Lost - Season 5

I'm not talking about 1954 others. I'm talking about the freaking Others in the Temple. After Ben made Richard take everyone to the Temple to be safe. Got it? Those Others in the Temple are moving through time with the Losties and Science group.

In ep1 when the first flash occurred Locke was with Richard and a bunch of others, after the flash it was only Locke...

Oh right. I see the flaw in my argument. Alright, never mind what I've been saying. Making theories with time travel is annoying :p

Hmm, that makes it even more confusing. So, the time travel only affects non-natives.

Like I said you cannot be certain of your theory. It could be either way, as Daniel mentioned. That is my evidence.

Juliet said to Daniel, "So, that's why the camp is gone, the Island is moving through time".

To which, Daniel replied with, "either the Island is or we are".

Actually if i remember correctly a few (or more) pages back there is a snippet from an interview with one of the writers that confirms its both

Its 'a little of both', per one of the pod/vodcasts.

There are most likely rules, its my theory that whatever timeline the Island moves to, the present Island will always trump the moving Island.

So the present island trumps the moving island. We can go with that. However, then logically, for all intents and purposes, the island isn't moving, if the present ALWAYS supersedes it. The only place it would belong is the place it left. Since we know it doesn't return to that place in space/time, it must 'trump' the present island at some point for your theory to be correct.

Yup, thats the problem :p i was in a full blown arguement with a mate over a theory i had but forgot about 1 simple thing and woops :p

Ah, but its not only non-natives. Some of the Others were brought to the island, like Juliet, and she moves, while the others don't. Also, its been strongly hinted that Charlotte is an Other (born on the island), and she moves, albeit with the side effects she is experiencing.

With that stated, there are rules to which we're not aware of.

I don't know if its 'rules' as much as to this being something gone wrong.

The island wants the O6+1 (maybe 2 if you count Lapidus) back, and can't 'settle' on a time/place until it has them. Thats why its jumping all over time instead of just 'moving'.

Well Juliet isn't really a native, she was brought to the Island only three years before the 815 crash.

Right, but we have to assume that other members of the Others were in a similar situation to Juliet and they didn't move.

Also, the people that the Others took from 815 we have to assume are not moving either.

I doubt it, since we didn't see any of them join Locke after the first shift - we can assume they are all natives. Juliet was just a requirement needed by Ben to fix the pregnancy problem. Since we don't know the rules about becoming a native, let's assume its the basic one - being born on the Island. If Ben were to have stayed on the Island, we would have know for sure if he could have been a native or not and know the rules on the qualification to become a native.

It's just three of them. They are most likely moving with Miles, Daniel, Charlotte, Juliet and the Losties. We might meet up with them in the up coming episodes, or they might have been given instructions to find the Temple and stay there until Locke fixes the problem.

Someone please to shed some light on this one for me: why is Desmond "an exception" to the rules ?

Well, after the explosion of the Swan station, something happened to him. He started predicting the inevitable death of Charlie, which later turned to him traveling back in time for short periods of time. We found out the same thing happened with George Minkowski.

So, he's most likely the exception because of the explosion.

Still arguing about Time Travel? :p

The thing about Time Travel, is it's really complex and Unknown, so DON'T try to act like you know it all.

I'll say this, I agree that Charlotte is Nose-bleeding, because she is born on the island and she(it)'s moving.

Time travel of a fictional TV Show != the possibility of Time travel in reality, okay?

We can discuss and make theories about it all we want. You can, however, go back making your little retarded celebrity threads if you don't want us putting the puzzles together here...

The rules may have to do with integration with the Others or having been accepted by Jacob while maintaining a coexistence with the Others. Heck, at this point we still don't know why they were taking select people in the first place, because if they wanted everyone there would have been more than enough Others to have taken them all.

It's just three of them. They are most likely moving with Miles, Daniel, Charlotte, Juliet and the Losties. We might meet up with them in the up coming episodes, or they might have been given instructions to find the Temple and stay there until Locke fixes the problem.

Actually they took a lot more than three. Anna Lucia mentioned the Others taking nine more, or something to that effect, and that was just from the Tailies.

Ethan and Goodwin were sent to find information about the Losties and report back. From those lists they created, the Others took only the people that would fit in their community or show less resistance.

It appears its only two more Tailies, #8 and #9 from this list: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Background_cast/Others

I'm sure none of the Others died who were with Richard during the last two episodes of Season 4 and #8/#9 didn't appear with Locke, so I guess you are right. An acceptance of living on the Island is required to be a native. Juliet and the Losties never wanted to be on the Island. Though this theory falls apart because Miles, Daniel and Charlotte chose to stay on the Island. :/ I don't think its a Jacob thing because Locke believes he exists and accepts him and he still time jumped...

Gonna have to go against Lostpedia yet again. In Season 2, Episode 6, at around the 23rd minute mark:

They came the first night that we got here. They took three of us. Nothing happened for two weeks, then they came back. They took nine more. They're smart, and they're animals, and they could be anywhere at any time. Now we're moving through the jungle - their jungle - just so you can save your little hick friend over here. And if you think that one gun and one bullet is going to stop them - think again. So shut your mouth and keep moving.

That last part with Locke definitely defeats that theory, ah well.

I believe Charlotte said "I will stay... Just for a little while, We can get the next boat" or something along them lines, Daniel didn't really want to stay, He had to go back because the boat blew up

Gonna have to go against Lostpedia yet again. In Season 2, Episode 6, at around the 23rd minute mark:

I'm going to assume they are dead. A lot of the Others killings happened during Seasons 1-4. Either way, if they are all alive or not, they have become 'special' enough to remain with Richard and the Others during the jump. Because #8 and #9 were with Richard at the end of Season 4.

I believe Charlotte said "I will stay... Just for a little while, We can get the next boat" or something along them lines, Daniel didn't really want to stay, He had to go back because the boat blew up

Nope,

I don't think Daniel really wanted to leave, he was just obligated to because he needed bring the other Losties to the right coordinate to see the ship.

Some people are actually using "IS" instead of "MIGHT', thinking they HAVE the right theories. Chill out people, it's just a show, let's have some FUN :D

Exactly.

Some people really need to Chill out!

You could be wrong. You could be right.

Stop acting like "I am right you are wrong" over these Time Travel stuff on this show!

Make theories IS fine, but the minute you act like you are right, that just really Arrogant!

Stay out of the conversations if you don't like them. Yes, neptune and I disagreed on things, but we didn't get upset at each other or anything like you are insinuating.

Just because you get confused by things doesn't mean others do.

    • Here is how I fixed Windows 11 not booting after clean installation by Taras Buria Story time. A couple of weeks ago, I experienced a very odd thing with my computers. I was trying to reinstall Windows 11 on my primary device, and everything was going smoothly until the installer performed the first restart. After that, my computer entered the boot disk selection screen instead of continuing the setup process. Huh, that's odd, said I, and selected Windows Boot Manager only to see it fall back into the same screen right away. Then I tried booting from the USB drive with the same result—the PC kept returning to the boot device selection screen, and removing the drive would send my PC to UEFI, again, with no way to launch Windows 11. I fired up my spare laptop, which has been sitting unused for quite a while, to see if I am dealing with a defective USB drive. Nope, Windows 11 installed and started without issues. After trying another drive and checking all the possible settings in UEFI, I decided to try disabling Secure Boot. Lo and behold, Windows 11 started as it should have been in the first place, continued the setup process, and reached the initial setup screen. Victory! After I finished the setup and applied all updates, I re-enabled Secure Boot, and Windows 11 started without issues. Some time later, I tried reinstalling Windows 11 on my laptop only to experience similar issues, with UEFI claiming a Secure Boot violation. I checked whether the drive works on my main PC, and yes, it installed Windows 11 without errors. I scratched my head, went to UEFI, turned off Secure Boot, and installed Windows 11 without issues. After that, I enabled Secure Boot. Note: I used the official Media Creation Tool app for my USB drive. Also, UEFI was properly configured for Windows 11, including no Legacy Mode, a GPT-partitioned drive, and TPM and Secure Boot enabled. From my experience, if you are dealing with similar symptoms, I recommend two things: If you use old Windows 11 install media, create a new one with the latest Windows 11 release, especially if you know your PC already has the latest Secure Boot certificates. If you cannot create a new one, turn off Secure Boot, complete the installation, download all available updates, and then re-enable Secure Boot in UEFI. Note that you need to turn off Secure Boot after installing Windows 11. Otherwise, the installer won't run, claiming a hardware requirements mismatch. I believe the problem hides in Secure Boot certificates that expire this month. Microsoft is currently rolling out new certificates, and maybe a mismatch was causing these issues for both of my systems. I am out of my depth to make a definitive statement; this article is flagged as "Opinion," as I only share my experience and some tips on how to fix the problem. If some of you possess deeper knowledge and understanding of the situation, please share it in the comments. As for everyone else struggling with computers not booting after a clean install, the two steps above should get you out of the pickle.
    • I gave the tool a chance the other day to make a USB. An hour later it was stuck at 0% downloaded. I downloaded the official ISO, downloaded Rufus, and made the USB myself in 15 min.
    • <Moved to software discussion and support> I've got fond memories of Winamp. Changing the skins, the different visualisations etc. But now I just need a simple music player. MSN messenger would be another one, MSN Messenger Plus (I think?) offered so many different plugins. But again, it probably wouldn't work for me these days. And then there is miRC. i think it's still going these days, but lord i had fun with that back in the day. Now it's mostly stuff like Discord, WhatsApp group chats, Signal, Telegram... /me is showing his age...
    • ive always been fascinated by old software this is an old video player for windows from apple
