniel pointed out...

No the second shift was after 2005, the plane went back down from the top hill. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline:Post-moving

But the island did move, we are certain of that.

That's what I said, it's on the top of the Dharma station (in other words, on the ground), not the wall/hill. The show only progressed into 2005 sometime during the fourth season, long after the plane was moved to reveal the Pearl station (I think it was the Pearl), so it has to be 2004 :p

And whoever chose red for that updated map is a fool. At least through a glow around the text so it's not as contrasting and difficult to read.

But the island did move, we are certain of that.

In terms of time.

episode thinks the Island isn't traveling through time with the Losties, Science group and Others. I think otherwise. See my previous post.

Juliet said to Daniel, "So, that's why the camp is gone, the Island is moving through time".

To which, Daniel replied with, "either the Island is or we are".

Still a minor discrepancy. I don't want to look into it, but I'll assume you're right.

The whole island isn't moving with them. If that were the case, they wouldn't have lost the beach camp, the objects on the island wouldn't move, etc.

The island DID move, but its not moving with everything on it, otherwise the Others wouldn't have disappeared.

Maybe it just moved physically.

Still a minor discrepancy. I don't want to look into it, but I'll assume you're right.

He is.

Actually, yes I can. The island moved. That is 100% positive. 'bloop' remember?

The people are moving in time. That is also 100% positive.

duh, I know the Island moved. But you think the Island isn't moving through time.

"remember that the people are moving AND the island moved. So its just the people flashing into those other times, not the whole island with it."

So what the heck are you arguing then? Did I ever say the island didn't move through time? No. I just said that it isn't traveling with the Losties.

Two objects cannot exist in the same place at the same time. They are CLEARLY moving back to older versions of the island, as you can tell by the items on it.

So what the heck are you arguing then? Did I ever say the island didn't move through time? No. I just said that it isn't traveling with the Losties.

Your argument just doesn't cut it. So, the Island split apart from the Losties, science group and others timeline and sitting comfortably on a new location? Please. Their Island has to be traveling with them through time.

I think the reason the camps disappeared were, because in that time, it never existed. So, camps didn't appear. The boat was an exception, it was able to follow them to the future and past because they were using it just like their clothes.

The Others didn't disappear, I think they are all at the Temple. After the first flash, the Others expected what will happen. Hence, they stayed in the Temple because as Ben mentioned, it is the only SAFE place on the bloody Island.

What evidence do you have that their island is moving?

But you just said that they are on THEIR island. That stuff should all be there, on THEIR island.

The Others didn't disappear, I think they are all at the Temple.

They were standing right next to Locke. Then the flash, then they weren't. They disappeared. So your argument is, during the flash, they all ran their little asses into the temple from the middle of the jungle before Locke noticed?

What evidence do you have that their island is moving?

Like I said you cannot be certain of your theory. It could be either way, as Daniel mentioned. That is my evidence.

There are most likely rules, its my theory that whatever timeline the Island moves to, the present Island will always trump the moving Island.

I'm not talking about 1954 others. I'm talking about the freaking Others in the Temple. After Ben made Richard take everyone to the Temple to be safe. Got it? Those Others in the Temple are moving through time with the Losties and Science group.

    • So how did you solve the problem? Disabling Secure Boot isn’t a solution.
    • Another devilish issue surrounding these certificates is what can happen with old, unsuspecting PCs that nevertheless have Secure Boot enabled. In my case, it was a Dell with a 3rd-gen Core chip (so about 13 years old). As of the last few weeks, it was suddenly BSOD'g within about 5 minutes of booting. Turns out it was because of MS's "Secure-Boot-Update" scheduled task, which is scheduled to run 5 minutes after login. It's explained in gory detail here (this is not my post, but it was where I found the answer), but the short version is that this legacy system would need fairly elaborate, manual certificate intervention since MS's automatic cert update method cannot work. How to do that is linked late in the thread. https://www.bleepingcomputer.c...od-caused-by-scheduled-task Secure Boot wasn't at all important for this particular PC, so I disabled it to be done with the problem.

Winhance 26.06.12 changelog: Features Builder Mode — build a Winhance config file or autounattend.xml without changing anything on the PC you're sitting at. Flip the new mode switcher to Builder, set everything the way you want it, and save the result as a Winhance config or an autounattend file ready for deployment on other machines. Sponsors & Supporters page — the exit donation dialog is gone. In its place, an in-app page (heart icon or the More menu) recognizes the businesses and individual supporters who keep Winhance free. It works offline and is fully localized. Change History — Winhance now keeps a receipt of everything it does. ChangeHistory.txt records every setting change (before and after values) and every app install or removal, with clear headers for config imports and bulk actions. Open it from the More menu. Hebrew language support — Winhance is now available in 29 languages. New Explorer customizations: desktop icon visibility toggles, This PC folder visibility, an icon cache size setting, and automatic thumbnail cache cleanup. New "All apps view" setting for the redesigned Windows 11 Start menu, and the Windows 11 system tray icons setting is now a dropdown with more control. App-local UI zoom — press Ctrl +/-/0 or use Ctrl+MouseWheel to scale the whole app, just like a browser. New External Apps: EA app, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, Rockstar Games Launcher, PowerShell, and Helium Browser. Bug Fixes Layouts no longer clip when the Windows text size slider is set above 100%. Accessibility: Narrator now announces setting names on toggles and dropdowns, previously unlabeled buttons are labeled, and progress updates are announced. Silent updates now respect your custom install location instead of reverting to the default. Cancel in Review Mode no longer clears your app selections. OneNote is now detected correctly for Win32 Click-to-Run installs. Clean Start Menu applies more reliably by also writing the group policy path. WinGet errors are no longer silent — error details now show in the terminal output. Fixed a startup crash on older Windows builds caused by a .NET runtime regression. Config import now converts power setting values correctly and no longer re-applies an already-active power plan. Improvements App icons load noticeably faster and cover almost everything now, including legacy capabilities and optional features — they come from a dedicated, checksum-validated icon repository and are fetched in parallel. Software & Apps polish: per-icon tooltips, extra table columns, an app sort dropdown, relocated search, and a cleaner compact view. A warning now appears when the Connected Devices Platform Service is set to Manual or Disabled, since some Windows features depend on it.
